  • when i was very little my dad catched up a puffer fish with a key inside.

    i was like....WTF?

  • @estivenrex18 a Key? Thats crazy WTF!? Key eating puffers gone wild!

  • @lopaka73

god how do you clean the tank out!?

    cause arnt they poison?

  • @mrKANYEwes No poison, it is a very friendly fish. There is a Lion fish that I had that is poisonous, that is a little more scary. Thanks for watching! Azhiaziam com

  • @lopaka73 yes they can foul a tank and kill the other fish in the tank, believe me i experienced it with the puffer i had. same as yours blue eyes and all.

  • @lopaka73 Actually puffer fish is the second most poisonous vertebrae in the world, ignorance is bliss in your case I guess.

  • @SlayerofFiction I bet your a ton of fun to watch Jeopardy with, does it make you feel good to Google things and act like you just knew it because your so darn smart? Tool.

  • @lopaka73 They're very poisonous, but not in the way the lionfish is. The poison is in their meat.

  • @ekimr90 its in their gallblader to be exact lol

  • @ekimr90 sorry i meant bladder my bad

  • @SlayerofFiction only if injestide smart one...

  • @SlayerofFiction only if you eat parts of them.

  • @SlayerofFiction puffer fish aren't poisonous smart one, their gallbladders contain poison, but they don't actually secret any poison. "ignorance is bliss" i suppose

  • @SlayerofFiction puffer fish aren't poisonous smart one, their gallbladders contain poison, but they don't actually secrete any poison. "ignorance is bliss" i suppose

  • @lopaka73

Not all Pufferfish are friendly, most will leave ya alone, but if you go into a wild ones territory, they will fight back. I was free diving trying to get an empty snail shell form under a rock where a Puffer was (guessing he just ate the shell contents being shell inside was clean) And he kept on nipping at the pole I used to get it out. Just be careful, the puffer I encountered was a bit bigger.

PS Lionfish are the herpes of the ocean, do not throw it in the ocean.

  • @mrKANYEwes The poison is in their liver, only when preditors eat them, chew through the liver, then they die together,

  • @thelalaman if their startled suddenly they can secrete the poison to.

  • @pendragon1950 really? sorry i didn';t know that

  • @mrKANYEwes booooooooooooooo

  • @mrKANYEwes only poison to eat... :)

  • @mrKANYEwes

i dont know if its the same for this kind, but at least in the ones around japan, the toxin is in their gonads and intestines, so they're only toxic of you eat them

  • @mrKANYEwes They are only poisonous if you eat them (unless they are prepared just right). It's a certain bacteria they get from seawater that makes them poisonous. If you breed them inside a tank, they don't become poisonous at all.

  • @mrKANYEwes Only poisonous if you eat a certain part of the fish.

  • @mrKANYEwes the poision is in their bladder, its when you eat it you will get poisoned

  • @lopaka73 how can tell me what type of puffer this is? i have the same kind , yellow body with black spots and white belly , mind and click this here.................

  • @derek15476 Porcupine puffer I believe. Thanks for watching!

  • @estivenrex18 they can.. a guy catches a puffer with a dime inside before too..

  • @estivenrex18 That is the key to the portal for the next world!

  • @estivenrex18 *caught

  • @estivenrex18 *caught

  • @estivenrex18

Maybe it was the key to Davy Jones' locker! D:

  • @estivenrex18 It was a key to the puffer's heart. :<

  • How could people dislike this video?

  • i like how you sed it BLOWS itselft up XD

  • I love puffer fish. It's not healthy for them to puff up though. It's really stressful and shortens their lifespan.

  • @HotnessTim puffing up is a natural defence, puffing does not hurt them, its what cause's them to puff up that's detrimental to there health.

  • Comment removed

  • doesnt that mean hes pissed?

  • @fpsgarm They also puff up to keep the skin stretchy, in between pissed off puffs... ;)

  • @lopaka73 that's horseshit. you had something in the tank that was scaring him you fuckin wigger.

  • @SpitRhyma Haha, your funny.

  • @lopaka73 No they dont. It is a very painful thing for them to do. It throws their spin out of whac and crushes their internal organs when ever they puff up.

it is better than being eaten which is why they puff up, they puff to save their lives.

It is not unheard of for a fish to die from the complications of puffing up.

Please dont try to scare your fish into puffing they dont like it, and it can be fatal... if really cute looking.

  • @gtvpsamtik I was on the telephone and looked over when I saw my puffer puffed up, so I started taping it. I would never try to scare any pet of mine. He would puff up at least once a month, with no other fish in the tank and with no threats from humans.

He is dead as a doornail now, long gone from the spine crushing puff's.

  • @gtvpsamtik

They also do it to keep their skin stretchy

  • @gtvpsamtik whare did you read that...in fish for dummy's ?

  • @fpsgarm fish don't get pissed. lol

  • @fpsgarm fish don't get pissed, its a fight or flight reaction.

  • Was that in Rubios?

  • @LetltPlay no it's at Az.Hi.az.I.aM Surf Shop in San Luis Obispo. CHeers!

  • i wish someone would get a puffer fish to inflate on film cause all ive seen is them inflated and deflating

  • LOL1

  • blowed up....

  • if u let them puff up (i know u didnt ofcourse) but if u would let them puff its very stressy for the fish so never do that but those spikey puffs. ( idk the name =P) are really friendly =D

  • haha pufferfish.

  • cool

  • to be honest i like never saw a puffer fish puff im so awesome

  • i thought puffers only did that when there were stressed out

  • It's not a good thing for a puffer to puff up, it means they are scared or pissed.

  • (High pitched voice) "What the fuck are you looking at!!?? God dammit just give me a second and I'll whip the shit out of you!!!!!!!!!!"

  • they are the coolest fish i think your lucky to have one

  • thats bad for the fish

  • You shouldn't make a puffer puff on demand. It's not good for them to do it too often.

  • i saw a puffer just like yours at the fish store and completely fell in love with it. it has such a cute adorable baby face. but unfortunately i cannot have one in my tank, i just started it 2 months ago, its a 220 gallon. and i have lots of corals in there and small fishes.

  • how can you make this fish puff up on demand?

  • i think it only puffs up when it feels threatened or is telling something "back off."

  • @IalexxaI orwhen it naturally does it several times a month to keep its skin loose enough to puff when it needs to..

  • its cute until it kills you

  • there are freshwater puffers too!!!!!!!! ps is to cute!!!!

  • yea but freshwater sucks

  • Cute!

  • cool i want that to be my pet :D I either call him deepthroat or puff nigga daddy

  • Awesome... I have a stars and stripes that I caught on video too.

  • jiggle jiggle jiggle...

  • its a porcupine fish!!!! lol whatever I thought it was a puffer fish the first time I saw 1

  • @jimmy12889 there all puffers, just different types, porcupine, dog face...etc.

  • lol amazing!

  • WOW ADORABLE <3

  • holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love the little jiggle as he swims away x3

  • Yes! It is cute! :)

  • puff some weed!

  • That is some funny stuff.

  • She is a cute fishie! Did she usually tend to just puff up like that here and there? Or did it seem to be when something bugged her?

  • They puff up every so often to keep their skin loose, not only when they are being aggravated... Mine would puff a few times a month...

  • Cool!! Thanks for the information sir. :)

  • was this taken at "east tremont dental" because it looks like my dental office esp that other fish in the background... lol

  • haha you were on the phone :P.. i wish i had a puffer fish! that looks so cool :O

  • what typeof puffer is that?

  • despite how adorable and fun they are for home aquariums, their smile is DEADLY.

Those guys have tetrodotoxins! their smile means death!

  • He jiggles!!!!!!! :)

  • he is so cute...

    but dangerous

  • its bad for the fish cuz it stresses them out

  • not true its bad for them to puff air, safe 4 them 2 puff water

  • ummm lie my puffer blew up and he died

  • you must not have known how to take care of it

  • The reason why your puffer died when he puffed up is beause they only puff under excruciating amounts of stress. And the stress can give them heart attacks.

    Yours probably had heart failure.

  • damn lol my fish had a heart attack :(

  • It's not safe to make them puff at all.

  • omg look at that thing jiggle when it swims away lol too cute

  • Dude you sounf like jack black

  • wow...he does, haha

  • You guys might not be aware, but that is real bad for the fish. It's the equivalent of a heart attack and kills the fish in some cases. They do NOT do it to "keep the skin stretchy"...moron

  • This is not true. Most of the time they puff it is because they feel threatened. That's what they do it for in the wild. Why would something meant for keeping the fish safe be life threatening? The only time puffing up for puffer fish is dangerous is if they do it out of water...they can't deflate if they fill themselves with air.

  • It is very true. Get an education. It stresses them out to a degree that if done too much it will die. Look it up. Study marine biology. Ask an aquarist.

  • First off I am an aquarist who owns two species of puffers. I have studied many sects of biology including marine biology, herpetology, and some microbiology. You saying it is the equivalent of a heart attack is false. Why would a natural defense mechanism be harmful to its user. Of course if it stays like that for a long period or is repeatedly caused to to do then they will die. The fish doing it occasionally doesn't harm it.

  • @NPJPKelso

they can do them up to 4 times in a lifetime before they die.

  • My one puffer has puffed five times already.

  • lol what got him upset enough to puff up?

  • I think the puff everyonce and a while to keep the skin stretchy, I looked over and BAM! He was all blowed up.

  • this aint a puffer. this is a porcupinefish

  • Porcupine Puffer fish, porcupine fish, balloon fish, blowfish, globe fish are all just different nicknames. If you want to get technical its a Diodon holocanthus.

"Puffer" is just a generalized nickname for a class of fish that "puff up"

Just like "clownfish" is a nickname for a class of fish (since theres a bunch of different types, same with puffers).

  • @ 0:09 it looks like the fish is smiling at the camera

  • this puffer is adorable. and the guy in the video sounds frickin hott lmao

  • wiiiicked

  • omg so cute

  • yeah i had one with baby blue eyes then it got caught inbetween my rocks and inflated then cut its self open i was devoed he lasted in my tank 3 weeks along with a emporer angel fish and emporer tang they didnt fight he jsut got stuck inbetween rocks andi found hi moen day dead :( yours is beautifull :D

  • puffer fish are sooooo adorable(:

  • lolz...a couple of days ago i was scuba diving and we were playing with one of those..they're really cute...

  • I know when they puff up like that it puts a lot of stress on them and can lower there life span by a lot. Question?? R most puffer fish poisonous

  • Puffing up is a normal process that does not lower their lifespan what so ever. Frequently they puff up while in various growth stages to stretch out. Such a puff is not stressful to them. All puffers contain the possibly lethal toxin tetratoxin.
