Today I read the words "Swedish Chef" in a totally unrelated context and suddenly became aware of a distinct sense memory; a pleasantly sweet and cinnamon-y taste with a crunchy, puffy texture on my tongue. For a second I had no idea why. Then I remembered the Muppet character, and, almost as if I'd dreamed such an absurd product, a cereal made after him. Looked it up, and wouldn't you know, it was on the shelves for one year when I was four.
Now, I'm gonna say that I didn't like the cereal itself but I had some anyhow, LoL, wish I'd kept that box though now that I see what it's worth.. oh well CHEF FOR PRESIDENT!
Thats was the best cereal of allllllllll time. I loved that cereal back when I was a kid. They don't make cereal in 2010 like they did in the 80's. Mr. T's cereal came in a close second. P.S. I didn't know they had a smurf cereal hahaha. Wish I would of tasted it, but all I wanted was croonchy stars or Mr. T
I used to love that cereal, it's a shame they don't make it anymore. No other famous chef can claim to have their own cereal, not Emeril, not Julia Child, not even Chef Boyardee.
I remember this cereal from when I worked stock at a grocery store in the late 80's, it had a rutabaga seach throughout the box, but I never found it, The cereal sucked but the Chef is cool
That was my FAVE cereal when I was growing up! But it would always take me awhile to eat them, my mom would joke that instead of eating Croonchy stars I was having Soggy Stars! =D
I remember beggin my mom to get me this cereal. It was weird. I never liked the muppet characters, but it was just something about this cereal that lured you in. Wish there was such thing as time warping. Oh man. How happy people could be. Time. A crazy thing.
This cereal kicked an unrelenting amount of ass back in the day. And the commercial for it is to this day probably one of the best ones ever done as far as cereal goes.
I wish this cereal was still around. But, maybe if I did I'd revert back to 7, thereby erasing all previous memories. There's a Twilight Zone about this...
i remember this commercial. it's a shame i never got 2 try that cereal, tho. 2 me, anything with cinnamon is good.

I heard Jim Henson wanted to call it Stoopid Flakes, but Post vetoed him. That would've been interesting.

Did anyone else notice at 0:06 seconds that when he threw the can, it landed perfectly on the shelf? The swedish chef's got skills. :P
