I used this just to show my 4-year-old nephew how his marble machine works. What's funny is that not only was he amazed, but so was I! I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying that we really appreciate all of your videos.
I went to your website to buy the plans for this, but it turns out i have to purchase the plans for the marble machine as well when i don't, so i was wondering if you could make it purchasable on is on. Thanks
Wow! You are amazing at explaining things with terrific accuracy. my husband and I and 3 of our children sat here enjoying this very much. We love marbles in our house. Thank you for sharing your talents and intelligence with us.
It seems to me that by far the weakest point here is the coathanger wire. Wouldn't the torque produced by the friction of the wood and the weight of the stack of marbles be able to bend this thin wire rather quickly? It's already weakened by your bending it. I imagine replacing it would be a nightmare,
Thank you for sharing this. I'm reminded of Bob Ross (minus the afro): Straight forward and almost meditative information. You make a person want to run out a buy a drill press.
only 14 dollars we could totally afford that and i will tell my mom right away because I usually make marble machines usings cardboard and its no fun at all. Ialways dreamt to have one of those machines and its going to happen i checked the website looked for theprice then it made a big grin on my face i was like OMG only14 dollars???!!!
you mean we will build the machine like a square piece of wood then we have to cut it all or all the pieces are already inside the box then we just have to assemble it?

Seeing all the machinery you use to do this outstanding job, I'm surprised you got all 10 fingers intact! I know a lot of people who lost 2 or 3 fingers in accidents while doing just what you're doing but you seem to take great care and put safety first. Keep up with the good work... it brings fond memories of my childhood, playing with my father...

You knonw some one is goingto pick this up, make it in china out of cheep plastic and get rich off of your marble racer.
I have been into marble racing for years and have a ton of stuff (all plastic) I have a little bit of every brand and style. Ther is nothing out there that stacks on itself like what you have created in your stackable racers. You have made marble LEGO and I want some! My woodworking skill is under par to make them. I wish you well.

@Matthiaswandel I'm guessing that is because you don't have to make exact measurements or set up the lathe, you can just cut away at the piece and adjust the sizing/roundness as you go?
@Matthiaswandel What is the tool you used to whittle the dowel? And also, would it not have been easier to use a knife to taper the edges? Clever design ^_^
@TehSmeely Actually, there's really no need for the "dowl" to be round, as long as it fit in the hole it could be square, round or any where in between.
Hey - couldnt you just get a dowell(?) a bit smaller, or is it nessasary for it to be exact?
