A scientist whose father is now mentally impaired tries to find a cure for mental illness. Also wanting to seperate the evil side of human nature to control it. His experiment goes bad when the drugs he uses on himself unleashes just the thing he wanted to control. Originally ( imo ) Hyde is euphoric at being free and wants to experience the world but when epople don't take kindly to him he gets violent . Eventually his violent side takes over.

Sadly this version was only done in theatre. R. Cuccioli played J/H for several years on Broadway. I'm not a Hoff fan either and refuse to watch that version. It's terrible !!

When I saw it they were previewing it so lots of things got changed before Broadway. I'd like to see the original cast reprise their roles for a proper movie version. The sets I saw and the additional numbers were fantastic !

@Auntiboo The Hoff destroys everything. The acting is so painfully bad. Here you can see Robert is really playing another part of his character. Doesn't look like Jekyll at all. The Hoff doesn't change his appearance or voice at all or just a little bit.

This is just perfect. Robert Cuccioli is in my opinion one of the best Jekyll/Hyde performers!

I saw this live in Seattle. I was totally blown away. The original cast is my favorite. Robert Cuccioli is perfect for the part .His Hyde is so sensual and I love that he can change his voice so dramatically. When I saw it ,as Hyde kills Lucy he cuts her throat and all this red blood spills onto her white gown and bedding. Even way up near the back row it was a shock to see. The whole audience gasped. Very powerful. From clips I've seen it's not in every performance. Too bad.
