If you use firefox as your browser, you can get Adblock Plus as a free extension. It blocks ads and popups on the internet. I almost never see any. And for each new ad you do see, just put your cursor over it and a "block" button shows up. Click it and the ad is blocked. It works great! I don't know what other browsers have in terms of ad blockers.
