You do something exactly like this (imagining your negative believe you want to change as a light bulb) just without the prop. The light bulb is just for entertainment and possibly helps the NLP.

Good tricks, I could explain (1) why the bulb would move on the table. Such as magnet under the table. (2) why the bulb would light up- LED and battery. But I could not explain (3) make the bulb pop. Perhaps something to do with that black holder on top of the bag.
@kw0s Its a combination of 3 tricks using a gimmicked bulb, which he switches with the audience members as they come up on stage. The effects can be bought from magic shops, although this is an expensive way to perform all 3 since he destroys a costly gimmick.

That is the "switch" you hear, although I concede it's possible that he was misdirecting us with the clip sound to disguise a switch sound. I did not personally hear anything at 1:08. My personal belief is the light bulb is touch activated. Notice how Darren positions the bulb in his hands a very specific way. And keep in mind, there have been touch-activated toys for probably more than a decade.

It's a series of 3 different gimmicks.. I'm a magician myself so won't reveal them, but anyone with a vague idea about magic will know which gimmicks he uses. It's pretty uncharacteristic of Derren to use such mainstream gimmicks; but maybe he's just trying to keep with the times..
Well I m not sure but during the first movement there might be something under the table, light could be coused by electric impulse from his body (after he gives it away it fades) and the last one might be becouse of specific temperature/oxygen strain.

Derren im somewhat dissapointed in this one, the moving light bulb i don't know this one but i think it uses some kind of magnets. Look @ 0:41 Derren gets ready for the lighting of the light bulb. This is a magic trick called "lightning" you can buy it from the magic depot or from howyoudoinmate on ebay and the exploding of the light bulb trick is called "big bang" which can be bought from both places as well.

Yeah, he's great fun to watch. I agree with him at the point that if a belief causes something you do NOT want then it's a good idea to change it. But even if the belief is not true i.e. "Anything is possible" doesn't mean it's not useful. A lot of the time people who have "realistic" beliefs get "realistic" outcomes. It's the difference between the "average" person's life and the lives of people like Da Vinci.

i have a good theory.... and here is what i think....
to get it moving he is using a magnet under the table he is moving with his legs.... Then he puts a little led bulb because he never looks at the other side then it lights after that.... He takes it back removes the light quickly then puts it in a bag that is filled with some weird substance that made it shatter.... Simple
i think how he broke it was, the heat coming from the lamp burned all the oxygen inside the bag, he wasn't letting any more oxygen in from the black thing from the top and eventually the bag became a vacuum, strong enough to break the lamp. i think...
this is actually a new generation bulb, that uses LED's instead of a fillament. The Human body, when given enough static charge, can easily light these bulbs.

the 1st bit is simply invisible 'Magicians Wire' that is moving the bulb... my 14yr old brother picked some of this up from a magic store a few weeks before this was aired and was performing tricks with it... thats how easy it is... the rest of it is defo psychic... :D
he has never hidden the fact that some magic is included in his show. He speaks very openly about it. He always says his shows mix 'psychology, MAGIC, misdirection and showmanship'. He speaks to magicians, writes books for magicians, is very popular in the magic community. Although, he does mix in a lot of psychological tricks and other things as well that aren't really magic tricks in the traditional sense, and that's why he is in a class of his own and so highly thought of. oh, and it DERREN!

'Pure effect' is fantastic, as is 'Absolute Magic'. Good luck finding an official copy of either though. Only place i've found is International Magic selling them for £150 each! So glad i bought them a few years ago when they were only £30 each! Not seen any of his DVD's, though a friend recommended 'The Devils Picturebook', I'm not really into that sort of knuckle busting card magic (Yes KANETREADWELL, Derren started out as a card MAGICIAN...)

look at michael at 1:15min behind him is a man with a swich he then puts the swich on the table whilst the camera is close to darrens face
on the 1:22min darren flicks the swich off which you can hear clearly

Well I m not sure but during the first movement there might be something under the table, light could be coused by electric impulse from his body (after he gives it away it fades) and the last one might be becouse of specific temperature/oxygen strain.

thats kinda intresting. in the latest batch of shows (prediction of lottery etc) i felt he was playing to his thick audience in his explanations and trying to take them all the way. he says hes honest about the dishonesty but i felt this was a new kind of dishonesty he wasnt being totally honest about (unless you were mildly inteligent and saw it was all utter pants).
but mostly derren is bril and has tons of class and style.

Here are some guesses:
1) He moves the bulb by blowing on it - his head points down.
2) The light bulb glows - there is an off screen light beam maybe UV or IR light with perhaps flourescence coating to the bulb.
3) The collapasing may be a similar use of off screen invisible light beam.

Derren im somewhat dissapointed in this one, the moving light bulb i don't know this one but i think it uses some kind of magnets. Look @ 0:41 Derren gets ready for the lighting of the light bulb. This is a magic trick called "lightning" you can buy it from the magic depot or from howyoudoinmate on ebay and the exploding of the light bulb trick is called "big bang" which can be bought from both places as well.

Yeah, he's great fun to watch. I agree with him at the point that if a belief causes something you do NOT want then it's a good idea to change it. But even if the belief is not true i.e. "Anything is possible" doesn't mean it's not useful. A lot of the time people who have "realistic" beliefs get "realistic" outcomes. It's the difference between the "average" person's life and the lives of people like Da Vinci.

i have a good theory.... and here is what i think....
to get it moving he is using a magnet under the table he is moving with his legs.... Then he puts a little led bulb because he never looks at the other side then it lights after that.... He takes it back removes the light quickly then puts it in a bag that is filled with some weird substance that made it shatter.... Simple

'Pure effect' is fantastic, as is 'Absolute Magic'. Good luck finding an official copy of either though. Only place i've found is International Magic selling them for £150 each! So glad i bought them a few years ago when they were only £30 each! Not seen any of his DVD's, though a friend recommended 'The Devils Picturebook', I'm not really into that sort of knuckle busting card magic (Yes KANETREADWELL, Derren started out as a card MAGICIAN...)
