  • Give the hyperbole a rest. The movement against healthcare reform is fueled not by love of country but by fear of change. No change is scarier than knowing that privatized health insurers won't be lining your pockets with cash, eh Congressman? Oh, and, let's not trot out that tired "elitist" rhetoric, please. We elect our officials because they are supposed to be smarter than we are on the issues of the day. That's the job. Your cousin should be more scared of your dishonesty than cancer.

  • Modern-day Reagan/Limbaugh conservatives and Republicans have NO credibility on matters of fiscal discipline.

They made their bed, now LIE in it!

  • The majority of Americans are happy with their health care and do not want a government run health care program but Polosi and her band of runaway thugs rammed it through in the middle of the night. Take a stand America for freedom now because it's about to be taken away!

  • that certainly is a silver haired rich old white man.

  • To Republicans, there's unlimited money for wars and Wall Street.

But you try to put one cent towards helping the American people, and they set the Teabaggers on you!

Teabaggers, their repulsive horde of mindless minions, protesting against their own self interests out of ignorance and fear. They are mad as hell but can't really articulate why, and are quick to assemble at the orders of Fox News.

  • Hobarticus has bought the oft-repeated Dem/Progressive LIE that "the majority of American ppl support PelosiCare/ObamaCare" .... LOOK AT THE TRUE NUMBERS, Hobart & tell your party to STOP LYING

AMERICA'S MAJORITY HAS CHOSEN FREEDOM--FREEEEEDOM! Get it thru your thick heads

  • Lemme get this straight: a vote against a bill he opposes but the majority of Americans support equals the courage and self-sacrifice of WW2 combat veterans. Talk about a slap in the face of vets.

  • Pence is a good fiscal conservative. A fan of the Constitution and limited govt.

I only wish he weren't a social conservative and a foreign policy hawk.

  • The only problems with Pence is that, at least in this speech, is lying through his teeth. Government taking over healthcare? This is a gross misrepresentation of Obama's healthcare bill (read: lie). Other than his lying and being an obvious puppet of big healthcare/PHARMA business, and being less concerned with ensuring affordable access to healthcare for Americans than lining his pockets, I'm sure he's a really terrific guy.

  • Anyone want to join the pool I'm gonna start. How long do you think it will be before all of these republicans start claiming that the bill passed Saturday was their idea and they were for the government health care all along. I give them until 6 months before the midterm elections.

  • Rep Pence, are you daft? Or is this the $247,109 you received from the health care industry taking effect? You are an embarrassment to Indiana. And so you can get your facts straight ~70% of the U.S. population support a public option. But you aren't all that concerned with the facts are you? You don't care about the people you serve or the well being of anyone but yourself and your corporate masters.

  • Thank you, Rep Pence for fighting against government tyranny. "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction." - Reagan

  • Freedom! Thank you Rep Mike Pence for speaking truth against government tyranny!

  • What an awesome speech from someone I would vote for for president! Come on, Senator Pence, we need you!!

  • lets watch the republicans eat each other alive, together!

  • LOL.

  • Why don't conservatives understand that insurance companies have to make money? Their goal is to insure healthy people and deny sick people. Their profits depend on how successfully they do that. Government doesn't have to make a profit (under normal circumstances) AND it doesn't have to compete with anyone. Therefore it can afford to do crazy things like care for sick people.

  • lol

  • The VA is, in every sense, socialized medicine. You don't choose your doctor and it is run by the government. Not even Canada's health care system it that socialized; you can choose your own doctor in Canada.

Guess which system had the highest satisfaction rating? The VA...

Oh, and Canadian users rated their system higher than Americans rate their own.

  • In a year, when all this b.s. he's spewing is proven to be lies, will this jackass get up and say he was wrong?

(I wonder if his cousin got approval from his insurance company "bureaucracy" -- or if he's going to be one of those the private insurance fat cats turn down and leave to die? If he gets turned down, maybe Pence will pay for it out of all the insurance company lobbyist money he's been taking. WHILE Pence is getting taxpayer funded insurance.

  • What is he talking about? Health care has nothing to do with freedom. We already have gov't healthcare - Medicare, Medicaid. And the gov't already helps millions with Soc Sec, unemployment insurance, food stamps. Thousands die every year because they can't afford health care, and thousands go bankrupt as a result of catastrophic illness. Every industrialized nation except ours provides health insurance for its citizens. Mr. Pence is a tool.

  • Yeah, and the government turns down more people than insurance companies. This plan will still leave millions and millions uninsured while leaving the rest stuck with it. You need to look up these other countries you are talking about and see their systems are bankrupt. The UK has such a bad cancer survival rate (because their quality of healthcare is low) that they are limiting sales of cigarettes and tanning bed use. Learn your facts before promoting anything.

  • medicare, medicaid, and the VA combined turn down more patients? Or are you talking about another government? Be specific.

  • The main reason Europe is behind the U.S. in cancer survival rates is not because of the quality of their health care but because of lack of early detection. What this proves is that Europeans need to get checked so cancers can be diagnosed earlier and treated and thus increasing the likelihood of survival. It is on the people of Europe to get themselves tested and not on the government to force them to get tested.

  • continued:

However, accounting for the lack of early detection in Europe the mortality rate falls drastically. It falls to between being slightly better to still being quite a bit worse than in the US, depending on the type of cancer.

I would suggest you learn your facts before promoting anything.

  • What a scurvy scumbag. Bachman/Pence in '12....please.

  • Mike Pence is the biggest bloviating d-bag in Congress.

  • 2:15 uhhh, i'm pretty sure you're cancer friend will change his mind when the insurance company doesn't cover the experimental treatment. also, freedom.

  • @xxxnoquarterxxx My thoughts exactly. Wonder if Pence will give us an update on his friend's treatment or lack thereof if turned down by the insurance company.

  • Alvin691, many are suggesting we share him with all of America... future Mr President ??

  • When a congressman can't make a valid argument by intelligently discussing the points, then they always deviate the topic and kick their audiences in the guts with cancer and war stories. A very low, cheap tactic indeed.

  • The other side has been known to do it also. It gets the point across.

  • Indiana, I hope you understand what a treasure you have in Mr Pence. If you don't, please release him so he can move and represent my state of South Carolina.

  • Speaking for myself, being from Indiana. You can have him, we don't want the nut job!!!!

  • @almweb2083 We don't need him in South Carolina - we already have "You Lie" Wilson, Jim Deminted, and Mark Sanfraud.

  • @Alvin691 You're absolutely right on Congressman Mike Pence. But one thing ... I think he'll move to Texas first - then maybe South Carolina .. too bad our two states aren't allowed to share representatives. LOL .. :)

  • If Pence doesn't like our freedom loving nation, he is free to move to another country.

  • Isn't it bad enough that we have Wilson, Deminted and Sanfraud?

  • We love him here! He's a wonderful representative!

  • I'll help him pack and move if he wants to go to SC. He's an embarrassment. But I guess he is still better than what you have in South Carolina.

  • @loonacy2007

    yeah i bet you would

  • Simply amazing

My freedom is worth more then any amount someone can put on it. I lost family fighting for my freedom. I hope they didnt die in vain
