@PunjabiSikhRajput1 do you know what the word punjab means? punj ab means land of five in farsi so how can you say punjab has no islamic roots when the origin of the word itself is given by muslims i am a jatt sikh but give credit where it belongs and go to pakistani punjab people speak punjabi there in rural areas and come to indian punjab where ONLY SIKHS speak punjabi and follow this culture hindu people never were and are not and will never be punjabi as much as muslim and sikhs

@Amardeep661 I think you need to review what you have stated there, in indian punjab sikhs alone do not speak punjabi, in fact the MANY HINDUs there are pure punjabis. The true ancestors of the sikh foundation, what do you think Sikhs were formed out of nowhere? The foundation was from hindu families. The cultures are virtually identical. if you think "hindu people never were and are not and will never be punjabi as much as muslim and sikh" then good luck to you, hope you welcome them open arms

Good stuff! I'm lifelong American, but thanks to the Internet I've been able to see many different types of folk music and I especially like Punjab music and dance. It has a lot of energy and melody. Try American folk music, like Mac Wiseman and "Dailey and Vincent" if you are interested. Different than Punjab music but also good. Good fortune and long life to each of you.

@imrana106 Thats gud... but in East Punjab punjabi is spoken in offices and schools as well... there has been some intrusion of sanskrit and urdu in Punjabi in indian and pakistani punjab... I think those words should be eliminated and Punjabi shoulld be kept in pure form

@imrana106 true...pakistan has the highest population of punjabi speakers in the world.... the only sad thing is it's not recognized as an official language in the province, nor is there any effort being made in schools to teach kids their mother tongue..... very few people know how to write correctly in punjabi .... when will the pakistani government do something about this

@divyasnavi nah, its punjabi. but now india is trying its best to be punjabi. i see now this delhi/mumbai etc guys try to act & talk punjabi. they learn a couple of words of punjabi out of hindi movies & tell ppl they r punjabi,lol. I have seen them using punjabi words of which they dont know real meaning. Looks so stupid & offensive to us punjabis, bollywood is messing with punjabi culture. e.g. words like 'khasma nu khaani' out of one song/movie of Karina kapoor, is like cursing out ppl..
