Well "unsettling" is probably a good description of the song. Sorry to hear about your friend. That can throw a cloud over anything else happening at the same time. I find it to be a deeply mystical song. Very mysterious. Check out "solfeggio frequencies". That drone in this song has a specific tone. And a specific function. It doesn't just sound cool. He's done similar things in other songs. Reznor is exploring some deep concepts in his music. Hope he never stops. Peace.

I've seen NIN upwards of 15 times but the Live: With Teeth, and Lights In The Sky tours nearly blew my mind.

I remember walking away from Live: With Teeth thinking, "What fantastic effects! How could you top that?"

And a year or two later walking away from Lights In The Sky thinking NIN just set the bar even higher.

Amazing band. Amazing shows, high tech or low tech. Easily one of the best and most important bands of our generation, and arguably for modern music in general.

LITS looked the best, and I do miss Cortini. But admittedly, the LITS tour was a bit stale as far as setlists went. I was talking to a cameraman for these final 10 shows, NIN has prepared a total of about 100+ songs to play. Only THTF and HLAH will be played at all ten.
