Dejan Savicevic is one of the most underrated players of the 90′s. Injury-prone and inconsistent in his performances, he never developed into the decisive player at AC Milan that, given his enormous raw talent, he should have become. But he produced enough bursts of genius that, even today, watching a video of Savicevic dribbling past defenders in his strange, snakelike, devlish style, is sure to blow your socks off.
Amazing dribbling but so few goals so a big question mark about his effectiveness of contributing to the team. Michael Laudrup would be a better example of effective, efficient and beautiful football.
can't work out what would be more frustrating - to be a team mate waiting for him to pass the ball or a fan waiting for one of the mazy runs to end in a goal
@kingfaff Good observation, I have to agree. Savicevic was a natural, raw talent but he wasn't consistent and effective enough. You could only inherit the ball from him.
his dribblin was amazing, n he wasnt a short guy like messi, he was a tall player n u can see what he was capable with the ball!! amazing! ill genio!!
@MsMarxus he was underrated by the media,unlike messi, this guy wasnt a short player and he had a great dribbling!! fuck messi!! savicevic the best!!
4 different times in this video he seemed to pass the ball off of the opposing players shins and back to himself!! Pele was famous for this move. Is it my imagination or did Savicevic actually do this trick again and again!?????
WOW! Will you believe it!?!? In terms of pure ball control when dribbling throughout the history of the game few have ever been on this level. There is no player playing today that has this level of dribbling, you could argue Messi but Savicevic's seems a little more polished than that.
@nex0801 Of course Ive heard of them! I love all these players as well! Theyre ball control is beyond what we see these days. Yugoslavian players are some of the most underrated throughout the history of the game! Now let me ask you! Have you ever heard of Dragoslav Sekularac, Milos Milutinovic, Stiejpan Bobek, Bernard Vukas, Dragan Dzajic? Hard to find videos on them but you will see they had that amazing dribbling and ball control!! Some of the best ive ever seen!! Greetings as well friend!
Vukas played for Hajduk Split, Bobek for Partizan, Šekularac and Džajić for the Red Star.
Džajić is considered as the best Yugoslavian player of all time and one of the best left wings in the football history. Yugoslavia always had great football players...
@nex0801 Thats right Dzajic is considered the best by many! Definitely the best crosser ever!!! but I have also heard a lot of people who think milutinovic (Plava Cigra) was the best! He played a lot like cruyff!! He is Partizan legend though!! Your a Red Star fan so I understand you find Dzajic the best! Dzajic is also a little more famous due to his goal against england in 68!
@pirlobattousai i agree i think savicevic has a plus since he isnt a short guy as messi, usually short players have a great dribblin but dejan wasnt a short guy, so for me savicevic is better than messi .
One of the best players ever. At 3:29 are you f***ing kidding me. You know who that was that Dejan made look like a kid. What skill!!! Something like Diego!!!
@APMUMBP savicevic is savicevic i hate comparison like the maradona of balkans i hate that!! savicevic is savicevic!! ill genio and a better player than maradona.
i always wonder why savicevic has such a low profile, his dribbling is so smooth that players like c.ronaldo dont seems to deserve the reputation as a good dribbler
Najjaci dribler Jugoslovenskog fudbala a i mnogo sire. Hvala ti DEJO!!!!!
Da danas imamo jednog Deja, mirnije bih uoci derbija spavao. ;D

LoanSharkOfBliss 2 weeks ago
@LoanSharkOfBliss Perhaps he was better dribbler than CR7 (Although CR7 is a better player), but Messi is far the best between them.
Sorry for my bad english. :(

That's incredible. He was making fools of opposing players just to have some fun!
A true entertainer. Is there footage of him juggling with his knees and shoulders and lobbing other players for fun?
perfectsight447 1 year ago
@perfectsight447 Maybe,
The typical one is a scene of the score recorded against PSG of 94/95 CL though it doesn't understand whether to become an answer of your question.
At that time,he failed in the trap of the first touch but he using both of the thigh and the knee so Ricardo Gomes was defeated by the feint.

perfectsight447 1 year ago 2
@perfectsight447
It's one of the typical tricks of him.
He applies the ball to other DF's foot by intention and uses it like the wall passing.
And his ball control ability was excellent so the mistake of the trapping was able to change to a feint.
