i agree with Spleagels magic mountain sucks coz heres so little variation. theres no different types of rides working together sotheres no pattern and the rides don't work with eachother.
cedar points rides or designed and built much better and fulfill all the necessary features of a great ride, unlike magic mountain.
if you think cedar point is better than magic mountain copy and paste this comment on three other cedar point or magic mountain videos
There used to be a Shoot the Rapids when I was a little girl back in the 60s and 70s. It had a double hill - you went up this big hill, fell part way, and then down you went again. When you hit bottom, SPLASH! Was fun to put Daddy in the back, he was the heaviest. Seemed to make for a bigger wave. LOL Thanks for posting, 5/5 stars!
Are you serious?!!! I thought they said you won't get wet? All that anticipation for that! Come on Cedar Point. You let us down BIG TIME!!! I'm going to Magic Mountain to ride some real rides.
Ive been to magic mountain and cedar point and the difference is like night and day. Cedar point was great, lines were kinda long but I still got to do everything. Magic Mountain on the other hand was a total disappointment, many rides were closed, Tatsu broke down while I was in line and didn't reopen and i got stuck on Superman for like 20 minutes, Six Flags seemed to be run by a bunch of incompetent people. Cedar point is the Bees Nees
Yeah X looked Awesome but it was closed when I went along with Deja Vu and tatsu being broke down. It was such a disappointment we went to customer service and complained. They gave us free tickets to the park which we sold on ebay
When my family went a year and a half ago (May 2008), we were lucky. Everything was open, and X2 had opened the Saturday before we went (a Thursday). It was basically walk on every ride but X2. But the coasters really aren't as great. The good ones were X2, Riddler's Revenge, Viper, Tatsu, and Revolution (those were my faves.) Goliath is big, but only gives G's. Almost no air time. Millenium Force is pure air time, I'd say. Cedar Fair beats Six Flags.
Yeah, I really liked Riddler and Scream but Viper was to bumpy and revolution had those unnecessary over-the-shoulder restraints that my head kept slamming against.
I thought the only coaster that really stood out was Goliath, that helix at the end was insane. Millennium Force would be the perfect coaster if it also had a helix like Goliath.
Revolution would have been a great coaster for me if it didn't use those over the shoulder restraints. Every time the coaster took a turn my head would slam into them, it hurt like hell.
Viper wasn't as bad though.
I normally don't mind bumpy rides like wooden coasters as long as your upper body is free to move around without restraints.
There is also the New york coaster in Vegas which is probably the bumpiest ride in the world but the shoulder bars have an adjustable up&down feature which makes it ride able without head injury, Pretty sweet.
Hey I have a shirt for that! I didn't go there of course, never been to Vegas...but my mom and dad went a few years ago for their anniversary and mom bought the shirt cuz I LOVE roller coasters. (My dad loved the ride, my mom hated the part where it apparently twists upside down and drops.
*gasp* Someone who loves crazy rides but understands the need for family ones! It gets annoying reading comments by people saying to tear down Mean Streak (fun), Disaster Transport (kid ride), Mantis (fun), and once even Kiddy Kingdom! All the rides are key to a good park, the problem with Magic Mountain is actually the lack of family rides; they only make coasters it seems.
mean streak and mantis are both painful though haha. but yes... cedar point seems to please EVERYONE while most six flags parks are just for crazy coaster riders...
The shotglass that is holding down the top right corner of the paper...are you sure that's a Cedar Point shotglass? A shotglass that I have that is of The Villain from former park Geauga Lake has the same gunbelt.
NEW FACEBOOK UPDATE (9/1): "09.03.09 09:10. All will be revealed." Once CP sends us a media kit I'll be sure to share it with all of you. Thanks again for watching!
All I know is that I don't think the rumor about them taking out Snake River Falls is true now, because they said on their blog that they'll be celebrating an attraction's 17th birthday next year. In 2010, that would make Snake River Falls, which opened in 1993, 17 years old. Whatever the new ride is, I just hope it doesn't overshadow Millennium's 10th anniversary!
on the CP blog, it has a picture of millennium island on that open field, so they're probably building it there. And you'll probly need to get to it by paddlewheel excursions or maybe they'll make a bridge, OR even a whole new section of the park with stores and then the ride!
Has anyone given any thought that CP may have enlisted Mack to build one of their water coaster models. Remember, they've built a few water coaster models including the Journey to Atlantis rides at all three Sea World parks. One of those rides actually reverses it's direction in the middle of the ride.
Thanks for letting me know, I don't go on Facebook or Twitter at all. But that still leaves the possibility open for a new log flume as CP currently has none now. Think about it, CP may be the only major amusement park that doesn't have a log flume so that's what they may be hintin at. I can tell you that every park I've been to that has a log flume, the line for that ride is usually an hour long and is usually a very popular family type ride.
The web page says lightning strikes twice (mis spelt for marketing fun as twYce, like whyte is, get it - right who cares) the thing is - I'm willing to take a guess that this puppy will go forwards, and then backwards. Carowinds had a "White Lightning" ride that I loved, had the same catchphrase.... but I'd expect the peeps at CF will one up that old ride.
The clue is referring to the fact that two of the announcements are done with (King's Dominion and Carowinds), and now Cedar Point's is the one left. There was a related post last week that said "KD: 1 CW: 2 CP: 3", the apparent order of the announcements.
Now that i have a son we have been riding the paddle wheel boat a lot . I have been looking at that island wondering what was going on. Heavy duty docks and a acres of trees cut down. This has got to be where the new ride is going to be.
My grandparents said they rode the paddleboat the other day, and they said there were a lot of mentions of hillbillies, which is what the Sandusky register called the cartoon characters
These are all the characters from the Paddle Wheel Excursion. Probably creating a story, why they will leave CP so they can clear the land for a new ride.
Living in Sandusky, the local paper didn't have anything new to add. But the Lorain Morning Journal newspaper spoke about a ride called White Lightning was opening at Carowinds in North Carolina ( a park owned by Cedar Fair). Does the 'lighning strikes twice' refer to it being built here at Cedar Point as well?
im confused i though carowinds was going to get something called white lightning until they announced the intimidator today. There is a large shipping crate sitting at carowinds that says "do not open until 2010", and in small letters on the side it says "lightning really does strike twice" so i thought it would be a remake of their old coaster. White lightning.
In all seriousness, I just downloaded Google Earth...never thought to do that - thanks! Although the images are far from current (what I saw today looked like CP in December) it's a cool way to check out every park in the world! How cool is that!
Could it be a Gravity Group Woodie? The website says Lightning strikes Twyce! Meanstreak has a lightning bolt symbol...could it really be another woodie?
You have a good point. I think some of the best woodies are the very big then get very small ones like Avalanche (Hellcat) at the Dells. Though, that's more of a roadside coaster, not a theme park kind. They did say commotion on the 'island" referring to Millennium Island.
