i was studying this concert when i was like 15 and i couldn't complete it, it was so hard to me (and i was like 4 years studying violin) some people are really talented! :) i love violin, and im in the "avarage" level y'know... u.u
I really AM jealous that I can't play like this. And what IS this thing about perfect pitch? 'Cause I'm preforming this in like a month and I'm not that great at it. I'm just trying to memorize the song and now I have to worry about perfect pitch? T.T
People really need to stop hatin on this girl. She's obviously worked hard and she's AMAZING for an 11 year old girl. You're just jealous that you can't play like this. Like seriously? She's able to do this and you guys are talking about her notes being "flat" or "sharp" or whatever? At least she's able to play this whole thing! I personally love this. So give her a damn break.
serina i should say does not have exact perfect pitch. nobody can have perfect pitch. i practice 9 hours a day(not joking) and i still dont have perfect pitch. i agree perfect pitch does not mean anything about how good but i still dont think anyone should be bragging about anything.
well i think she's pretty good. i mean, she's not all all rushing. She's in tempo and the notes are fine... i used to use her video to practice for my audtion in like 2 months and now i dont use it anymore because well like i said, she's in tempo and the notes r fine and she's not rushing!!and i've been learnin this concerto for about 6 months i think?!? ok idk... lol...my comment doesnt have a point.
people calm down!! millions of kids cant play this well at age ELEVEN. hell, millions of kids can't even PLAY! give this girl some credit. People telling her she needs to be better is NOT going to make her any better. (not that she needs to be. i personally think she played this quite well.) If you don't wanna hear it, dont listen to it. There are plenty of other people on youtube that are paid professionals. GREAT JOB GIRL!
amazing! :):) im currently playing this song and you are now my inspiration! haha*^0^* im going to have to practice A LOT in order to become as skilled as you! beautiful!
good job... the piano bass was quite deep i could hear, but it was a good try modifying te score to make it sound deeper just like an orchestra. Congratulations.
agree la... but what can you expect from a 11-year-old girl. She is still learning, and being able to play this so well is good enough to make people marvel at her and at her moral courage to stand up there to perform, even though if she makes pitch mistakes or accuracy mistakes. She gave all the effort she had in her performance and I could see it from the way she expressed her thoughts through the music and atmosphere created. So good job selina.
Serina too, has perfect pitch. But it takes a lot more than that to play well. With the limited time she has for practicing violin, prioritizing on overall feeling is a wise decision, I think.
actually perfect pitch is just that, when you have it you know what is flat and what is sharp and what is an A and what is a B because if you didn't then you wouldn't have perfect pitch. people who have perfect pitch can hear the note right where it's supposed to be in their head, so they can tell if it is not quite right. does that make sense to you? perfect pitch describes one's sense of pitch.
not exactly. perfect pitch is defined as "the ability to identify the pitch of a tone", which is different from knowing if it is in tune. an A can be played flat or sharp, but is still an A. for example - people can tune a violin without having perfect pitch, because they can tell if the note is sharp or flat.
absolute (perfect) pitch definition, "The precise pitch of an isolated tone, as established by its rate of vibration measured on a standard scale."
So, if the vibration was different the person with perfect pitch could tell. Another way of saying the vibration is different is slightly less (flat) or slightly more (sharp).
The reason you say people can tune a violin is because they use relative pitch which is very different from perfect pitch but they can only estimate even then the
Not just that. i have perfect pitch and I can tell any notes...not just notes that come straight off the a music sheet or just plain notes in general.
People with perfect pitch can tell more than that. They can tell the notes of an amulance siren. Instead of hearing it as a sound, they will hear it as a music ( B G B G B G) or a plate dropping (B B B B B) or any songs with LYRICS.
so about tuning, they can listen beyond...they can hear sounds normal people usually can't.
Just because you have perfect pitch (meaning you can identify a note when its played) doesn't mean that she doesn't either. And also, I'd like to see YOU play this as well as she did. I doubt you can, so just be quiet, because you probably can't do as well as she did. She's still young, and of course, can be improved, but she's really very good, so the only real reason for you saying that she isn't good is most likely because your JEALOUS. keep your jealousy to yourself.

much too legato in the opening section for my liking, not enough staccato.
the ricochet can also be worked on.
very good though. is she like 13 or something? 12?

11 on a 1/2 size violin. :)

Try "Watch in high quality."
It sounds more crisp that way.

In 0:55 or something she flinches as though she screwed up or something. I suspect that she hit the note flat (I have perfect pitch).

btw, perfect pitch isn't what allows someone to determine if a note is flat or not. perfect pitch is being able to identify the name of the note.
i don't have perfect pitch, but i can still tell if a note is in tune.
