Hi, I went ahead and bought a water pump and cooler just like you, still awaiting delivery of the coller itsef, however, it's dawned on me that the cooler will not be any good to use with KOH, given the way in which KOH reacts to aluminium. I've seen videos of people immersing aluminium in KOH and water, and it eats it up fast. This is of concern.
DON'T use the cooler! I'm betting it's aluminum. My cool looking blue anodized unit is toast. I had a feeling it might end up using the aluminum as an electrolyte...just not as fast as it did. That also might explain the inability to maintain a constant electrolyte ratio. I'm working on a stainless steel cooling tower. The pump works fine, and it does work real well at dropping the reactor temp fast. I have a guy at Thermodisc looking for a solution to regulate the temp automatically.
Water pump came from Atwoods. 12 volt, 4 amp (runs 2.6 amp), One GPM flow. Yes on the EFIE. I need a reliable, CLEAN 3-5 volt signal. I'm using 2 "A" batteries. The transformer I initially set up wasn't a "clean" enough signal. ECM would flag it as a trouble code. Solid State unit in the works. Keep ya posted.
Nice work patro46 I'm new to your vidios have'nt seen all of them yet. Have 2 ?'s , where did you get your water pump , and did you build your own EFIE ?.
