Might want to calm down there. If you're a PC owner with a small degree of common sense, then viruses won't ever be a problem. The best antivirus program in the world (Avast) is 100% free. Even if it weren't, the most expensive one is $100, which is a far cry from Apple selling hardware at $1000 more than a PC that can still beat it in benchmarking tests. Why do you think Apple benchmarks Macs against other Macs, and never against PCs? They know they'd lose.

The many ridiculously insufficient OS iterations has created nothing but confusion for both customers & software companies. I do AV work, my new i7 machine (& new ASUS P8Z68-V Pro MB) completely blows away my G5 - at half the cost.

So if no one cares about hardware specs, then how is one computer better than the other to the average person? All new Macs are using the latest i-series Sandy Bridge processors. So, they're not "slow".
Macs are easier to use for the average person. Plus OS X doesn't suffer from registry clogging like Windows 7 does -- slowing down the computer after a few months.

I have a MacBook Air & a rendering PC that runs OS X and Windows 7. I've been using W7 since beta. W7 at it's core is still Vista's step-brother, and gets affected by registry slow downs.
Maybe it doesn't happen for you, but for the vast majority, it does.
If you consider the huge gap between built-in softwares on a MAC and those on a PC, you'd know that PCs would be shit more expensive than macs because of the price you'd need to pay to get equivalent softwares. Additionaly, the 2500 macbook isn't the best macbook. a 1500$ one, which is the smallest macbook with the most powerful processor, is faster than the 2500. The reason you pay more is because of the bigger screen (the most expensive part of any laptop, in fact)

Apple NEVER focuses on many projects that have a good chance to work, they work on a very few amount of projects that are ASSURED to work well. So if no one cares about hardware specs, then how is one computer better than the other to the average person? All new Macs are using the latest i-series Sandy Bridge processors. So, they're not "slow".
Macs are easier to use for the average person. Plus OS X doesn't suffer from registry clogging like Windows 7 does -- slowing down the computer after a few months.

I have a MacBook Air & a rendering PC that runs OS X and Windows 7. I've been using W7 since beta. W7 at it's core is still Vista's step-brother, and gets affected by registry slow downs.
Maybe it doesn't happen for you, but for the vast majority, it does.

If you consider the huge gap between built-in softwares on a MAC and those on a PC, you'd know that PCs would be shit more expensive than macs because of the price you'd need to pay to get equivalent softwares. Additionaly, the 2500 macbook isn't the best macbook. a 1500$ one, which is the smallest macbook with the most powerful processor, is faster than the 2500. The reason you pay more is because of the bigger screen (the most expensive part of any laptop, in fact)

Apple NEVER focuses on many projects that have a good chance to work, they work on a very few amount of projects that are ASSURED to work well. In my town everthing is pretty much new, because the Germans bombed the living shit out of this port town because we have a neval base here(was built in the 18th century) So we were a strategic point and posed a risk for the German fleet. And after WWII, our local government removed things with historic value like old townsquares etc. Pretty sad, because I love history and historic things, so I hate it when they destroy or remove it.

@Ucsemis So let's buy an imac!So i configured an imac in the apple online store.It's got a 27 inch screen with led blacklighting.And a Hd webcam. And a core i7 3.4 Ghz SANDYBRIDGE processor.With 8 Gb of ram. (you forgot to calculate the ram into your price). ATI 6970 2 gigs.And all that is for 2500$ So how about this?

@vajksziget7a Still can get cheaper. About 1800 dollars for a PC like that.
Plus a little overclocking, and It makes that iMac look like a piece of shit.
