  • don't they have to say EVER ingredient!"!!! I neversaw the word High fruct... on ketchup or pepsi...

  • BREAD?!

    Why is it in bread?

  • @qwertasdcfghjklmo24z In baking bread, you need a sugar to create the browning associated with the look and flavor. Bread makes started using HFCS because it's cheaper (because of the 1995 Sugar Quota Act) and because HFCS is more shelf-stable than sugar (which tends to separate from food).

  • There is no point in shopping around the perimiters of the shop it would be the same thing as avoiding table sugar...

Your stuttering over your words like the lady from the commercial your just repeating your information your incorrect...!!!!!!

  • Guess what? Fats and sugars are not healthy for you and need to be limited. That's long been known. The whole crusade against "High Fructose Corn Syrup" is just so people have a monster to blame instead of demanding PERSONAL accountability.

Just look at the comment below... "corporate"? Unless you grow and eat your own vegetables, milk, and grains, what Food isn't 'corporate'?!

  • I want to take HFCS and shove it up the government's big, corporate ass

  • I talked to a lady form Coke, she told me the reason why they use HFCS in the USA is because we have Surger protection and it makes Surger very expensive. We are the only nation in the world that feeds its people HFCS. everyone else gets to eat real surger.

  • Soon they will be making commercials like this for anyone who dares to question 9/11, osama bin dead, & a hundred other known lies and suspicions. This banking corporate fascist government is your ENEMY.

  • HFCS is POISON!

About 3 months ago, I found an article on the Washington Post about HFCS containing mercury. So my family and I started removing ALL HFCS foods completely. Ketchup, bread, microwave meals, and esp. soda pop. After 3 months of being off the stuff, I was feeling better, my hay fever seemed to relax, and the most noted, I went from a 38/40 waist back down to a 34!

I did not know it was associated with obesity then, but I am here to tell ya, it's true!

  • @KrisKhaos : about a month and a half ago, I decided to not eat anything with HFCS during the week ( but make saturday my cheat day: I eat anything I want) . Given! I workout 4 days a week , cardio 38 minutes a day, my weight went from 242 to 225!! that is a 17 pounds loss in a month and a half. I still eat the same amount, I used to eat with items that contain HFCS. BUT! I make sure that the stuff I eat does not have HFCS now. I also lost 3 inches off my mid section

  • As far as I can see, high fructose corn syrup BADLY needs to get outlawed. I did a research report on this and found out similar findings, which were disturbing to begin with. =S

  • @civilwildman It can lead to obesity, liver disease, kidney failure, ADD ADHD... etc. Its utter GARBAGE! WE CUT OUT ALL HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP AND FEEL SOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!

  • @Barfetta3000 Yes, my research definitely showed links to obesity and liver problems, but not directly to kidney failure, unless that's from the Type-2 Diabetes that may be caused by such. ADHD, I didn't find, but yes, you're really on the ball otherwise. ;)

  • According to Dr. Richard Johnson's research, the maximum amount of fructose a healthy adult liver can metabolize is about 25 grams in any one 24 hour time period, if more than the amount the liver and process gets into the circulatory system, then a condition called insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome can develop, among other health issues, such as arterial sclerosis, high blood pressure, and diabetes, etc.

  • salt ,alcohol ,carbs, meat ,fried foods are also good in moderation, but nobody knows what moderation is.

  • @muvico1 also, High Fructose Corn Syrup creates a bio-chemical response which induces an craving for more of it and consumption of more food in general, even though the body has consumed enough, technically. That is why many researchers, such as Dr Richard Johnson, Dr. Ponder, and Dr. Lustig (see their video lectures on ytube) speak of fructose creating addiction.

  • In case you haven't heard, they are trying to get the named changed from Fructose Corn Syrup to Corn Sugar.

So start looking for Corn Sugar as an ingredient to avoid as well.

  • @HunterXray lol i saw that , they think theyre slick

  • @HunterXray Exactly. Think about it logically: When you think of CORN, do you think of SUGAR? NO! So obviously its chemical man-made poison.

  • @Barfetta3000 "Think about it logically: When you think of CORN, do you think of SUGAR? NO! So obviously its chemical man-made poison."

That's what you call thinking logically??? You suck at it. When I think of a plant, I think of sugar, know why? I have a clue about biochemistry. But you live in a black and white world. No shades of grey? Like... maybe something that isn't good, but not actually poison? Sugar maybe? Plz explain to me how poisoning your customers is a viable business plan.

  • In moderation it's fine for you!!....hey look over there..what?

  • Yes its stupid ... but what can you expect from a people that thinks the world is 6000 years old and that humans rode dinosaurs?

  • This stuff is bad for you, if you've heard of those meal plans that make you lose weight, it's because they have you cut out anything with High Fructose Cork Syrup in it. The Corn Syrup causes you to store carbs and other fat and make it harder to burn it off. The reason this commercial exists is because people were not buying foods with Corn Syrup as much, which means less sales and made this commercial to get people buying High Fructose foods again, rather than change the recipe.

  • @TheNoisePolluter Yup I think sales on soda went down , and other things as well, instead of just changing the ingredients back to sugar. The TV commercial scheme is'nt going to work

  • wow i feel for anyone allergic to corn...because its in pretty much everything....feeding tubes for them with some type of baby food

  • RITZ CRACKERS

    I could not believe it.

I looked on the package and there it is.

    HFCS

    Yuk.

For 2011 my family will not buy anything that we know has HFCS in it. Period.

  • crack in moderation is good too, but if you smoke it regularly you become addicted and die.

  • Hansons soda tastes so much better

  • NWO sugar

  • Thank you for dispelling some of these myths. The Corn Refiners Association latest campaign is ridiculous.

  • I Saw on the news they're lobbying to change the name from high fructose corn syrup to corn sugar, I wonder why?

  • Here are a few new slogans for the Corn Grower's Council:

    "It's Mercuriffic!"

    "Chock full of rich, Mercury-goodness!"

    "Fortified with Vitamin M!"

"Oh come on... It's only a teensy bit poisonous." (Their current ad campaign)

    "HFCS: Nature's Rat Poison."

"Don't worry, you'll die of obesity long before the Mercury kicks in!"

"Just like Cane sugar, only WAY worse."

I can keep going all day like this... :)

  • she never said why it's bad either........

  • They used to think bathing was bad for you too.. you cant trust these bastards!

  • It is obvious seeing this that the weight problems taking over the wealthy nations are a result of the mass consumption of products containing high fructose syrup. This stuff is a hidden danger to society.

  • i hope they bring back sugar in soda for good. The throwback versions of pepsi and mtn dew taste sooo much better

  • did you notice theres a bag of chips on that picnic blanket? like thats healthy right

  • its all about self control, do what is best for yourself... and only YOU can do that FOR yourself

  • This is a really stupid video

first off, and fyi I do not condone the dumb commercials and the idea that HFCS is not AS healthy as normal sugars honey ect.. But what they are doing here is commiting the act of what is known as a Red Herring. They start to talk about the commercials but when they get into facts (when people say) "BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT HFCS!!!" do they elaborate as to say that HFCS has the same calories and just a 5% increase in Fructose content NO. lame vid

  • @Bojoe777NaBl You've missed the whole point.

  • dont touch that crap, never trust the fda,and buy organic as much as possible....cheaper than hospital bills when your sick from eating all this garbage.

  • At least they put this on the label unlike GMO tampering.

  • True... but its in every label :-)

  • Make yourself aware of these industry sponsored advocates on YouTube who are lying about the safety of High Fructose Corn Syrup.

  • Wal-Mart sells Mexican Coke in the Latino food section - made with cane sugar. It does taste better than the HFCS crapola.

  • @robertplattbell1 Fuck yeah dude! Way better taste!

  • Mercury is toxic in all its forms, said IATPs David Wallinga, M.D., and a co-author inboth studies. Given how much high fructose corn syrup is consumed by children, itcould be a significant additional source of mercury never before considered. We arecalling for immediate changes by industry and the FDA to help stop this avoidable mercury contamination of the food supply.

Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy

    *(another study)*

  • Like I said, the co-authors failed to understand and explain the unavoidable presence of mercury in topsoil, in all human beings, and in all foods. So, since mercury is in the rocks and soil, perhaps we should ban soil, right? I mean, after all, though there is zero evidence that traces of it are harmful, it just has to be in trace amounts. Even though its has been this way for millions of years. Yep, looks like pretty deep flaw to me.

  • And of course mercury is toxic in all forms. So is water, so are egg whites, so are millions of plant species. But, they are naturally occuring; and their very presence means that we have absorbed the poisons. But in normal OR trace amounts: NOT HARMFUL. Sorry Doc, go back the the drawing board and try again. If you are not understanding what I am saying, then I am sorry; I just cannot make it any easier. The doctor is right...but his conclusion is false. Thats why he got no traction...

  • quit kissing up to the hfcs industry. Do you work for them? By the way, I am still wgt for your proof that proves these studies are wrong. Do you have links or is just take your word for it?

  • Kissing up to HFCS!?!?!? After I said it was a poison, and accusing it of being THE reason for our obesity epidemic? Are you serious? I gave you facts, twice- you still don't get it. That you still are waiting for me to provide you links rather than you doing your own research lends me to believe that you lack the curious nature one needs to "get" and "undertstand" basic, basic stuff. Im done with you. Keep up with your blind faith ignorant comments about HFCS BTW; they hurt no one...

  • Comment removed

  • According to one study taken at the Uof M, 50% of the HFCS products tested by them contained Mercury.

  • Long debunked BS. I have absolutely banned HFCS from my home; and I consider it a poison. And I believe that it is the root cause of the obesity epidemic. Please, there is enough reasons to avoid it...so lets not spread long debunked rumors and or lies.

  • it's not debunked. It does contain mercury according to that study.

  • Sorry, but that was a "deeply flawed" study. Do the research yourself, as you should have done before posting it in the first place. It was junk science...and fell apart under normal scientific review.

Im not defending HFCS in any way BTW...it is poison plain and simple. Just know what you are talking about before saying it....just saying...do your homework.

  • what's your proof? What's your source? The University of Minnesota would've came out and admitted as much. The ball is in your court.

  • An answer to your psuedo-scientific observation is far beyond the scope of this YT comment box. Suffice to say, this came out over a year ago, and what came of it? Did anyone call for new laws?; did anyone claim they were poisoned and file the l;awsuit accordingly?; did anyone press the FDA for new standards? Nope. Thats because the research concluded that exposure levels equal of 1 part per trillion were, "exposure." Since mercury is natural occuring and not toxic at trace levels...

  • CONT...it was beyond silly to consider this amount. Especially since everything and everyone lives with mercury. No, not because of some evil plot by the gov to poison minorities and gays, not beacuse of a human inspired eco-disaster--simply because it naturally occurs and is NOT DANGEROUS at these values. Of course, the authors ignored natural mercury. Anyway, Im done here. If you want to go around telling people misinformation about HFCS, go ahead...I really could not care less...

  • wow those HFCS commercials are infuriating. you don't even have to care about the subject matter, the arrogance alone is enough to make me sick.

  • shit makes me sick to my stomach. Shame on you Uncle Sam!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @brotherbuttcrack I agree! The assholes at the FDA are paid off!

  • @imtang0708 I know, its horrible. Now I know why they call greed a deadly sin. Its killing our country. The sad part is im not even that concerned about HFCS now that I know what partially hydrogenated oils do.

  • I am amazed and appalled that 99% of the people who work in large chain food stores have never even heard of HFCS or GMO's! They just accept what's rammed down their throats, without question, like the sheep that they are! The sad fact is that they're not even interested in hearing about it. They are part of the problem.

I first became concerned, a few years ago, when I noticed that 'corn', 'soy' and 'canola' was in virtually all processed food. I've been researching this shit, ever since.

  • you can thank govt for this HFCS BS, without govt's subsidies to the corn industry and sugar tariffs, HFCS would not be possible.

  • @ForTehNguyen they dont give a shit about us either just like the FDA

  • lets see: eating hfcs in almost all foods. govt is poisoning us thru the water with toxic sodium fluoride a by product of the aluminum industry, eating gmo foods thats causing many diseases. Sounds like a bunch of scum eugenicists run things......and they do. watch "end game blueprint for global enslavement" on google video or right here on youtube. and to any bastard defending this shit ide love to pour antifreeze in your drink when your not looking. sons of bitches you need to die scum

  • high fructose corn syrup is the similar as regular sugar! The difference is sugar is covalently bonded which is broken by sucrase enzyme in the body and HFCS is fructose/glucose free floating in solution. Get your science straight before you make a feasible argument against this...

  • Normally as everyone else I would put any serious attention to a commercial like this. The fact is you have to live the experience of a HFCS diet to learn.

The problem is we think we are feeding our children well by giving them cheese, cereal, Ketchup (tomato) meat, chicken and some vitamins. The truth is you are giving you children corn in different colors and Shapes/ Get back to basics, Natural is better, yes is more expensive but being healthy without medications is even cheaper.

  • I think that people do not understand, high fructose corn syrup IS bad for you. Sure, it is made from corn, but so is Ethanol, and you sure as hell will not find me drinking that. The fact that this terrible chemical is in breads is simply an atrocity. I hope that one day people will understand that just because something is natural, it does not make it good. Nightshade is natural, as well as hemlock. Eventually people will see the light. I hope.

  • all of this unhealthy eating is making us so sick!!

  • hfcs is icky I dont want to eat it

  • Two words: PEPSI THROWBACK.

It reminds me of what pepsi USED TO taste like when I was a kid! I can actually taste COLA!!! and it isn't so damn syrupy-tasting. Very CLEAN taste.

  • I hear you man.

  • @mlovmo doesnt matter, regular table sugar is just as bad for you as HFCS

  • @thehalo2renegade

Yeah, I guess we all just need to consume less sweeteners of any kind. Over the past ten years or so, I've eaten mostly a certain "ethnic" food for my main meal of the day (supper), and I've since noticed just how extremely salty and sweet 'American' foods are, especially anything served at restaurants.

  • @thehalo2renegade Did you know HFCS is made from Genetically Modified Monsanto Corn? It contains pesticides.

  • @thehalo2renegade WRONG!

  • @footboydl how is that wrong? im not defending HFCS, gram for gram HFCS and sucrose (table sugar) is the most dangerous macronutrient you can through your body, they are both 50% fructose 50% glucose and that fructose is shunted to the liver the same way in both HFCS and sucrose, leading to hypertension from uric acid, weight gain, loss of appetite control by the suppression of leptin , and high small dense LDLs leading to heart disease

  • @thehalo2renegade WRONG!!!!

  • @mlovmo Go to Asia and get yourself some. They still use real sugar in Coke and Pepsi. I agree it's fantastic!

  • @mlovmo you mean all these years ive been eating somthign that makes me dumb.

  • @mlovmo Even better .... glass bottles of Coke imported from Mexico ... made with REAL CANE SUGAR! Wooooo yea!

  • @dalepremier Or Passover Coca Cola with the Yellow Cap given around the Easter Holiday

  • HFCS is not good for you.... Avoid it!

  • Avoid Trans-fats, there are more bad for you. And as for HFCS, might as well avoid all sugar while we are at it. Because it is all equally as bad for you.

  • @monamayme too many organic vegetables are not good for you.. whats ur point??

  • So they were fed these together (Trans-fats and HFCS) or separately.

By the way, it would make little sense how HFCS alone could take into account for physical abnormalities. Since it is just a carbo-hydrate. The body instantly works them off. They can't turn into fat unless they are unused like all other carbohydrates.

As for trans-fats, which I think is the real cause of obesity, because they can put trans-fats into soda to make them addictive and not have it on the label of ingredients.

  • I'd bone that old white lady

  • i just read that studies have found mercury in the lots of products that contain high fructose corn syrup

    google it

  • Is splenda worse then high fructose corn syrup?

  • Artificial Sugar is worst than Processed Natural Sugar.

  • Gatorade should be used as medicine to treat or prevent dehydration. Otherwise our foundational recommendations for diet remain: Eat a healthy diet of mainly fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grain food and low fat dairy products.

  • Actually those diets vary, because of natural selection of ancestor diets. For instance, I'm Korean, so I can handle food that is naturally provided in Korea. But I cannot process corn entirely, because my body has yet evolved to have that ability. Native Americans (most of them) can digest corn quite easily, but they have trouble with milk and eating beef.

Diet is much more based on hereditary features more so than a one size fits all sort of montage presentation.

  • @DrRRutledge did you know... that G2 has sucrose (or sucralose or something i can't remember) instead of high fructose corn syrup?

Also- This is a result of the corn franchise's higharchy- there is a load of dirt on that and Obama's associates promoting (giving MONEY to people who grow) corn. Basically, they are stealing from the government (taxpayer money) by this-

    1) Associates help 'the annointed one' into the place of power

2)The 'figurehead' gives money to the associates

    3)repeats

  • So are you suggesting we NOT drink our gatorade anymore since that has high fructose corn syrup in it?

  • Gatorade is for replacing vital fluids while exercising or sick. It was developed for football players originally.

  • Don't worry about high fructose corn syrup. What you should be worried about is trans-fats, which they could put into Gatorade without putting it into the label of ingredients.

If something is going to instantly be turned into fat, it is not a carbohydrate like HFCS, it can only be a triglyceride like Trans-Fats and Saturated Fats. Trans-fats are known to cause extreme harm to the body, like kidney failure, liver failure, ect... because the body doesn't know how to work with them.

  • High fructose corn syrup raises your triglycerides!!! That's the problem! Your body digests fructose only in the liver.

  • High Fructose Corn Syrup is a carbohydrate. Carbs no turn into fat unless you don't work out or walk daily.

    HFCS isn't a lipid, numbnuts.

"Your body digests fructose only in the liver."

Umm. Wrong. Fructose is a monosaccharide, which is a basic sugar. They are broken down through glycolysis in the cytoplasm of each cell just like glucose. If anyone told you otherwise, they are lying.

The only difference between Glucose and Fructose is the arrangement of atoms in the molecule.

  • Actually fructose must be converted to glucose before it can be utilized by your body, and that's done in your liver, however, both sucrose and HFCS contain fructose, so one is not better than the other.

  • You know what, it doesn't matter because it is horrible for you. Companies use it because it is cheaper then sugar. Also, people say it comes from corn so it can't be that bad, well they're wrong it is processed, and anything processed is bad for you.
