HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! Why isn't the spot distance for infantry this far on consoles?!?! I've always got to fly low and close to spot infantry, and even then you only have a couple seconds to kill them before you have to pull up.

@nathan9384 One way to spot infantry really well from a distance is to use the Guided Missile view. When afar, the Guided Missile view is zoomed in, making it much easier to spot enemy vehicles and infantry, and it even allows you to spot those infantry as well. The only issue is that once you exit Guided Missile view, the enemies become un-spotted, and you must re-acquire their location so you may get a kill. I find this easy though, and receive many kills. And yes, I play on console (Xbox).

I played one of the firsts ones. Belkan War I believe. The story was epic. There is a new one coming out soon isn't there? Ace Combat has different controls than this and overall the game is very easy.

@timy10110 If you are on a jet I'd say yes, you can easily spot the ground units from above and they don't mean much trouble. The air radar is extremely useful to get on other jets tails and shoot them down.
