Not true -- there were a lot of apps, including apps that would allow off-line email access (you transfer email every time you sync it in the cradle). But more importantly, the battery life on the Palm Vx was incredible. I would frequently go a month without a charge, which is unfathomable for current phones/PDAs. And it was _much_ faster at the apps that it had than any modern PDA -- it didn't over-reach.
@galexander4 Funny you say that about the battery life; I was having a cleanup in my garage and found 1x Palm Tungsten T2, 1x T5 and 2x Palm Vx's. The two tungstens were totally out of charge but one of the Vx's still turned on and ran for quite a while. I couldn't even say how long they had been switched off and away from the charger, I know it was a bloody long time! 11 years old and the battery life is still insanely long, I love these old V units
Great. I just revived a Palm Vx with a new battery. It's the only device that I can rely on for making day-to-day notes. Writing with 'grafitti', the original one-stroke-only text input is just super.
Dude, whats up with the whole infomercial style thing going on? Seriously, the people saying that you will get better are right, because there is nowhere to go but up! The whole hot-tub time machine thing turned me off right from the start.
it was a great device: data input was well-thought and fast, very fast search across all apps, tiny but speedy apps, good syncing of contacts and calendar with pc. The most important: it was the best organizer ever! fast, convenient, simple with an alarm and LED. It was possible to convert virtualy any data to pdb files. I don't see an alternative even now: windows mobile is sluggish, most devies have power only for 1 day of extensive use. I have a friend of mine who stil uses it and quite happy
Pretty interesting video and concept. Just keep at it and you'll get more natural as time goes on; ignore the idiots saying stupid shit. I enjoyed it and felt it was a well spent 3 minutes.
And people still say Samsung and HTC copy off of Apple's iphone design. Tough shit. I bet 98% of iphone users NEVER heard of these devices. Apple fanboys need to do more research. I know doing research on stuff is hard, thats why Apple made a "simple" OS for you. (being sarcastic) Im done with those Apple fanboys.
i've got one of those! pretty awesome compared to it's age.

You should avoid to show your hands when you don't use the phone in the video :)

It's been like watching a photo of the device and reading about it on Wikipedia. Why didn't you launch any app to show how Palm Vx actually worked?
