  • what happens when the battery runs out?

  • @moviemyles100 it's a Li-Po rechargeable that plugs in to a smart charger Shimano sells. It lasts about 2000 miles between charges. If you keep riding on a low battery, the system will first disable front shifting, to let you know you have about 100 miles left. You can tell the battery life any time by holding down the front shifter button - an indicator light will glow green, yellow, or red depending on how much charge is remaining.

  • what bike is that? it looks wickedly fast

  • Same here.... Im looking at getting the new E118 and its now going to be more expensive...! But I SO WANT THIS!

  • Your check is in the mail. I hope your bank cashes Yens. Seriously now, I hope Shimano doesn't give up developing the wireless version.

  • I'm also just looking at a new bike and thought the 'gimic' of electric shifting wasn't worth the extra money. I was also worried it would let you down on the big race day. Having watched this and some other videos on battery life I'm converted!

Had me shouting out in my office chair...."I want one!"

  • Damn. I'm in the market for a new tri bike, and you just cost me $2k more... but I'm gonna' love it. Thanks for the review
