Ya know there are adults leaving YTube because other adults have gotten thier personal information somehow. SO just imagine some creepy pervert doing the same thing to one of these youngsters. Its really kinda scary to even think about. YTube has an obligation to, do within its powers to, keep this from happening...ie not let the youngsters on!!!!
If something where to happen to one of these youngsters...just who do you think the parents are going to blame first, my guess is YTube would be blamed.....This all has to do with liabilities.
Oh, and I agree with your p.o.v. Plus, I doubt that he is emotionally and behavorially on target for his age. There appears to be some developmental issues.
I agree with your main point. Unfortunately, as a parent, I know that no matter how much I coach, I monitor, and I involve myself with my kids, in the end you can't chain them down. So inevitably kids will do some stuff anyway; they always have. But unlike in the past, their actions can now be broadcast to everyone in the world and become permanent spots in history. It is disturbing, and most children do not understand the ramifications, I agree.
Thank you! I wish I had some law schoolin too. You said everything I wanted to relate to everyone else out there, and you do know what editing is too. Good job.
I agree 100% with this video. The kid is too young and he probably made it without his parents/guardians knowing and he sent it to these men to repost (which sort of shows that even if a parent starts an account on Youtube for their kid, the kid still has access to it without them knowing??)...
Plus, even if all the videos of that kid crying get pulled off Youtube, the original video is still saved on those older men's computers.. which is very creepy and wrong.
how you know that kid did not make it ,post it ,and upload it all without his parents knowing . there is nothing wrong with that kid asking for awnsers. as a kid being punished he deserves a awnser as to why he is being punished
You miss the point. What he is "owed" is not the relevant issue. Whether or not it was appropriate to broadcast his emotional breakdown for the world to see...is.
That's not what he means. The boy was having an emotional break down, and people don't usually want the whole world to know when something like that happens to them. The parents of the child posted the video of the break down on the internet which was a very disrespectful, and impulsive thing to do. I'm with Sign on this
If not, they aren't doing there job enough. A kid that young shouldn't have the ability to go online without permission from an adult. It's toooo dangerous.
when you punish a kid it is important to let the kid know why he or she is being punished ,the kid is upset because he doesnt understand why .did u not hear him (i try to be a good boy ) he needs to understand and only you tube can do that they left his emotions hangin you tube is the bad guy here for playing with a childs emotions
YouTube is not this kid's parents. They didn't "punish" him. They took action for what they obviously saw was a violation of Terms of Service. YouTube shouldn't have to make exceptions just because this boy wasn't being parented properly, if that is what happened.
Exactly. It is so easy these days for people (anon) to hack into every account of yours and reveal everything about you. This kid doesn't know what he's doing, and his popularity will leave him extremely vulnerable.
I agree to some extend the points you're making though i still don't believe a child should gain privileges even with the sake's of the guardians permission...
This is why I love you so much. You hit it right on the nail.Where the hell is this boy's parents??
I wonder whats wrong with these older men that are making such a big deal about this..Umm.I personally think its alittle preverted.I dont think this is a place for children(just my opinion)I would not let mine have an account on here.Posting that video was not givemeabreak's place to do.
Boy would Zipster really be lucky to have you as a date. You aren't just funny, you are the whole package. You make me wish I were a gay young man instead of a fat old straight lady!!!
You have made a very good point here, Sir, in pointing to the difference between what someone claims to show and what there really is to see. Very many people on here are not able to differenciate this way, even though the emphasis of this site is obviously on the visual.
I absolutely and wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. If he HAS any friends OFFline, once they see this video...he's going to be harrassed about it mercilessly. Unfortunately, children can be very cruel. And those are the real life kids, much less the heartless people that post hateful comments on HERE sometimes! I just want to SMACK his parents at the moment. I doubt they know ANYTHING about this though.
Right on! You made a terrific point and I'm glad people are finally posting an opposing view on this with great reason. Personally, I'm getting really tired of all this nonsense.
YES. it really is a "movement" as u said. the ppl who are making videos about bubba and posting them out in support are being extremely irresponsible. they may have had good intentions and were moved by the video to "spread the word" for the cause of "justice", but to me it seems like exploitation. the hype created will be used to advantage themselves
I COMPLETELY AGREEE!! i saw that video, and i was pretty upset that this child was so upset - it was distressing to watch... but i still wondered how/why/who posted the video. this boy couldv been completely innocent, but youtube has an age requirement for a reason. young children aren't always emotionally and intellectually able to deal with the things they see on it.
We can see that this boy was extremely attached to youtube - how healthy is that for a young child? AND WHAT WERE HIS PARENTS THINKING when they let the whole world see this???? this could create MORE trauma and embarassment later on.
Well said. Things like this is what makes me happy I subscribed to you. I hope this video makes a difference in the kid's life. Maybe his parents will see this and think.
Thank you for helping me to put my finger on my problem with it. The video ripped out my heart and made me want to kick his guardians in the head at the same time.
This is the first I have heard of this situation, so I know less than you. You are correct, though, about his parents posting such a video for the world to see. It is there forever, and may have ramifications years down the road.
I believe you are exactly right. I was uncomfortable watching this video and you have zeroed in on the reason for this discomfort. The sad thing is it can never be retieved. -Dennis
When i saw the little kid all I could think of was exactly what you were saying. When he's older and looks back on this and how he let it out to the world, he might not be as cool with it. good words pal.
Google has to protect their assetts. We don't know what's happening behind the scenes. Perhaps lawsuit threats? Google has deep pockets - a target. The same "haters" we online can possibly be making these threats. This is a reality. Google/YouTube is a big business. They must protect themselves. We should understand. It's the corporate world.
I do not agree with everything you say, but you make some very thought provoking points. I was by no means the first person to post the video. I am ambivalent. Urgh. Struggling... thanks for your 2 cents.
Fair point. But I'm uncomfortable with the hidden accusations in the 'obsessed men..' video. The boy is - or so we are told - 14 and, taking that at face value, is old enough to be part of the community. He's obviously unconsolable and maybe it was misguided or naive of his parents - but I don't think it was "exploitation". I don't know how old his YouTube friends were - but it would be unfair if they're of the same age and still able to take part.
So very true-The poor kid Obviously wasnt in the right state of mind at the time to be capable of making a decision regarding posting what was posted. He needed to vent his emotions, and its a good thing he did-But some things are just not 4 YT-The vid was sad, but it is 4 his guardians 2 deal with-Not the YT community-This thing is way out of control
If a predator tracks down a minor child as a result of a video posting here....it will not only be a heartbreaking and sick situation, but they'll be liable. Mom or Dad should have intercepted the situation way before it got to his very disturbing emotional wreckage on camera. I sincerely hope that he's got people around to look after him. Cheers - M
Thank you very much. It's not only disturbing that it was out there, but he clearly deals with some type of disability. I was already over the top as I watched it, then he gives a yahoo ID. Someone needs to be protecting that dear kid. The web still gets SO out of hand, and downright spooky. YouTube is just covering their bases as a corporation, they have to.
A yahoo address made for a yt account is not a big deal. Unless it has the kids real address on it. The kids seems to realize he should not put out certain pieces of info. So he is not completely clueless.
Well said. But our words won't make any difference to anything. I think any comments or opinions to the whole situation of Internet drama should be kept where it belongs. In the comment section. -Alan-
In this case though, I don't reckon the parents were involved... My flatmate and I both think he posted that video himself, without parental intervention...

I do beileve his is 14 like he stated but maybe just a little under developed emotionally. Spot on, superbly stated and done, thank you excellent point. I was very upset and broken hearted for the little guy at the same time I was thinking where are his parents?
I agree. I was sent that video, saw about 20 seconds of it and had to click it closed. It was very wrong. Reading some of the comments below, he said he was 14. BS! He was NOT 14. I can only agree.
