  • scientist should study asians brains, i mean how the fuck they do all they do the good they do

  • @renanrr95 we practice hard noob

  • @yomama12445 so show me something nice, asshole.

  • amazing

  • nice nice

  • I do not understand how so many people say people of Asian culture are incapable of capturing emotion in their music. They are biased and very much wrong! Like every art, it takes time to put pieces of yourself into it! One must master the art to make it their own. And to those who say children can not enjoy playing piano . . . WRONG AGAIN.

Wonderfully played! :) keep up the wonderful work.

  • Excellent!!

  • great smile...so proud of herself as she should be.

  • I'm 11 and I play piano, I tried to pay this music like a bunch of times but it always frustrated me how I couldn't get it right so I almost banned myself from playing piano and yet this little girl can play it. I'm surprised! Good Job!!!!! :D

  • good job !!

  • when she grows up, she won't even want ot SEE another piano like most chinese girls i know. and i don't blame them after those tiger moms get threw with their kids, you won't want to ever see another keyboard. for shame!

  • play 1911 prank over it and it suits the video!

  • estoy celosa :(

  • I finally figured out what it is about Asian kids and music.

Asian philosophy & religion usually believes in reincarnation, right?

Well ... they must practice for a couple lifetimes before they play like this as kids.

    :-)

  • @nesokretep

    ajajajajaj (Y)

  • @nesokretep that's silly.

  • @Stupify8 -- Of course it's silly. That's why I said it.

But who knows? ... it might be true. :)

  • 5:04 FAIL!! otherwise the rest was awesome

  • Beatifully done ! Very fantastic. I like you smiled at the end... indicating that "reaching at the end successfully, and Wow, what a feeling of ease." Again, excellent performance.

  • Hey your really goog :P

  • Oh jeez by little fingers would fall off

  • Am i the only one who finds kids playing like this a little creepy? O.o

  • @ikalaw that's a very mean thing to say - she's a child, give her a chance to mature. She shows a lot of feeling in the slower sections. It was a pleasure to watch and listen.

  • how can there be 26 dislikes on this video? it's a little girl having fun playing the piano. what's not to like?

  • Jajaja Q hermosa!!!

I love the way she manages the tempos.

And the smile at the end!!! She must be thinking "yeaaaa"

IF it was me who had finished playing such piece like she did, I think I would be smiling for a whole year anyhow.

  • @jejljejl2 I would have smiled for even 2 years!

  • this is awesome!

i mean how could not like it!!

  • 丁寧に弾けていますね、将来が楽しみですね。

  • Rachel, you must be very very very very proud to play this very difficult Chopin at your age. I play this piece and knows how difficult this music is. I have always tears when I listen to you. and you just smile at the end..........

    Regards

  • Wow! Keep going =)

  • very gooood!

  • you must be a daughter of Evgeny Kissin... im gonna post you to my page @ Facebook "A Pianist" ... you must be known by Evgeny

  • A good try, but sorry your performance is WITHOUT SOUL

  • @ikalaw Grudger!

  • @ikalaw which is a matter of opinion, sorry.

  • Lovely girl doing a great job on a tough piece. She has unlimited potential and talent. If all American kids would learn the classics instead of that haphazard melange of dissonant cocophony which is 'hip-hop' or 'rap', they'd be *much* better off for it ... and so would the counry!

  • Omg!!!死力

  • Omg , GENIUS . (:

  • This little Angel is incredible, amazing, awesome. Unlimited talent and potential. She's a joy to watch and listen to. I wish her every success, happiness, joy, blessing in her life and music. I wish I knew her full name, as I truly want to follow her career. She could well be one of the world's greatest in time.

  • I envy her so much!!

  • WOW!!

You played it so natural and smooth!!

I really wish I could play this tune like you.

  • Wow cool love this song :D

  • here i don't see a wonderkid who is made playing this by her parents i see a little girl who loves playing piano.

  • @dtdwFan420 i see both to be honest

  • wow

  • you're so great! I'm jealus! ^^

  • it hurts, seeing this, created by the parents, stuffed with music for the mindless, music with no soul, no heart of improvisng,

  • she is always so genuine and natural. the rubato is just right for her age, it is not overdone and the music sounds so fresh and innocent coming from her. love your playing, rachel!!

  • Is she a savant by chance?

  • No one's who they say they are..

  • Chopin is dead in his grave but he will love you so nice

  • AWSOME I wish i could play at least a quarter of ur level

  • She is so cute and plays very well! When I feel bad I listen to her music and it makes me happy.

  • Now this is what I call AWESOME!

  • I'm from Poland- Mother country of Chopin and I'm proud of you :)

  • Brilliant. Unbelievable.

  • 8-O

    a-ma-zing

  • F.Chopin would've been sooo proud of you!

  • I'd love to say this is well-played and all. But.

I'd rather say: THIS IS SO CUTE!! It's lovely to see a young girl ENJOYING what she plays. I'm pretty sure this is an older video, but I'd like to point out that she should work on the repeating notes because they sound a little like banging, but other than that it's beautiful.

  • I wish I was that good, or even half that good.

  • Essa música me deixa alegre.

  • woooooow very very good good job!!!

  • Now that is what i really want to see on a young pianist's face--a smile. I remember doing piano as a young child and it often frustrated me to tears. I abandoned piano later, but it formed the basis for my abilities in being able to learn four other instruments including ones in woodwind, brass, and strings. Smiles are good and are a mark that the child really enjoys what they're doing...not their parents.

  • @Theta101 I share the similar feeling. My mom would force me to play the piano and the piano teacher I had was reckless to say the least; careless for my own emotions. Having grown though, I regret not being able to play piano. I still love the sound of it.

  • excellent techinque, but this piece should be played with more character no offense :) you're amazing though!

  • Wow, you're amazing!

  • Because of you im learning this song, too. :) thanks

  • Children's Poetry Picture Book:

    A Door to Your Imagination

    by Heath and Ian Knight

  • beautifully played, thank you

  • Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for uploading.

  • im learning this song rite now

    gud job

    how old is rachel?

  • Born in 1998. This video seems to have been published in 2007.

  • ok thank u i just wanted 2 know

  • OMG!!!!!!!!

are you sure she's a kiddd

  • omg i really admire the way you play!

  • looking at her long fingers, and ull surely know she is gonna grow tall!!!!!!!!!

    envy her!

  • extraordinário como os chineses levam a sério a música erudita...

  • awesome piano great job!

  • favoloso sei bravissima, questo walzer è il mio preferito!!!!!

  • this makes me wanna quit piano..

    great job

  • nice.rachel reminds me of my older friend named cindy when she was around seven.

  • My grandfather ( 1881-1973) taught piano and would play Chopin for hours-this brings back memories. He went from house to house teaching in Buffalo NY during the big influenza flu epidemic of 1918 that killed 22 million people world wide and never got sick. The grand piano filled most of our living room in the little Spanish house my folks had in Long Beach CA. THis kid is good.

  • I love Chopin :)

  • She plays so beautifully ;)

  • xD.......

  • wow I'm playing this right now but I'm not nearly as good as she is...

  • great job¡¡ keep up the good work¡

  • How cute!

  • aw..... SO CUTE!

  • and very talented!

  • She has great expression in this song! Pshh.

  • agree

  • agree

  • agree

  • She is a Very Little Pianist.... I'm Surprised.... I'm Brazilian and I Liked Very of look This pianist......

  • I think i'm a fairly good piano player but she makes me look like a beginner

  • awesome

  • Bravo!!!!

    I am very pleased

  • what an excellent little pianist.

  • very steady tempo :]

  • Well played!

  • Gives memories back when I played this:D

  • great!

  • she's cute! and plays well :)

  • Great stuff! I liked your performance better than Lang Lang's and I have been playing Chopin all my life...!!! Don't be tempted to take too much liberty with the tempo. Too many pianists go nuts with "over the top" interpretations. Listen to Ivan Moravec -- he's the best. In the last section after the 1 measure pause, make sure to accent the third beat in the left hand.

So Bravo and please post more performances!

  • I'd love to dance waltz to this!

  • Fantastic - Great :)

  • Great job Rachel! Besides already having a good technical foundation, you have a natural sense for Chopin, even at such a young age. I love to see that you're enjoying it too, keep smiling!

  • Piano: it's not TV; it's not a video game, so it must be good. Beautiful playing--thanks for recording it!

  • see wot happens when there's no tv in the house?!

  • OMG, you play it just right! Your rhythm and phrasing are spot on. Good going.

  • she is good!!! im 19 n cnt even play that well lol

  • SHE IS GOOD. I AM TELLING THE TRUE..

  • OMG!!!so awesome!!!!:)

  • omg this is GREAT!!! I am obsessed with playing the piano- it is one of my passions I can't get enough of it lol- you are a most brilliant young player!

  • absolutely brilliant, rachel! i love how you smile near the end when it gets complicated and a few mistakes sneak in. it shows incredible humility and love for the art. bravo!

  • It's really rather amusing to read so many different posts concerning her playing. It really is just what it is....

  • wow amazing! so young! But she is constantly looking down at her hands as she plays, I know she is only 9..? but still, when I was 9 I was taught never to look down at my hands like that, just to glance at them to make sure they were in the right position.

  • just looking at your screen name might indicate that you might be consuming one too many cinnabons?

  • MAGNIFICA

  • how old is she?

  • Awesome :D 5st

    Thomas

  • oh my!..so young yet so good ..^^..

..you're brilliant..wish you all the best in the future!..^^

  • I thought u were good on ur other posts till i saw this one, now i think ur GREAT. Because u smiled, which shows it brings out a passion inside u, never let it go and best wishes for you, hope to see u in a concert or on TV in few years ^^.

  • 何歳ですかっっ!?!? 上手すぎる!!

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

You just inspired me to get my baby girl in to playing piano, she's 2 now but I guess it's a good age to start.

    saludos from Mexico

  • wow a lot of pianists don't smile she must really be happy and be able to feel the music.

  • i really admire u !

    u r awesome and... talented

    greetings from malaysia!

  • kinda slow

    but brilliant

  • omg your good!

  • Wonderful! Such talent. Greetings from Scotland.

  • Absolutely fantastic! Your rendition of this waltz is the best ever, period. I frankly think you make all the other YouTubers who play this song look like amateurs!

  • awesome

  • Thats a tom and jerry theme song!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cheers Kid Keep it up

P.S U might think of speeding it up! I don't mind...

  • Umm, I don't think she needs to speed it up at all. She plays it at just the right tempo.

  • i play this too, and im much much older than you are, and you are much much much much MUCH better than i am. very impressive.

  • Absolutely amazing!!! This is one of the most incredible prodigy girl I've ever seen! She has the feeling of a waltz - if you close your eyes, you can actually imagine couples dancing in a ballroom. Most of great pianists seems to want to show their talent by playing faster and faster, turning some waltzes and nocturnes into a "folk-russian-like" song. She will be one of the best pianists of the world in a near future! (Sorry my bad english)
  • Rachel, five stars from me to you.

  • koreankid17's "native language obviously isn't English." he said, "learn grammer"

    hahahah

  • thats not funny

  • Really cute! And talented. Bravo

  • It is always a joy to watch your videos, Rachel!! =)

Can't wait for new videos ;)

  • i hope a miracle happens and i wake up as u one day..<3 har har har~ *two thumbs up*

  • OMG i wish i was that good =]] ur sooo talented =]]

  • Well what can I say? It's brilliant

  • theres the future right there!

great job, but im sure you dont need me to tell you!

  • that just made me feel like shit

  • why are you laughing at me?

  • This is not a simplified version, It's as it is meant to be.

Guys, if you do not know anything about classical music, nobody is forcing you to write comments ok?

I'm a piano student and Im telling you, if at this age she's playing that, she could well become a star in ten years' time ...

  • I heard this music in the Warner Bros cartoon long time ago... but looks like she is playing a "easy version" of this music, isn't it?

    She has impressive talent, btw.

  • it does not get any better than this

  • omg... i feel retarded now...

  • do you think she studies notes or tabs ?

  • posiadasz wielki talent

    uwielbiam sluchac cie:))

  • bernardgoossens (the asshole) writes:

" play pieces you can handle , otherwise u get only WORSER(!) performances"

    I say:

" talk languages you can handle, otherwise you talk SHIT-er each time you open your mouth"

    GREAT VIDEO, TALENTED KID!

  • i know my english is not good , it is not my native language but it is not my goal that u think that i speak good english, and thats the difference with ur shortthinking response

  • Don't worry what slayer9712 says. Saying' 'talk' launguages you can handle.... clearly is innocorrect as well. It is supposed to say 'speak'. So therefore, this person has no right to criticize your fluency. P.S. Second (or third etc.) languages are difficult to learn. p.s. This kid is very talented.:)

  • I agree the kid is very talented. But she or her teachers should see that that piece of frederic chopin is not written to play at such a young age. There are octavs (dont know the word in english) and she is not able to play them because her hand is to small. Thats why I suggest her to play pieces she can handle so she can be the star at a later age

  • I understand what you mean now:)

  • you're a faggot, bernardgossesns native language obviously isn't English. geez. lay him some slack...

and he's right. this song has a lot of octaves that are almost impossible for someone that small to play. There are many piano compositions out there that have little high octaves in them.

i've played piano for 11 years. i know this stuff.

p.s and for slayer9712, you need to get a life, learn grammer(talk languages? its SPEAK languages..), and shit-er isn't a word.Faggot;)

  • NAWW WHATTA CUTIIE!

  • 8 ? 9 ans ??

Mais c un truc de fouuuuuuuuuu !!!!!

  • Increible! I think she even added a little bits of improvisation on her own, she definitely has a future in music.

  • Amazing talent!! I'm still having trouble learning it and you make it seem so easy!

    Bravo!

  • O_O <WOAH]

    Extremely well played!

  • FANTASTIC.VERY GOOD THANKS

  • excellent!

  • tough piece for such small hands. good job

  • I like your version of this piece, it really can feel the fun and joy!:)

  • amazing...

  • oh..she is so lovely and simply magnificent playing the piano..I hope she plays with other kids though...

  • So Great!! Rachel, you are amazing

  • Bravo! I know your family must be very proud! You are a fortunate little girl with a bright future. Susan
