  • Please marry me...just a little <3

  • Comment removed

  • @Ravenelvenlady Its called torchwood

  • I noticed that this version is more laid back, melodious, and in a higher key. I really nice and different interpretation. I've been used to John in Dr. Who and that other show I can't remember the name of (the spin off from Dr. Who, LOL).

  • Scott is a very very lucky guy. <3

  • He seems a little too stiff on the song. I wish he would of let it flow more. Raul was better in that respect on this song for me.

  • @shpidoinkleboy I think I like Raul's acting and his voice better, but I think John has much better technique.

  • Gorgeous, hilarious, amazing actor...and he can sing. Life's not fair! Why does he have to be gay!!??

  • @RhpsFan because he's a gorgeous, hilarious, amazing actor?

  • @RhpsFan I kinda like the fact that he's gay. He's a lot more fun than some out of touch straight guy.

    nobody else watch this!

  • I can honestly say as a male, John is a sexy guy.

  • His face is so perfect. I swear I can't find anything on his face that's unpleasabt. He probably has a hairy mole on his buttcrack.

  • @MaximilianMontesa It'd be the hottest hairy mole ever though, damn him.

  • Ladies... there's only one of him and one of me. After he's taken, you can mob me with your attention.

  • OMG! I just stumbled over this and WOW! I had no idea Cap'n Jack could sing. I loved John for Dr. Who and Torchwood. Now... OMG!! He sings! I love it!!

  • I'm a straight guy, and I don't care who you are, you would do it with Captain Jack Harkness.

  • @Jfireprime My brother was flipping out when he wiggled his eyebrows.

    I think he's straight... O_o

  • It should be illegal for him to be that gorgeous! He's my idol!

  • Wow... He's a real good singer, can hit the right notes and cracked twice yet it didn't phase him at all

  • omigawd the eyebrows heh heh hehe

  • That man should not be able to be that attractive. It's like... It breaks the laws of EVERYTHING

  • @Kiratoya - Absolutely agree, but he is just starting to age a bit in Torchwood:Miracle Day series 4 on Starz/BBC this summer. As like most really handsome/beautiful people who take care of themselves, he is aging quite well. This video was from a stint on Broadway in a Sondheim review called "Putting It Together" from 1998.

  • He kind of reminds me of Chip Esten from Whose Line.

  • Damn but if he doesn't have a cleft in his chin that you need rappelling equipment to attack!

  • omg i wanna see him as bobby in Company. he woudl be breath taking. god i love this song so much more now

  • 3:48 - 4:03 all on one breath. haha i thought that was cool.

  • watching this make me so happy i feel i might explodeXDXDXDXDXD

  • he's a born performer, always aware of the audience. 0:44 he's totally hamming it up for the camera <3

  • Putting It Together? Isn't this from Company? At least that's where I know this song. Or did Sondheim do something else with this song?

  • @suicidebomberbarbie Putting It Together is a Sondheim Musical Medly, it takes songs from his other works and puts them together in a new story, kind of like Kander&Ebb's The World Goes Round =)

  • @suicidebomberbarbie

Ahh, that makes sense! They do a lot of Sondheim revues, it's hard to keep track of them all, lol

  • he's so young here~

  • 1:56

    "someone marry me"

OH OH OH MEMEMEMEMEMEEEEEE!! *jumps up and down like a freak*

  • Gorgeous then, GORGEOUS now!! Unff!! i want him!!

  • and i thought Ianto (Garreth David Lloyd) looked good in red... DAMN! Anyone notice in 2:45 Carol Burnett cant stop staring at his ass?

  • Comment removed

  • John can soooooooo sing this to me, I can't stop watching this !!!!

  • Raul and John play DIFFERENT characters! It's absolutely different versions. And they both are awesome.

  • I was about to comment saying he looks like he was sculpted by the gods and then I saw somebody beat me to it! Its the voice, the eyes, the perfect ass, and his entire presence. This is my favorite recording of this song.

  • Anyone know where I could get a video of his whole performance as Bobby? I honestly think he's perfect for the role, I've gotta see it!

  • He looks like a Disney prince

  • @tatifruitloops TOTALLY OH GOD. <3

  • @tatifruitloops As far as I'm concerned... he's my Doctor Who/Torchwood sexi bad ass amazing Prince <3 <3

  • What year was this? He looks so young! :P

  • Wow! I didn't know he could sing. I thought he was great in the Torchwood series.

  • @WeLoveActing I very nearly said "I will" while watching this.

  • its like his face was sculpted by angels.

  • I love the way he is singing with his arms in the end... So damn dramatic(and camp)

    x)

  • Oh, honey, I'll marry you as much as you want. More if you'll allow it... WHY is he so hot???

  • No, no. I'll marry you a LOT.

  • @HaraldJoe69, It might just be me and not wanting to get into a slanging match, but people are in love with John because :

    1) He's just damn sexy, 2) his voice is heart melting and makes you weak at the knees, 3) has a damn gorgeous ass 4) looks amazing in red

and I think John and Raul are as good as each other and lyrics are open to interpretation :D

  • Oh my god.

He is so freaken good looking in this, talented to!

  • I didn't know he could get any sexier!

  • He looks a lot like Cillian Murphy lol.

  • Just adore the eyeliner - and red IS his colour ;)

  • I have been married for 33 years now!! I,m over ready!! but remember the first few years of a gay relationship I was ready then!! this song is perfect!! thank you john barrowman! I,m still married!! still!

  • hes no raul

  • @BabyBoyAK9 Raul sings it better and understands the lyrics better. People only like John Barrowman because he looks like a C-List Tom Cruise lookalike.

  • This was shot in '99, right?

Is it just me, or is that the same set from the '98 production of Company?

  • Johnny. You're so beautiful. But pleasepleasepleasePLEASE stop pushing your high notes! You don't have to! You have them!

  • omg he looks so young here,,,n gorgeous

  • Oh. My. God. That was freaking amazing. He is gorgeous!!! *swoons*

  • YUM, YUM , YUM!!! Especially at the beginning when he looks right at ya! Ssswwwoooooonnn!!!

  • Um....Wow....I'm bloody speechless he's that good!

  • I saw Mr Barrowman in a revival of the show this was taken from. But unfortunately I didn't get the chance to see this revue. This is a great performance. I noticed even Ms Burnett was moved as he sang "keep me company". It is no wonder this would have brought down the house.

  • He looks young here... what year was this?

  • @heartears - This is from the recording of the Broadway production of a revue of Stephen Sondheim songs called "Putting It Together", about an older couple's relationship (Carol Burnett & George Hearn) and then a reflection of their younger couple selves (John Barrowman & Ruthie Henshall). The revue ran for about a year in the 1999-2000 Broadway season, and the recording was done at one of the later performances. There is a dvd called "Putting It Together" which can be bought online.

  • oh hello there higher quality version of this song :3

  • That's all the hairspray in Mesquite and then some.

  • If Tom Cruise and Ian Somerhalder ( Damon from Vampire Diaries) had a lovechild it would look exactly like John Barrowman! He's singing is a bonus :)

  • Can you imagine this man singing something to you, looking into your eyes?! Wow. I almost faint just to imagine it! *-*

  • Gods, is he gorgeous!!!

  • First of all..."Company" is a GREAAAAAAAAT play (the show this song is from).

Secondly, John Barrowman is the most beautiful thing ever.

    Thirdly, I adore Carol Burnett

    Lastly, I love this video.

Oh...and btw...30 people were blinded by beauty and accidentally hit the dislike button.

  • god, he`s hot !!!!!

  • He is so great. It gives me chills.

  • thats nice.he does have a gorgeous voice!

  • John Barrowman...marry me a little? Yes? :)

  • This, literally, brought tears to my eyes.

  • I hate to say that, but I think those 28 people are stuck in the middle of the last century regarding their opinions on sexual orientation... John openly admits that he is a gay... Although, we're living in the 21st century, some people still cannot accept the basic Rights and Freedoms... ... So sad

.... nevermind... John Barrowman is perfect and there's no doubt about that ^_^

  • I know he's a West End and Broadway star, but I keep seeing him in his Dr. Who/Torchwood role (which I love), and it kind of ruins it for me!

  • Being this gorgeous AND talented should be illegal.

  • WOW. That's all I can think to say about John's performance: WOW.

  • haha turned on the transcribe audio.. this is funny.. it cant pick out correct words, idk why, john is amazing

  • 27 People Are Blind And Don't Have Ears :) xx

  • @XxMyOneTrueLovexX

Now, sadly, somebody who either has extremely clumsy fingers or is blind like you said has managed to press the dislike button.. :( John is a brilliant singer.

  • @BellaWho2580 Now I have 28 people to track down and question... Why God? WHY? x

  • My Friand Likes You John Barrowman

  • I can't wait till john is on Glee. that'sgoing to be awsome. I'm such a fan

  • Hes so perfect.

  • Boy this dude has it all

  • he... sings????

    *Faints*

  • @RubyLestrange

yeah....gorgeous AND a beautiful voice AND a nice guy.....

  • he's sooo gorgeous !!!

  • He's reminding me of Hugh Grant in places

  • This is so beautiful--but my first hearing of it was a jazzy, soft unreleased Harry Nilsson rendition, and nothing could beat that. Has anyone heard it?

  • He is so wonderfull. I´m chocked. Why his name isn´t call for all part this world ?

  • He's so...pretty. XD

  • @Limshauming, no, John was only in the 33 range when this was filmed. He did this show 1999-2000 and he was born in 1967.

  • I iish Dean Jones had recorded this

  • You just can't hate the man.... haha Love this live version

  • about 32-33 I think.

  • @RandomRandommer 40......

  • 40......

  • how old is he here?x

  • Okay...what's everybody's problem with the shirt??? I think it's HOT. Love the color, love that its appearance is of either silk or satin. I think ANY man is sexy in that kind of shirt, and deep red is my favorite color. What's the deal, people? I saw him in that shirt, and I just went, "GUH."

  • He would never win American Idol but I still love him

  • Ok I love John Barrowman but I dont think this song suits him very well. It seems like he's being a little too articulate and it seems more concert-ish rather than musical theatre. It doesn't seem like he's telling the story through the entire song.

  • I love this boy!

  • He has his own style and he does what he does very well.

  • John is always flirty and i love him for that :-)

  • what key is this in? i wanted to do this for an audition in this key but im not a music person so i can't tell what key it's in lol

  • @265aman i want to say Db. it starts in that key but I believe it modulates but it ends in Db.

  • he gives me fricking goosebumps!

    even in that shirt

  • 0:42 eyebrows :)

  • Awesome!

  • He is so dramatic! <3 I love just watching him.

  • He looks at Ruthie so tender.. Nice..

  • John is always great, just not hip on his shirt. That's nit-picky, sorry!!!

  • I saw him live like eight years ago in Better With A Band in Philadelphia. I swear he was singing to me. The gays love me even in a crowd of people. :-) He's terribly talented and it was a great night.

  • Li TT le...annoying.

  • sexy beast!:O

  • this is from company not putting it together

  • @ryan84991 "Putting It Together" was a Sondheim revue.

  • He looks like john travolta haha

  • i'm ready now

  • OMFG he's a sexy BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I WANT TO MARRY HIM<333333333

  • i love this song and the whole musical : D

  • he. is. so. awesome. ♥

  • He's just passed straight through the realm of 'very handsome' straight into 'divine beauty'

Gah. What a gorgeous looking man. WIth an even more gorgeous voice.

  • @doctorwhofangirl22 i think he does have a gorgeous voice!!

  • he's just perfect - marriage is not a passion, it's a decision :)

  • Lol he says

    "Marry me a liTTLE!"

  • I feel like his facial expressions take away from the song. The power of Marry Me a Little needs to be expressed by a passionate singing voice like Raul. However, Barrowman's more soft approach is decent.

  • @parsus153 i understand you completely! I can listen to it as long as im not looking at him because all i see is captain jack and his silly smile...

  • @crosskitelines Haha I so agree.. it just doesn't work together;P

  • Both John and Raul are good, but in different ways.

John sings it as more of a lullaby and softer, Raul has more passion and more seriousness in it.

I like both versions, alot. :)

  • every time he sings "I'm ready!" that little bit that keeps coming up in the song, it's just so amazing that i fall in love with him all over again.

  • amazing!~

  • I love him as a performer, but I agree that he can sing just so-so. But then- so can Madonna ;-)

  • If he were ugly, no one would take him seriously as a singer. He is mediocre ... but pretty.

  • its a nice 430 mins feel good you tube down load x

  • I love JB a lot. I really do. But this is a really over-enunciated performance in many senses of the word. His pronunciation is quite strange in places and too crisp and totally gets in the way of the emotion.

  • .......

    I'm lost.

I found Raul first and I love him.

    But then I found John.....

and I don't know who to love anymore....

..... They're both so... perfect in several perspectives...

  • The beautiful end of the note he starts at 1:00... just kills me.

  • JB ROCKS! He's my role model and idol!!!

  • wow!!! that is so nice .

  • doble u doble wow

  • omg stupid comment but i LOVE that red shirt

his voice is awesome too though lol

  • John, I wish you knew the effect on us women that you have singing with that incredible voice.

  • Comment removed

  • Esparza is a great singer. It's only a question of taste. Somehow Barrowman strikes me as more real. He gives away emotions in his voice. I saw this years ago and only recently found out that he is gay. But that means absolutely nothing. He is definetely professional and great at what he does. Go John!

  • god he's gorgeous, and talented.

  • I just wish he'd been singing it to a man! It was wonderful. What a talent he is...

  • @MagoosShoes I agree!

  • He is good looking, cute and this would have been great if I hadn't seen the sublime Raul Esparza sing it first. Frankly Raul is so strong in this song that I don't think there is anyone out there who can come close.

  • Having read your comment, I've just watched Raúl. He's good but I have to say that I find Barrowman superior in every way (voice, phrasing, acting, projection, involvement etc.). Still, each to their own and all that!

  • John's my idol - a quadruple threat! ...Act, Sing, Dance, & handsome!! The only thing left is to play an insturment onstage ala Sweeney Todd!!!

  • @waynewildey Love the Singin' in the Rain reference. I agree with the quadruple threat thing, too.

  • *melts* Why must he be gay? Fate is cruel.

  • Lovely staging, performance, attire.

  • I love him, and i love this song <3

The tone of his voice is insanely perfect!

  • LOVE it. I have to say, i VERY much enjoyed watching that :-)

  • Its from "Company"

  • what play is this from?

  • This musical is called Company by Stephen Sondheim.

  • thanks drpedics

  • raul isn't as good as a singer

I don't really like this video. I've seen him in a lot of other things and for somereason his eyes look smaller in this video, it's bugging me!

  • raul makes him look amateur

  • okay, so the interpretation (as far as the context of company goes), which may not be relevant, is a little off - but for god's sake, how can you say this isn't the most kick-assedy performance of this song? okay, maybe we should just not compare him and raul. they both exceed in their own slightly different arenas with this song.

eehhhhww and horseteeth burnett at the end there.

i tell you what, i'd marry him a lot.

if only all the good ones weren't gay.
