I've been after an Electribe for ages, I'm just waiting for one to come up on ebay I can afford. I have some Emu rack synths, it would be great if an Electribe could be used to control them too.
Can you program your own recorded drums sounds into the ES-1 and make a beat? Like if I record the sounds from my drumkit as a wav file, can I import them into the ES-1 and make beats that way? I really just want to assign my own recorded drum sounds to pads or banks ie sequence my own drum sounds.
Would you guys re commend this or the er-1? This seems to be more versatile but im concerned on how digital the samples could sound. What seems very fun to me about the er1 is the ability to create your oun sounds from scratch. I would really apreciate some help
@Brgynjew hi man sorry for wrong infos, the "keyboard" pad is on the ESX 1 (red colour) but not on the es1.. so the only way to get different notes is working on pict knobs.. sorry about this, i had the es1 long time ago, now i got the esx1 the sampler!
the big difference from es1 and esx is on synths part, the ESX got 2 new part (synths)..
@XnoikzX hi man, actually it doesn't have a synth like esx, but you can split a sample on the keyboard and use it like synth.
for istance, you can have a bass sample in C, right, and just pressing key Pad and i will have the sample on the keyboard where u can play the different notes
@filocalia I'm looking into the ES1 and like it but that's what i've been trying to figure out, so can you have a whole scale of of let's say c#, d, d#, e, etc., after loading a single sample in C or you have to resample the original sample and write it so you can make a scale if you want to use some real time recording of melodies?
I had the same problem with my ES-1 (the old model with the green face plate)
And my SM card was also 128MB. I could only save samples to internal memory so I said "fukit" and bought the ESX-1 and now I don't have this problem anymore :D
Anyone have any idea why I might consistently get an Error 7 despite making sure the sample rate and bit depth is right. 16 bit-32000 Do the samples have to be mono? Is the SM card I have too big for the ES-1 to understand? 128MB. Thanks!
yes you can copy teh step 3 to step 7, just "copy part" function, but if you set up a slice you can not copy the slice timing in normal drumm part... you can use just 1 part slice.
o sorry iremoved the comment, no you cannot play with different slice in 1 pattern but you ca cut the samples with start sample in part common and use as you like, in my electribe sx1 you can cut start and end samples is funny
i have trouble about time slice function. i mean, could you assign ,for example, slice 4 to step 3(or 5 or 6etc)?could you copy step 3 to step 7(or 8 or 9)in the same pattern? this point isn't very clear in the owner manual..
put your micro in line in and select on electribe part sample and press rec and play simultanously and you are sampling your microkorg on youe electribe.
if you go on korg site you can download original manual, where you can find everything you need to know about electribe...
yes man, the machine sends the midi information ;)

@Cockoblock despite its 32kHz sampling rate, the es-1 sounds great and you can easily get hard basses and punching kicks.

If you have an ES-1 the maximum memory card space is 64mb.

its possibly the USB card reader.. it doesn't make any sense (the card reader worked fine for everything else) but thats what happened to me.
I got a different card reader and hey presto, all worked fine.

Actually the original ES-1 with the green casing had the "wah" effect.
On the new MK2 version they replaced the wah effect with "mod. delay".
That is the only difference between the two!
pmsan29 2 years ago
Both, if you have the money! ER-1 is quite unique... But now that my ES burnt, I miss using it WITH the ER :)
Gotta get another used sampler :P
senhorlampada 2 years ago
it depends on your tastes. If you like sampling, the es-1 is for you. If youre gonna use it for really simple things, then fo with the er-1.
blitit 3 years ago
ive just realized that the es1 mkII doesnt have the autowah effect. Instead it has sync bpm delay
blitit 3 years ago
thanx
i will try with this method and i'll tel you!
