  • Anybody notice that mike joy says newman haas instead of stewart haas at the beginning?

  • I was there for that race. The whole race was boring but the end was good. I kind of wish that Tony would have won, would have been the first for his team. I am still sad though....

  • i was at the race, ive been goin to dover for the past 6 years and that had to be the best race ive ever been too, not to mention jimmie won, he is the top dog in nascar today...

  • Lucky dog, you got to see him win in person. Haven't been to Dover since my old AF Squadron from Ft. Meade went there years ago.

But I agree, you can't take way three straight championships. There are going to be haters, oh well. I believe he will win his fourth straight Cup title. Plus I think he has a good shot to pass Bill Elliott, Buck Baker, and Herb Thomas on the all time wins list.

  • good finish......

  • i think if stewart stayed high the rest of the way he would have won the high line was the better line for him towards the end. But Jimmie took that lane away. Oh well hell of a finish none the less

  • seems like tony was tight in 2 up there, the 48 was nice & fast there, was a nice race

  • I agree, one of the best finishes I've seen in years. Tony had a great line, but 9 times out of 10 four tires is going to beat 2 tires. I thought Jimmie was done with 27 to go but after moving up four spots in 5 laps I thought he had a chance. The way he ran down Biffle and Stewart was shocking. Jimmie and Tony have had many exciting duels on the track, and this one was no less exciting. Great race, especially the last 25 laps.

  • ya i thought he was done too especially with the lapped traffic. I wonder what would have happened if there was a caution with 4 to go who would have won

  • Had a caution come out it would have gotten interesting and been a nail-biter. Depending on who was leading, would be hard to tell. Whenever he was leading on a restart, Jimmie was able to pull out and get a big lead. If Tony was leading on a restart with only a few to go, he probably could have held him off.

Regardless, Tony will win some races this year and be a contender in the Chase.

  • You are 100% right..i think the only driver to hold Johnson from a 4th straight this year is Stewart. Busch has yet to grow up and needs to loose one to win one like Johnson and Stewart have both done several times. I hope Johnson will pull off the 4 Peat! Mr. Stewart might have something to say about it though..haha

  • True, they have... Remember Atlanta Spring race in 2007? It was Tony and Jimmie at the end.. and it was a very similar battle!

  • I remember that race. That was an exciting finish!

  • Of course, that race sticks out in my mind between Jimmie and Tony at the end. But another classic battle between the two was the 2008 Chevy Rock & Roll 400 which was the last race before the Chase.

Tony was catching Jimmie and it looked like he was going to pass him. But Jimmie made the high line work and held off smoke for the victory carrying momentum into the Chase.

It's always exciting to see those two at the end of a race. The respect between the two ensures a good clean finish.

  • Remember Richmond also last year..it was Tony and Jimmie goin at it..Johnson and his Team are just NASTY! lol

  • yall r crazzy i told everyone hes goin to comeback and win and it doesnt matter how good stewarts line was jimmie was goin to pass him up high or down low

  • Hey man, I'm glad Jimmie won, he is my driver. He had the dominating car all day long and I'm glad it stayed green the final 27 laps.

Anything can happen if a caution had come out. Remember last year at Chicago. Jimmie worked his way through the field, passed Kyle Busch, and pulled away to over a second lead. Then the caution came out, and on the restart with two laps to go Kyle got him and won the race. With a restart, sometimes tires don't matter.

Two more wins and JJ ties Bill Elliott

  • umm no dude i was at the race and there was no way in hell tony was goin to hold him off jimmies car was just to good, and if he would have stayed high jimmie would have just went to the bottom
