  • mixer is awesome, sounds better than pioneer's

  • nice

  • very good tutorial ;)

  • hey guys need some help!! can you use 1d or 2d with a numark 5000 fx does it work with any mixer or it has 2 be a allen & heath mixer?and if it works do i have to have a software or u just plug them 2 the mixer and that's ok? i'm getting better equiment and i can't afford a xone 3d right now since i'm saving money for my denom cd player 3700s adding this will be awesome thanks for your help and your time !!!

  • @technoaddict83 I don't think you really understand what those things are, the 1D and 2D are MIDI-Controllers. They send MIDI signals to the computer (Mac or PC) and that way you can manipulate your DJ software. The 2D also has an internal soundcard, so you can use headphones and connect the device to an mixer/amplifier. Hit me up if you have questions :)

    -DJ Remco

  • @remcopeg to be honest i don't understand thats why i'm looking for some help and i also don't wanna buy something that it wont' work with what i have, i was asking cuz i saw on the net that you can buy them separately just the midi controllers cuz i know they work with NI scratch software what about the mixer numark 500fx does it work with scratch? thanks for your help!!!

  • whATS THE SONG AT 1:52

  • I still get out my turntables from time to time, but why? its a lost art. I much rather MIDI to keep things simple. A DJ's job it to entertain, not to make things difficult for himself just to keep a dead technology alive. Hate if you want, this is the future and I embrace it!

  • @strutssound sync is gay.

  • i see the responsing time on xone 1d was a little bit too late when you go down the fader 0:41 and when you stop/play the track 1:53. why that happend? lagging of the operating system or something else?

  • PLAYLIST PLEASE

  • @petethepedo You do make me laugh...

  • @petethepedo. well then get out your turntables and mix exclusively with vinyl. those cue buttons and compact mp3's are just another way of "cheating"

  • @petethepedo ive been beatmatching for 15 years. Production for 3. Time to move on with djing and make it interesting again. This is the next level...

  • @petethepedo dj s that use traktor and other computer stuff are pass the point of just beat matching and let songs run out to just to mix another one in.. there are more things can do then worried about matching a beat

  • @petethepedo what a completely retarded comment!! ha ha ha hahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha how absolutely hilarious

  • @petethepedo

Get your head out of the 1980s.

  • @petethepedo

    pete hte pedo?

    DOnt take his advice.

  • hi. can i use the 2d with timecode? i mean to plug the players in the input of the 2d and use the output to go in my mixer

  • What software are you using?

  • @mrcuss NI traktor pro 1.2.4

  • No then!

The 2D never got Traktor certification as it was too close to their own Audio8 sound card.

Obviously you can use it as a MIDI controller but you would require an external sound card with Traktor certification to use time encoded vinyl.

  • @mrcuss so would be a better choice the 1d and audio 8 dj?

  • Yes mate.

  • @mrcuss ok. thank you very much.

  • hmmm would it be wise to use 1d, 2d, and a kontrol x1 from native instuments? all together

  • i need the first song they play o:

  • What is the remix of the song called 'cool' at 5:00 onwards. thanks

  • Hi please help. I want to buy the 2d, but i need to know if it can control both decks of tracktor aand also if the sound card will work with tracktor or if i need to add audio 4 or 8. thanks

  • Yes the 2D can control both decks due to it having a 'Shift' function. This lets you map every control on the surface twice.

If you are using time encoded vinyl then you will need to use one of Native Instruments Audio devices as the 2D isnt Scratch certified.

  • there are videos of people using the xone 4d as the soundcard for timecode working

I am not sure if any soundcard with an input works for timecoding but the 2d has input for 2 stereo signal wich COULD work but if mrcuss says it doesn't work he/they will propably know it since they have it

  • @Frace91 Pretty much any ASIO (for windows) or Core-audio (Mac) soundcard will work for timecode on Traktor, as far as I know. I have a friend who uses the M-Audio Fast Track Pro for timecode, which is definitely not scratch certified. I have a Hercules RMX, which I haven't hooked turntables up to, but it works when I tried selecting it for timecode input.

  • hi guys just wondering if anybody knows a way to use a xone 2d or other controller to actually browse/bring in clips from the ableton browser (like in traktor)?? hopefully the mouse isn't the only way to do that? hope somebody has the answer! ! thanks

  • To my knowledge you cant browse or load clips using MIDI control.

  • im thinking of buying a xone 1d or xone 2d.

but im not sure what the big difference between them are.

is it that xone 2d has a soundcard in it, and xone1d dont?

if im using the xone 1d on my computer with an averenge soundcard in it. is that just as good as xone 2d?

  • The biggest difference is obviously the Sound card but the 2D also has a 'Shift' mode button, allowing you to re-map the entire surface giving you 87 mappable controls.

  • @mrcuss

    so the 1D is premapped?

i can map the 1D as i want right?

  • what is the song 5:15 onwards

  • @digitally2007

    It's a remix of Afrojack - Cool

  • Hi, I have a macbook pro with ableton and a nice M-audio profire 610 soundcard, I was gonna get a xone 32 mixer and a 1D, but now think I might just get 2 xone 1D's. If your going just digital do you think a mixer is necesarry, can the 1D do midi eq just as well?

  • Having an analog mixer for digital mixing has no benefit unless you intend to incorporate another audio source like a CD player or turn table into your mix and assigning EQ controls via MIDI is fine as long as you have enough controls. 4 channels worth of EQ is a lot of controls used up just for EQ.

  • Hi, can the jog dial on the 1D be used to cue and scratch a track like a platter. Like the vestax vci 100

  • Yes. As long as the software your using allows a MIDI control to be mapped to the Transport or Scratch features.

  • i am thinkin of purchasing two 1ds to controller 4 decks on trackor and all my effects..will i need a special type of mixer ,,or can i jus use the one im using now its a beringer 750djx.....please wb to me thanks!

  • The 1D's will control the software but you will need an audio interface (SoundCard).

you could get 1 x 1D and 1 x 2D if you don't already have an Audio interface

  • What's the name of the track that kicks in at 7:56 ??

    THanks

  • There are many variations and it is all dependant on your personal requirements.

The 2D is a combined controller and Audio interface, essential in a digital set-up.

Controller for the software and obviously the sound card for the Audio.

So to answer your question, Yes you can combine your mixer with the 2D allowing the 2D to control the parameters of the software.

  • Ok thanks so much. So far it looks like one of the best on the market as far as software-compatible MIDI controllers are concerned. Suprisingly not much talk about them though, and even the xone 3 or 4D. Anyways thanks for that bit of info :)

  • Just like felipeaca, im curious to know how the 2D is incorporated in the setup of a laptop and an analog mixer?

Could it be possible to connect my mixer (Numark M1) to the 2D and then into the computer (to be used with Traktor Pro)with the usb?

Note, the 2D would be assigned for looping and effects for 2 decks..

  • ok, i´m new in this.

What is the function of the xone 92 or xone 42 in a digital dj setup?

I´m planning to buy a xone 2D but i´ve seen some guys adding any of the mentioned above. I suppose you connect the 2D to the computer and then via MIDI to the main mixer and then... you have what...? a super MIDI controler? will it serve just for connecting analog stuff?

  • does anyone know if you can control the eq from the xone 2d using traktor pro?.. thats my only concern. I want to be able to have eq controls from the xone 2d. thanks for any responses!

  • Yes. Just map them as you would any other MIDI control

  • Nice setup. How do you connect the audio interface and 2x 1D/2D to a macbook pro with only 2 USB ports ? Would the NI Audio 4DJ be a good soundcard to this setup ?

  • The Xone:2D is an Audio Interface. No need for the 4DJ. Check it out on the xone site.

  • You have the most annoying hands. Good job though.

  • Great Video guys! Whats the name of that last track?

  • can i ask what the deconstruction effect you use it. nice video. thanks

  • great video thanks alot! using traktor now and im about to buy the 2d with an 42 :) can u tell me the name of the track @ 6:25? awesome

  • What would you choose: An Eks Otus or a Xone 2D?

  • 2d for sure

  • I don't think the Otus has a sound card, i may be wrong. The main draw of the 2D is it has a built in soundcard, but if you have a soundcard already (with 2 or more outputs) it may be worth looking at a 1D. if you need a soundcard, get a 2D!

  • Good video guys, considering getting setup like this - and you provided a good demo :)

    so,

    NICE ONE!!!

  • hehe,,,its 12 buttons not 16 at 5:46 ;)

  • If you already use Traktor and CDJs then the 1D is a logical step in your setup. It will enhance your performance and take you head out of your laptop while giving you many more configurable rotary encoders and faders to play with.

You configure the 1D / CDJ MIDI to suit you and your style of playing and if setup correctly they wont interfere with each others MIDI.

    Example:

    CDJ = MIDI CH 16

    Xone:1D = MIDI CH 15

    No Problems...

  • im about to purchase a 1d. not too sure though because i would like to incorporate with a cdj or two. But if i do order this, whats the point of using a cdj with midi along with traktor. can i assign a cdj to a specific deck without this midi controller interfering with another midi unit like a cdj.

  • can this setup connect to 2x cdj800mk2?

  • got MID and USB

  • Last Track, please!

  • Ableton Live

  • what software were you using?

  • No i dont think so...

It hasnt got any MIDI / USB has it.

  • do you need a laptop to use the xone 1d ?

  • No. Any device that receives MIDI either via USB or MIDI cable can be controlled by the 1D

  • thank u

  • does a behringer 750 DJX can do it ?

  • hey, the video has been a good help in setting up my xone 1d. what effect did u assign to the rotary wheel? and which is the best way to assign loop functions?

  • Conect the second 1D via MIDI to the 1st 1D.

  • how do you connect two 1D´s to run traktor pro? do you connect 1D to mixer channel also?

  • If you select the MIDI button and enter 'MIDI Map Mode' you should notice top right, just under the 'Stop Clip'.

4 buttons appear. 'Scene Launch' 'Up' Down' and 'Scene Select'.

This is where you map your controls for your clips.

    Hope this helps.

    Cuss...

  • thanks!

  • how do you midi map the rotary encoder on the xone 2d to scrub through and select the clips? can't seem to figure that one out

  • I have a decent sound card and I made the mistake of buying a Vestax VCI-100 off eBay. I really don't like the feel of it at all. I sold my Xone62 a couple of years ago but I'll be getting another one soon.

  • I'm new to all the world of digital mixing so was wondering if you need to have 2 or either units or can you just use 1? Thanks

  • Depending on what you already have you can just use a controller to control the software but if you need a soundcard then you need a Xone:2D which has a 10 channel Soundcard inside.

  • hey guys, is this setup similar to just having a xone 3d?

  • Very similar yes...

Only 3 band EQ on the 3D mind.

  • Left hand FTL

  • Tis the future right there.

Get a large Hard Drive packed with Wav files,

Ableton Live + Vsts, and your choice of control.

I still beleive in having a vinyl disc for that extra manipulation alongside a midi or audio controller.

  • name of the first tune is..Filth & Splendour - SONAR (kieran Brindley & Calvertron Remix) Mass Recordings;)

  • thanx m8 :)

  • Vary vary cool Thx for the vid!

  • whats the name of the first tune?

  • i want buy a xone 2d for use traktor with 4 decks...if i understand good, i can buy a xone 2d and only traktor pro (NOT TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO) because the sound card is inside the xone 2d...right??...thanks for the answers!!!

  • Thats correct:

Traktor Pro and the 2D are fine and by using the 'SHIFT' feature of the 2D you can use 4 decks in Traktor.

Traktor Pro has a new method of mapping its functions and is now a little more difficult to map to your control surface but apart from that, they will work very well together.

  • thx man!!greetings from italy!!

  • anyone know what program they're using?

  • Ableton Live

  • I have ableton I there session view looked a little different from mine. You wouldn't happen to know the effects that they use when they loop or roll out the beat kind of like you can on a pioneer djm 800 mixer. I've been trying to achieve this effect with ableton but haven't quite figured it out.

  • can u give me the whole tracklisting, that's seriously cool

  • what's the track at 7:00 - it's a great old tune, but i can't remember what it is. If anyone knows it would be very much appreciated.

  • Guess you mean "Axwell - I found u".

  • nice one, yeah

  • Must be a remix..

  • actually i just want that last track, that mix is sick

  • send me that mix please or tell me where i can get it. nice. cheers. good vid

  • these guys are only sctaching the surface.ive been using 2 xone 1d,s for 8 months and they rock my world :)

  • the name of track please???

  • At present Traktor 3 wont recognise the Xone:2D interface as an (Analogue to Digital Converter) so your digital vinyl wont work through it as it did with your Serato unit.

Traktor will however recognise the MIDI from the 2D so you are able to control Traktor via MIDI using the 2D.

  • The Xone:2D will recognise digital encoded vinyl and digital encoded CD's as they are just digital audio streams. Effectively your just routing the signal to the PC using the 2D.

The question is weather your audio software will recognise the Xone:2D as an audio device allowing you to control the software using its MIDI functionality.

What audio software are you using?

  • Hi there ^^

Im using Traktor 3 whitch workin with D2 (I think so).

I sold my Serato unit, but i still have two code vinyls and if they will controll my Traktor via D2 as same as via Serato Scratch than that is more than Gr8 !!

So for make me shure... if ill connect my decks directly to D2 and than directly to coputer, than i can use MIDI functions and i can scratch as well ??

    Thx for reply

    mark

  • Hi Guys.

I just wonderin is it poss to connect my Timecode vinyls to one of inputs in Xone:2D and controling Traktor without any other stuff (i mean without this usual case whitch is needed to use timecode vinyls) ??

Bcause i really luv to "toutch music"... and it will B gr8 to use MIDI controller plus Vinyl mode.

  • hi, can you please tell me what's the track that plays when you use the x-fader
