daugherty's kind of bowling is incredibly streaky... i've bowled with a number of guys like this in my leagues, and granted none of them have been on tv on the tour, but, when it's on, they carry everything and can roll 250's, 260's or 270's, but, when they aren't, well... you see what it can result in...
I love American announcers in any sport wrangling with a foreign name...especially French and Fin...it's pronounced Koy-vu-neemie, not nee-emie...Guys you rock, but get the pronunciation right...respectful to the players.
it sucks that this is all that he is rememberd for it doesent seem like any one will take him seriously agian we have all thrown horrible games and he came from nowhere he had to be nervous he really does seem to know what he is doing to get THIS far poor guy
@XxStrongDrums1996xX Thank you for your reply. A 120 with 9 strikes is possible; improbable, but it can happen. Here's how, and each number is the frame...
Two strikes in 1 & 2, then two gutterballs in 3...Score: 20 30 30
Two strikes in 4 & 5, two more gutterballs in 6...Score: 50 60 60
Two strikes in 7 & 8, two more gutterballs in 9...Score: 80 90 90
Three strikes in the ninth, and you have a 120 with nine strikes...
A question to bowling fans: You can roll 9 strikes in a game, and end up with a score of 120. It can happen. After this query sinks in, I'll post the answer in a few days, and we'll see if you can figure out how this is possible...
Holy Crap I worked as a lane Mechanic for Royal Lanes when I was 17 I didnt know he had a proshop there used to be Dave Titer. Im glad to see someone new took that over
@ 76dced Tracking over the thumb is caused by having a very high track area on your ball and when the core starts to turn it could flare over the thumb. Is your thumb close to the side of the ball when you release? If it is try a different hand position that allows you to put your thumb closer to the back of the ball as opposed to the side of it. You'll still have a high track, but it should print the ball from flaring over the thumb. If that doesn't work or is too uncomfortable, talk to your l
Anyone else used to be two fingered and started using thumb and have a track over the thumbhole? I have a video on here... you can see I still get the ball to turn and keep power but it gets on my nerves lol
@mordanai well palm bowling CAN be a very good style of bowling... buuuuuut its not the most controlled... in fact i cant control it at all... use the thumb tom. (yoda voice)
@supermonkeyballboy I'm not a hundred percent sure on this, but this is probably the only match on tv that contained no spares from either bowler as well.
you all act like he is some random dude, his ball reaction was money throughout practice, and when your nervous because its you're first time on TV, let alone a major, your brain doesnt process things as well as they do when you are normally bowling. he wasnt throwing bad shots just his ball was jumping too hard off the breakpoint. Remember he had to get through match-play to get to top seed, the guy is good
@supermonkeyballboy It was actually 129. Which was pretty hard to watch. lol. A portion of that game by Jaros is actually posted online by "mikedamian2"
Tom, you earned every bit of this 100 game. You threw the same ball, on the same line, on both lanes, even seeing that it was getting you in trouble. How did you get to be a pro, and not know that you need to make adjustments? Ben Franklin said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result. You didnt do a thing to try to turn this game around.
I'm not sure how these no thumb players and two handed players get so good I tried them both and it just felt weird lol I really wanted Duke to make this telecast.
@agratias716 im a no thumb player and i agree with you it is very weird and i cant break the habit for nothing. but it just feels right for me.. i use to b a straight bowler then some guy told me how to ball with no thumb and thats pretty much what i stuck to. but i bowl very well.
Its not as accurate but some people can make it work, its all really about being able to put the same amount of revs, and hitting your mark everytime, ive seen more crazy stuff check out matthew jones bowling on here you'll see what I mean.
HAHA Mika`s mission domination is mine now :)

...whoa...72 games for Tom Daugherty...it takes me two months to roll that many games. He was so composed and gracious during that match.

@nickellicker It isn't possible to bowl a 120 with 9 strikes in a single game.

No seriously, it was just his first time on TV. When you make the TV finals and average 220 for 72 games, then you can insult him.
Until then, shut your ignorant face.

@MaxLimt90 No you're not. You didn't average over 220 for 72 games to make tv.

@MaxLimt90 $5 says you've never bowled on anything other then a house shot and probably have no clue about different oil patterns.
