  • Beautiful !

  • do you have any tabs on this song

  • Is there a tab for the version of Big Sandy River that Len is playing? He makes playing look easy. The sign of a professional. It's a sweet tune to listen to. Great picking Len!!!

  • Deering Terry Baucom model, it's the shit, the Stelling Bill Emerson "Red Fox", is the only other one that can compare, or you could get Jimmy Mills to build you a "Pre War Special"

  • I totally agree; the Terry model is just hype. Their light weight ring is also part of the problem. I played one at Janet Davis' in December and was seriously underwhelmed. Jim Mills needs to build the Prewar Special! Let's hound his phone! :)

  • He's playing the same song so you can compare the banjos better.

  • Whar are you uh giitt'n all them thar banjers?

  • does he know ANY other song HAHA

  • is it weird that i like blazing to this

  • I like my 80's Leo, but I suck at playing, anyway....

  • Huber banjos have been strange in my experience. They sound great in a jam. But, I haven't heard but one that got any volume over a microphone. Strange!!!???

  • That is a very good point! I have heard many Hubers over mics, and they seem to be plagued with a lack of volume and tone over the electronics. Sammy Shelor's was pretty bad when I heard him on a TV special.

  • That has not been my experience with my 2 Hubers. Banjos in general require someone that knows how to work the board in order to get the best sound possible, but the same could be said for guitar, mandolin, etc.

  • Well, there are trends and there are top banjo makers, but the sound really comes down to the individual banjo.

  • The Huber tops them all, IMO.

  • The cox/fairchild is the better banjo!

  • The Huber, Cox and Crafters are all very fine banjos. It just goes to prove that beauty is in the ear of the beholder.

  • I do not rate this Huber at all. I played one recently and again, I was quite disapointed.

The Cox and Crafters out gun the Huber easily, IMHO...

    All good stuff though.

  • After 7 videos...I'm beginning to wonder if this lad knows any other tunes. hah.

  • Haha! It does seem that way. Len is a fantastic banjo player and was probably tired of playing the same tune over and over. I am amazed at how consistent he is playing the same song on all these different banjos with the different actions, neck, string gauges, bridge heights, etc. I know I couldn't do half as well as he did with this test. The good thing is that it's consistent, and shows both up and down the neck on each banjo. Maybe we'll give you a 2nd tune for part 2 of the test. LOL!

  • that huber is so snappy and clear, what great tone!

  • Thanks for posting all of the videoes bb! I still really like the way your Huber sounds! Great picking LQ! Thanks again!

  • Just listened to your banjo testing videos. What is your opinion? Which banjo do you like best?

For my ears they all sound great.

  • yep. Nice performance

  • big sandy river?

  • Yep! One of my favorites.
