  • This song reminds me great things...

  • this song, I have very good memories,, :)

  • Very underrated song. When this album came out I thought this song would be as big as One. I don't think it was ever played on the radio.

  • woot i love this tune as well padderz

  • My Love for U2 Is becuase of one amazing man......my father. (I'm 13 btw)<3

  • I wasn't even a teen when my brother was into U2. I spent years, even until I was about 14, whistling U2 songs not even knowing who they were (family travelled a lot in remote places and didn't see much of my brother). Then I found out and was like "my life's complete! I can finally listen to the blasted songs I've been whistling all these years!" lol

  • ...I'm not afraid to die..i'm not afraid to live!!!!

  • U2 > everything.

  • It's amazing how a song can just emotionally destroy you.....it leaves you wrung out...

  • Was playing a gig in The Clarence Hotel (Bono's Hotel) in Dublin there a few weekends ago and the man himself was in so I gave this song a belt for him :D After the set he sent someone to bring me to his table, and said "That was a great version of his song" and then bought me a pint :D Best moment ever

  • I want you to know

That you don't need me anymore

    I want you to know

You don't need anyone or anything at all.

  • Yeah man, my old man used to play U2 and all sorts of classic rock when I was a baby too.

  • I am so glad that my parents played rock and ect in the car, because it opened up my variety of music that I listen to. I actually never listened to U2 before now, and I am sad that it took so long for me to find them.(:

  • Probably my favourite album by U2!

  • Love It.

  • The live version of this song at Slane Castle is heartbreaking.

  • How come you never hear this song on the radio? It's awesome. I guess the radio stations are too busy playing recylced crap.

  • I want you to know... That you don't need me anymore... :'(

  • An outstanding song. Somuch meaning and sentiment brought together wit Bono's live performances,

  • my favorite mason

  • I don't get why this only has 200 thousand views. This is most definitely the best song, they've ever made.

  • @perpiiz It's amongst the top 5, I agree.

  • This song....its just so fucking deep

  • this is what chuck norris listens to...

  • U2 is something special... It can destroy bad moods within seconds...

  • good music

  • brilliant

  • this song is positive in a strange way:)

  • Irish and proud

  • @Vanubis10 agree!

  • @Vanubis10 Wish i was irish, but no, im puerto rican.

  • @U22398 i think nationality doesn't really matter

  • I'm glad my Dad played me U2 songs when I was little, otherwise I might be one of those teenagers who like that modern pop rubish

  • @120TOMTOM same story bro haha, i love it cause my dad listens to it so far i can remember :)

  • @120TOMTOM Your dad is a good man.

  • @120TOMTOM That's your opinion, that doesn't mean modern music is crap, even though at some degree I agree with you. There's still good music being made, we just live in a time we're we need to look for it now.

  • @120TOMTOM same here

  • @120TOMTOM same here buddy. thank dad!

  • @120TOMTOM Same. Except my mom played U2 a lot when I was little.

  • @StLouisStormSpotter Haha same, my mom played U2 a lot when I was young

  • @120TOMTOM Right there with you.

  • @120TOMTOM I'm 13, i can say the same. I really can't believe people my age listen to dubstep shit & rap. Im grateful my dad got me into rock, Van Halen, U2, Journey..

  • @U22398 Depends on the dubstep my friend, but U2 is the shit ;)

  • @SuperiFox dubstep is nothing at all

70's-80's early 90's is music my friend

dubstep is good to dance to when you're on drugs at a party but thats all

    its nothing more

  • @U22398 dudes i found rock on my own and now its a part of me

i have the metal (i know this is not metal but its still proper music)

  • @120TOMTOM My da showed me this aswell, said he listened to it every night after me grandad died.

  • @120TOMTOM Modern pop is not rubbish, music is music. You may prefer this genre but that doesn't mean you should go trashing someone elses.

  • @120TOMTOM same with me. I used to dance to elevation in my living room when he played it on the stereo lol I still like some "modern pop rubbish" though

  • @120TOMTOM So true haha, I have so many fond memories of my dad and a good friend of his just blasting U2 in the car while driving to our holiday locations.

  • great emotions...

  • Best U2 song ever.

  • lol they sung this at my high school gradutation

  • @walnon Bullshit! Bono is easily one of the greatest vocalists ever! A long with Jonathan Davis! Just my opinion though, you have your own to

  • @walnon Bad vocals? XD Seriously? This particular recording is actually quite excellent. XD I'd like to see you do it with more feeling and articulation than he does.

  • 7 people's kites fell down

  • u2 my favorite band, long life for them god bless ypu 1michelemilechele1 for share this music, viva bono, the edge, adam clayton, larry mullen jr, daniel lanois and bryan eno.

  • @FrauWunderschoen

How can you possibly hate Bono? He sings epically amazing songs, and is a major supporter of humanitarian efforts.

  • The best song U2 ever done!!!! beautiful!

  • i want this played at my funeral

  • JUST BEAUTIFUL. this is a bone-chilling good song! you feel it in your pores!

  • i know this is a greatest song that ever listening

  • This is my favorite song from the All That You Can´t Leave Behind. I hope some day I can see U2 in a concert.

  • If you dont like this song(The five people that disliked it) You can burn in hell. This song alone has changed hundreds of thousands of peoples lifes. Let alone all of the other AMAZING songs they've made.

  • I love this song so much!

  • U2: A trilha sonora de toda a minha vida...

  • the most hyped band ever? they used to be very good by the way.

  • @synkciu You obviously know nothing about music my friend. I've never known a 4 piece band to make this sort of noise in my life or before. They're the best and biggest band in the world by a mile. Great songs, great musicians, and the best front man in the world. Deal with it

  • @stookiebhoy LOL. is Bono like Jesus for you or something? they used to be really good, but they're not anymore, "deal with it" :)

  • @synkciu Last time I looked Bono was the singer with the world's biggest band, not a 1st century Jewish prophet. So no, Bono isn't like Jesus to me. And I re-iterate my previous comment, you obviously have no clue about music. Or else you wouldn't come out with comments as stupid as that.

  • @stookiebhoy get taste kid.

  • @synkciu i think you should get taste kid U2 is still one of the best bands ever

  • I'm pretty sure that there's a special vocal effect on bono's voice at 2:38, which makes it sound kind of airy and more distant. does anyone know something about vocal effects? could it be that they simply boosted a precise area of the EQ?

  • i want you to know....i love this amazing song....

  • Estos que votan que no les gusta esta musica, que clase de musica les gusta.Cada uno es libre de votar a favor o encontra. Yo no he conocido a nadie que no le guste U 2.

  • this is what gets me through the times when i want to let go of the man i love, whom i can never have.

  • one of the few songs that pops up whenever i really need it in my life

  • Love this song so much.

  • I can't wait to see U2 in Melbourne. December, come faster! I really hope they play this song!!!

  • AMO U2, todas as suas musicas sao tao lindas que agente acaba viajando,.. adoroooooooooooooo o Bono

  • Fuck, seriously, after listening to this song almost everyday for the last 5 years, I still can't believe how perfectly beautiful this song is...

  • perdi 3,50 da minha vida

  • reminds me of my dad :')

  • @EllisJohnson Me too, I lost him when I was 14, had a heartattack in front of me, he was gone in half an hour.

This song just manages to rip out my deep emotions about it even though it was 4 years ago. I just cried, a rare occasion. Made me feel better :)

  • @ps34evah I hope you're ok. That's an awful thing to have gone through. I'll be thinking of you.

  • @stockinettestitch Thank you, I appreciate that :)

  • R.I.P emiel <3

  • I went to see U2 in concert when they released this album and bono dedicated this song to his dad who was ill, 6 days later his father passed away. I will always remember this song for that reason and how touching it was that night.

  • @RICHARDTHEBEANS I guess he performed it at his funeral. Sadly, I never remember the real name of the song. To me it's the funeral song.

  • @stockinettestitch Was I talking about "Sometimes You Can't...."? That's the funeral song. I get these two mixed up.

  • i would pay the hear bono to read names from a phone book

  • ....Rip ton gribroek.....

  • Much melancholic song...but so beautiful

  • R.I.P nana. I love you.

  • The moral to this story is, if you have a great Dad, tell him he is. I wish I had. God bless you U2

  • Vive U2 is a best of the world !!

  • Best U2 song ever.

  • I'm a woman in this garden and I'm ready to play. Where is my fall out shelter please? Single is fine.

  • 'Life should be fragrant , rooftop to the basement ...'

  • R.I.P Mum.. i miss you so much <33

  • R.I.P. PETER EN THUNDER

  • i think that too...this is the best from this great album, in my opinion!

  • I didn´t lost my dad through tragedy, But I love him so much and is so hard to imagine my life withouth him. I´m gonna have to learn, 'cuz he is my best friend in the whole world And I don´t know what I´m supossed to do. Anyway, I underestend you guys, and All I can say is that we have to ´Walk On´

  • Losing your Dad isn't the best thing on earth. If you have lost your father through tragedy. I know how you feel. It's hard, eh! sucks bad. Life get's better believe me!!

  • Thanks 1michelemichele1 for this gem that i found in the 2000 the only way to find is youtube and the disc all that you can't leave behaind

  • Segue this into "No Line".

    It's a decent transition.

  • This song came out during a time when Bono's dad and my Uncle were both sick and even though I wasn't really close to my uncle I looked up to him because he was a police man and a Vietnam Veteran. I did enjoy when I got to see him and the song Kite reminds me that I had to let him go because he had a terrible case of Cancer in the brain that was inoperable and there was nothing we could do to stop it. I really loved my uncle.

  • i just figured out the main themes of this song... its about the moment when you help someone and then let them go and help themselves... "i want you to know that you don't need me anymore"... the imagery of a kite flying is amazing... "who's to say where the wind will take you"... this song is just beautiful

  • perfect

  • maybe the U2's best song in the last decade..

  • electrical storm

  • whats the meaning of this song I have to analyze it could someone help me out thanks.

  • I want this played at my funeral.

  • Good choice bro, me to

  • Speechless......I have seen this song in many forms and must agree that Bono is at his best vocally (not discounting the early R&H days for example) here.........and the meaning is golden.

  • it's a hidden gem for some, but thankfully for me I've always been aware of it and play it frequently (at high volume)

  • Make no mistake. One of U2 best. The bridge gives me chills.Bono at his best vocally.

  • exelent quality as ever ty mitch

  • i want you to know you don't need anyone or anything at all.

  • fucking amazing..every layer of this song co-exists so perfectly

    u2 kicks ass.

  • i can't believe they didn't even make a single for this incredible song

  • So true.... of course you say that about just about any U2 song.

Amazing, amazing group. I'm a loss every time I listen to them.

  • It's not very radio friendly. Fuck the radio. The radio won't play songs, where you have to deeply engage the song. And that sucks.

  • my grandfather died with cancer in september and this song gave me so much strenght. thank you u2. one of the best bands ever.

  • @Ritafff you're so right. this song touches a raw chord especially when you're going through some kind of emotional loss or hurt

  • @Ritafff you're so right. this song touches a raw chord especially when you're going through some kind of emotional loss or hurt. especially that constant and haunting guitar riff in the background

  • who's to say where the wind will take you? noone can or should

  • ...this song reminds me of old times...when i was a little girl, i was happy...i dont know when the wind will blow...but this is not goodbye.
