@BadaBingBadaBoomsday Sure, they were brilliant for their day but could not ride like this. It's gone to a whole new level now and I've seen them all ride.
@BadaBingBadaBoomsday Lampkin was on the Repsol Honda 4 str too...Bou was brought up doing bike trials like Raga - it's a different sort of riding and skill now...the next generation is always better .....some one will be better than Bou.......one day.
@gasgas270 Yeah he was on one, but at the end of his career. Bike trials has nothing to do with it. Jarvis was a champion cyclo trials champion when he was young so cyclo trials is nothing new. Its not a differnet sort of riding, only a progression and the next generation is NEVER always better. An analogy would be to say Lewis hamilton is a better driver than Michael Schumacher cause he beat him last year when it is widely accpeted Schumacher is the greatest driver of all time.
@gasgas270 Bou is oinly allowed to ride like that because of the bike. Im not saying Bou isn't good but put a young Tarres on a repsol and im sure he would hop it every bit as good.
@BadaBingBadaBoomsday And this is what makes these discussions so interesting ...Ali would never beat Lennox lewis.....we will never know. ..bike trials has changed beyond recognition...diet, training. I think Hamilton is more talented than Schumacher by the way. Bou's control is so sublime and so skillful that I have to give him the nod. The next generation has always 'improved' on the previous one.....subjective I know but true unless the rose tinted nostalgia kicks in.
@gasgas270 I agree too they are interesting. Lennox Lewis??? Really??? The only modern boxer i would put against Ali would be Tyson no one else. Ali would dance around Lewis. Hamilton... not yet. When Schumacher came he dominated, and in crap cars!! Hamilton doesn't dominate, and he started in a top car, but i do rank Hamilton higher than Vettel at the moment. I think its impossible to pit two greats against one another from different eras. All u can say is that they were the best in their time.
