I have to respect this guy, he has kids running around. I have 3 now and let me tell you it's harder than hell to get enough sleep and good luck squeezing in guitar playing long enough in between the kids needing something or your wife yelling at you.
youve got the same marshall head as me. mine needs a new cab though. but nice playing man, im going to buy a strat and scallop the fretboard, cause its kinda hard to shred on a gibson fretboard..
If you mean at the very beginning during the decending run, its all picked. A lot of my fast runs are a mix of legato and stacatto. With ample sweep picking of course;)
as much as you are a great guitarist, i dont think anyone on this planet can play malmsteen. he is just too fast for anyone to interpret. dont get me wrong, i think you are phenomenal at guitar, but as a fellow musician, i think you should stick to songs that you have created.
not being rude in any way, but i disagree with you on this one
i think that one of the only ways for someone to grow in a style at guitar is to play the music of people that influenced their playing. and in a lot of cases, thats malmsteen. if you dont go back to your roots and play things that you listened to then youre not really gonna sound to much of anything close to great. :)
Thanks, and Ill add to that by saying that I dont play for a living (yet) and I do have my own compositions (in this style) but its what I LIKE to play, and I play for my own enjoyment.
[sarcasm] Oh, damn, I feel so humbled right now. What, with all of those videos of you and your friend playing so fast.[sarcasm\} Really man, get a life, I dont play to be faster than anyone else, and I certainly dont take anything from someone that has no videos and therefore no credibility.

Thats only on the live version and I dont have a backing track for it. Though it would be cool to have said backing track, cause I can play the whole intro.:)
Pretty good mang. I've got an '06 vint. white/maple YJM. fjookin' tone heaven. I'm thinking of getting another... possibly another vintage white with rosewood this time. What gauge strings do you use? I've been using EB extra slinky 8's, I wanna try out Yng's sig strings soon.
LOL! VP indeed! HA! thats great.I just use my Kodak digital camera 6MP, has a decent mic but I cant aim it directly at the amp or the bass overloads it.
Just bought the Yngwie vintage white maple neck strat and am curious to what others might think of playing the scalloped neck. I like it, something different, and it seems to be easier playing a standard neck afterwards. Any input out there?
IT is easier to play a normal neck after training on a scalloped. A scalloped one makes you play with a lighter touch to avoid going off pitch. This inadvertantly gives you a sense of how to create better tone, bends, vibrato, and gives the bonus of better sustain. Good buy! and PLAY LOUD!
Hey man I don't care what these other people say...Yngwie is my all-time favorite guitarist...so many people consider me a great guitarist but I can't even touch what you're doing...I'm a guitarist my own metal band "In Significance"...you should check out our myspace page so you can hear some of my shitty playing...keep rocking man!
Not perfect, but much better than most I've seen attempting this sort of stuff! Good tone, good vibrato, and good technique. I'm an advanced player myself, and know how hard this stuff is to play. Keep up the good work!
Yeah, it was a false start cause its hard to hit record on the camera and play on the backing track at the same time. I also kept getting interupted by the kids, so I couldnt finish it or concentrate on getting in the "zone".
Both, the YJM is just a preamp overdrive, its meant to "push" the amp harder and in the case of tube amps get the tubes hotter. So what I do is set the amps gain to where its a nice warm Dist. just barely crunchy. Then put the YJM308 or DOD 250 (I have Both) to Gain: 10 o'clock Level: full. Then turn the amp up real loud! Bass 4-5 Mid 3-4 High 2-3
There is something to be said for that Marshall tone. However some of the clones do it well, like this company Bumbox which makes a 1 watt all handwired tube amp with pre amp identical to a plexi just with a 1 watt 3 tube output section so you get plexi tone at bedroom levels.
not bad, but not really good, ........ but cool song, yngwie is the Master, so trying to play a song by the master is a challenge

i have a mesa boogie dual rectifier so that would do the trick i guess, offcourse it will sound better on a marshall head right?
shreddingjoris 5 years ago
I'm thinking about buying a YJM strat can u tell me what amp u are using?btw good job to u to with this cover :-)
shreddingjoris 5 years ago
Its a Marshall VS100 head with a Marshall 1960av cab 300watt. If you want the tone, get the YJM , also helps to have a tube or hybrid amp.
