How to protect you valuable throw ups. Get a hard cooler fill with filling rape with duck tape. Jump on 10 times if still secure then ship with no worries. I have 4 years experience ups i see over 5,000 boxes a night. I have never seen a cooler done well torn up.
UPS over works there employe. To become a driver had takes 5-7 years of back breaking work. As a driver which is even more back breaking but pays good and they can not quit there job were would they go to work that is better with only ups on there employment record.

@TonyOhNo Actually UPS cares about complaints, but so often the general public cannot understand and appreciate what really happened. Aside from damages (usually a packing problem), other complaints are usually beyond UPS anr originated with a shipper putting a bad address on a pkg or something else. For example, a shipper places a signature required status on a package and you happen to be away from home, and your neighbor is not home to sign, you don't understand why he cannot return right?

People use to send auto parts with no box, just a label stuck to whatever it may be, brake line or alternator. When you work for a company as hostile and stingy as them, you start to lose feelings for little brown boxes. Besides, that what you get for shipping so much damn paper.

@usablejustice there some routes in city that make 200 :) NYC for example i have done 110 but not UPS more harder office supply RT i do 60 to 70 daily in 150 mile radius when i use to do city 80 to 90 was average :) and when you are running late there is no one to help you its you your truck or unemployment :)

In fact, the shrinkage rate (do you know what that is?) for the USPS is less than 5%. UPS and FedEx run about the same. These 2 gays...um guys are usually the kind to have solitaire on their computers for most of the day. After a few intense hours of that & going to the water cooler & bathroom they finally get their smoke break. As a UPS driver myself I've seen the games that are on a lot of my customers computers as I'm making my delivery. Throughout the day as I pass by I'll see them outside smoking. Finally during pick ups at the end of the day I'll casually ask how their day was. Typical response: Rough!

I got my package once and it was all crushed, shredded and it was completely opened at the top. all they could say was make sure that nothing is missing WTF!? never had a problem with fed ex!
They managed to snap a durable poster tube in half not once but twice when I ordered it before I gave up.
And they tore open a package that my friend ordered, snapped the battery inside then did a piss poor job at re wrapping it. And tossed the filler back into the box. Took him 8 months of failed attempts via UPS. Before he asked the website not to use UPS. So they used a different postal service which got it to his door without a dent on the box.
you realize that these things happen.. if the items in those packages were damaged that isnt the delivery guys fault. the fault falls on whoever didnt pack fragile items with fillers like packing peanuts. i work at ups, packages were made to take some abuse and what i see in the video is way less abuse than what i see in the hub. stfu cry some more. we have actual labor jobs so stop crying you worthless criticizing office junkies.

Fedex drivers do the samething. When driver see that their truck is not loaded properly according to the postal code by preloader they always get pissed off. More delivery in a day means fucked up day. Thats what happened to this driver I guess.

Whenever I use FedEx or UPS the box is always crushed and the item is almost always moved around. With USPS, I have never had this happen. Its cheaper and more convenient too

The boxes go through a lot more punishment than this before they even reach the brown trucks. It's not really the workers at fault... it's the ridiculous company policies that require a near inhuman amount of speed with loading & unloading the trucks. Ultimately the responsibility leads to the CEO who gets his fat million dollar bonus at the end of the year by pleasing the shareholders with a rise in profit margins at the expense of the workers. "UPS Breaks Banjos" and upload it to YouTube. I shipped a banjo to Ireland by UPS, November 09. The banjo was well packed & INSURED, but arrived with the neck broken. After 2 and 1/2 months of calling and writing, there is still no resolution to our plight.
Here is one thing that I really do find funny, people put things on their boxes like load at the top only, or the orientation arrows. Unless it is a hazmat, we were told to ignore the arrows when loading. The company's that tell us to load at the top only are assholes. When you are getting fucked up the last thing you want to do is put a package to the side. It goes in the wall wherever there's room. The top of the wall is designed for bags IMO.
What will UPS do for you? Nothing! Next day air NBA All Star tickets for my 50th birthday not delivered until Monday after the game with sorry the weather was bad. Told to contact the shipper that there was nothing UPS could do, all the while, my package sat in the Service Center Friday morning @ 8:58am on the 12th. Spoke with 4 different Customer Service supervisors and they all had the same responce - sorry but we can't help you. Now this is Customer Service at its finest.
in my 6 years on eBay (4 as a PS) I relized that only about 3% though closer to 15% around the holidays) of my items (mostly bikes) had; at the very least very roughed up boxes, corners frayed and accordianed were common (I packed well, but still this happened alot.)
I'm sure glad that you caught this on tape. really for the $25- $28 hr + benifits there is no reason that they should be assholes about this. but sadly most are (especially I find those residing in upscale neiboorhoods)
@Begbucks you are blabbering non sense. The damage to packages are mostly caused by being shipped freight containers. The damage is caused by being shipped through one trailer cross country to possibly a second or third trailer. Frayed corners are the shippers fault. You did not pack it well. If the trailer is not loaded well then the contents shift. If you did not pack well the shifting weight in transit will cause packages to damage other packages. Using oversized boxes makes it worse.
@Begbucks you not only pay more for using box dimensions over the weight shipped; you are going to get a damaged box because you are shipping less weight than you need to for the box specifications. Commonly; most people complain about shipping ups because they are stupid. p.s. fedex will rape you because they they think they have better customer service. UPS owns.
@exojjl I can understand how someone with a cool head might want to cover their ass AFTER the damage has been done, fyi I've shipped over 1400 items ALL personally packaged, using proper packing peanuts & bubble wrap in 1/4" cardboard boxes suited for the item in specific sizes, so the "hey the fucking box was tooo large" won't hold water, but I have to agree w/ you on this one - Fedex sucks! (especially the under 21 temps in the distribution centers) DHL was cool but sadle they droped ground
only had one experience with UPS so far. was a mixed bag, came early but came with a dent in the box, after opening the box i was relieved that it hit only the air bags and not the pc parts. the UPS man was rude but i guess thats a possibility with all drivers of other companies too.
but that dent is enough for me to go with a difference corrier for the next purchase. if it wasn't for the air bag protect there would of went my case fans and the OEM dvd drive which was the next thing in line
Funny since I now work at the post office but I used to work at a Banner & Sign place that need those rolls to be wrinkle & crinkle free. Some are just tape rolls or cheap paper rolls worth maybe $40 but some are ten times that amount. Handle with care!

UPS over works there employe. To become a driver had takes 5-7 years of back breaking work. As a driver which is even more back breaking but pays good and they can not quit there job were would they go to work that is better with only ups on there employment record.

Aside from damages (usually a packing problem), other complaints are usually beyond UPS anr originated with a shipper putting a bad address on a pkg or something else. For example, a shipper places a signature required status on a package and you happen to be away from home, and your neighbor is not home to sign, you don't understand why he cannot return right?

People use to send auto parts with no box, just a label stuck to whatever it may be, brake line or alternator. In fact, the shrinkage rate (do you know what that is?) for the USPS is less than 5%. UPS and FedEx run about the same. These 2 gays...um guys are usually the kind to have solitaire on their computers for most of the day. After a few intense hours of that & going to the water cooler & bathroom they finally get their smoke break. As a UPS driver myself I've seen the games that are on a lot of my customers computers as I'm making my delivery. Throughout the day as I pass by I'll see them outside smoking. Finally during pick ups at the end of the day I'll casually ask how their day was. Typical response: Rough!

They managed to snap a durable poster tube in half not once but twice when I ordered it before I gave up.
And they tore open a package that my friend ordered, snapped the battery inside then did a piss poor job at re wrapping it. And tossed the filler back into the box. Took him 8 months of failed attempts via UPS. Before he asked the website not to use UPS. So they used a different postal service which got it to his door without a dent on the box.
So this video isn't surprising to me.

I changed to FedEx several years ago because every time UPS delivered something they left it at my door and it was STOLEN. Drivers can leave a package at a door if they feel it's OK. Well ALL doors are OK even if you see a drug deal going down when they're bringing the package to the door. UPS has probably lost millions of revenue from every company they deliver for since it's the company that will have to resend the items ordered. I don't even order from companies that use UPS.

The boxes go through a lot more punishment than this before they even reach the brown trucks. It's not really the workers at fault... it's the ridiculous company policies that require a near inhuman amount of speed with loading & unloading the trucks. Ultimately the responsibility leads to the CEO who gets his fat million dollar bonus at the end of the year by pleasing the shareholders with a rise in profit margins at the expense of the workers. So much for the union.

"UPS Breaks Banjos" and upload it to YouTube. I shipped a banjo to Ireland by UPS, November 09. The banjo was well packed & INSURED, but arrived with the neck broken. After 2 and 1/2 months of calling and writing, there is still no resolution to our plight.

Here is one thing that I really do find funny, people put things on their boxes like load at the top only, or the orientation arrows. Unless it is a hazmat, we were told to ignore the arrows when loading. The company's that tell us to load at the top only are assholes. When you are getting fucked up the last thing you want to do is put a package to the side. It goes in the wall wherever there's room. The top of the wall is designed for bags IMO.

What will UPS do for you? Nothing! Next day air NBA All Star tickets for my 50th birthday not delivered until Monday after the game with sorry the weather was bad. Told to contact the shipper that there was nothing UPS could do, all the while, my package sat in the Service Center Friday morning @ 8:58am on the 12th. Spoke with 4 different Customer Service supervisors and they all had the same responce - sorry but we can't help you. Now this is Customer Service at its finest.

in my 6 years on eBay (4 as a PS) I relized that only about 3% though closer to 15% around the holidays) of my items (mostly bikes) had; at the very least very roughed up boxes, corners frayed and accordianed were common (I packed well, but still this happened alot.)
I'm sure glad that you caught this on tape. really for the $25- $28 hr + benifits there is no reason that they should be assholes about this. but sadly most are (especially I find those residing in upscale neiboorhoods)

@Begbucks you are blabbering non sense. The damage to packages are mostly caused by being shipped freight containers. The damage is caused by being shipped through one trailer cross country to possibly a second or third trailer. Frayed corners are the shippers fault. You did not pack it well. If the trailer is not loaded well then the contents shift. If you did not pack well the shifting weight in transit will cause packages to damage other packages. Using oversized boxes makes it worse.

@Begbucks you not only pay more for using box dimensions over the weight shipped; you are going to get a damaged box because you are shipping less weight than you need to for the box specifications. Commonly; most people complain about shipping ups because they are stupid. p.s. fedex will rape you because they they think they have better customer service. UPS owns.

@exojjl I can understand how someone with a cool head might want to cover their ass AFTER the damage has been done, fyi I've shipped over 1400 items ALL personally packaged, using proper packing peanuts & bubble wrap in 1/4" cardboard boxes suited for the item in specific sizes, so the "hey the fucking box was tooo large" won't hold water, but I have to agree w/ you on this one - Fedex sucks! (especially the under 21 temps in the distribution centers) DHL was cool but sadle they droped ground

only had one experience with UPS so far. was a mixed bag, came early but came with a dent in the box, after opening the box i was relieved that it hit only the air bags and not the pc parts. the UPS man was rude but i guess thats a possibility with all drivers of other companies too.
but that dent is enough for me to go with a difference corrier for the next purchase. if it wasn't for the air bag protect there would of went my case fans and the OEM dvd drive which was the next thing in line

Funny since I now work at the post office but I used to work at a Banner & Sign place that need those rolls to be wrinkle & crinkle free. Some are just tape rolls or cheap paper rolls worth maybe $40 but some are ten times that amount. Handle with care!

Dropping boxes is just normal idiots, if the stuff is well packed it won't get damaged just by dropping it.
If it is damaged, just claim. Simple as that.
