If (as conservatives) they believe in the libertarian doctrine of personal responsibility and exceptionalism, then why would they be part of a group against their best interest? it seems extremely hypocritical to me.

I dislike both Jimmy LaSalvia and Barron's tweets about hate crimes laws and do NOT like GOProud's stance on marriage equality being a states' issue. Tammy Bruce of GOProud opposes marriage equality. Marriage between two consenting, legal adults (i.e. 18+) in loving and stable relationships (of no close relation) should be legal in the United States.
I think it's immensely revealing how GOProud's focus right now is to support any GOP candidate, whoever they may be, as long as they help unseat Obama on the next presidential elections.
