@tomchenet I'm an ill-tempered Demon from the Twilight dimension, sent to destroy the earth. I need your energy to power my soul harvester. I have a few questions How it is provided? Do you need to spill blood? How do you feel about gauntlets that will never come off?
im a security company owner and i can assure you EVERY lock, no-matter the cost or brand, can be picked or bumped EASILY. Even if they say no-pick or bump. Search "bumping medeco" They all have flaws.
@kingcahoj It has nothing to do with ingenuity. Rigging a gun isn't rocket science, it's just that you'd go to jail if it killed or wounded anyone. Do I really need to explain that?
I don't know what shitty little third world country you are from, but I am from the United States of America and if someone was breaking into MY house and got shot.....oh wait, nevermind, America has become fucked, too. Nevermind.
@kingcahoj Where I live is completely irrelevant. You Americans seem overly bloodthirsty. Is that really the very first thing that occurs to you when somebody's breaking into your house? To SHOOT their brains out? See, that's the problem when everyone has free access to guns. It isn't just statistics, it's the mentality. Go ahead, use the good ol' "cars kill a lot more people and they aren't illegal" argument or something.
BS, schlage primus can be bumped. It's just very difficult to cut the key and even harder to get the blank.
But having an un-bump-able lock doesn't make you safer. Someone wants to rob you they'e break your window. But the locksmith won't tell you that of course, he wants people to buy his locks.
The best defense against being robbed certainly is an alarm system. Of course there are ways around it, but 90% of the people who want to rob you don't have those skills.

@tommoex They didn't say HOW to do it, they just said that people do it, so you need to improve your home security. Yes, they showed someone going through the motions, but that's the obvious part, they didn't however show how to make a bump key or where you can get them. Most people won't do something unless they're persuaded to do it. Telling people to go out and buy expensive locks without proving why they need them wouldn't garner the response they're looking for.
@AV8AV95 of course they didnt show fully how to do it, but to blindly think this huge new flash about won't cause a wave of criminal minds is being blind minded, the news are obviously doing it for money purposes although they wont say that, if this is such a huge problem it should be up to the police and the government local councils to promote it not the news as it always gives a bad perception.
@tommoex Oh interesting, I didn't know you had such a deep and insightful understanding as to the inner workings and ulterior motives of newscasts. The news is a business, yes, but it isn't their goal to bullshit the masses just to make money. They (for the most part) report on issues facing the local area, and without the news a lot of people wouldn't know the problem existed. It's a lot more cost effective to air a story on the news than to send out fliers and hold city-wide govt. meetings.
@AV8AV95 well maybe not where you're from but most news companies in the UK hype news for money, i;m not sure about cost effective but definitely mass awareness
@tommoex Well I wouldn't know about the UK, I've never been there, but in the US, at least the part I'm from, News is generally for the benefit of the people. Granted, they'll advertise a story to get good ratings, and some networks will put their respective political slants on the issue; and there are probably some people who tried lock-picking because of this story; but I'd rather be aware of a slightly bigger problem than ignorant of a slightly smaller problem.
@AV8AV95 agreed, well said, so I take it people are more dependant on TV news and not newspapers in the US collectively? I really don't know where that assumption occurred from, but I'm curious now, because I've shrugged off TV news and read newspapers a lot now, maybe due to my college schedule, and convenience
@tommoex To be honest, as a high school student I don't really pay that much attention to the news, I kind of rely on word of mouth; but collectively, yes. I think Americans are more inclined to be spoon fed information with minimal effort than to go out, get a paper, and actually sit down and read for a while. It's kind of sad, but true. No wonder people make assumptions that Americans are spoiled, lazy and ignorant, because a lot of them are, and they give us a bad reputation. *sigh
@tommoex By the way, I apologize for my first reply, I assumed at first that you were another internet moron who a)doesn't take in information b)can barely form legible/sensible thoughts, and/or c)who is so full of hatred for another idea or belief that they are unable to see the value of it. I see now that I was mistaken, and you seem to be a well spoken individual. I just see so many mindless trolls on the internet that it starts to grate on your nerves and makes you want to argue with them.
@AV8AV95 no problem, I can stand right next to you and see why you would have done so, the youtube community isn't a great one, and the american stereotype isn't a great one, in the UK 'fat and stupid' come before ignorant for americans, but thats because only the 'abnormal' stand out to the human eye, but same vice versa, i have americans think I wear top hats and drink tea all the time but what can i do? lol
I scared the hell out of my friend. I bumped into his house while he was in disneyland and flipped all of his furniture, tinfoiled his room, and put a slip and slide on his stairs
I got into my own house by pushing on a cheap window and pushing it past it's cheap latch. Contractors busted into my house under construction and stole the window set out of it. If they want in, they're coming in. Have a security system and get a gun for when you are in the house. "Stop!...I have a gun!" Then fire one round into the floor...if that isn't enough to stop the threat to your safety...empty the magazine into the bad guy.
It's the timeless struggle between predator and prey, the 'bad' guys will always be one step ahead and the 'good' guys trying to adapt. Look at computer piracy as the most common example today.
security is a myth, there are only deterrents. A thief is no more likely to use a bump key than a lock pick. This sounds like an ad for $150 locks by making people unnecessarily paranoid and nothing more. I'm not impressed.
Yes, because what's in your house is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO important to the rest of us, that'd we'd want to take the time outta our day to break in. Usually there's a reason why the house was broken into in the first place you know.
@Sombomombo Yeah, because the person breaking in doesn't want to get a proper job and would like to sell your stuff for most likely, drugs? Homes are rarely broken into for reasons of an ex- getting back at someone or a grudge!
is this a debatable issue? yes. does your house matter? yes. does someone who owns a home know this about you and themselves? yes. make of it whay you may, but in downtown york, senslessness is never tolerated.
Thnx for scaring everyone news action 5 now everyone is gonna be paranoid. Maybe they made up the bump key thing to get people to buy more expensive locks and alarms, notice how they gave names of specific companies they were working together.
I have the 23 key set of bump keys. Their fuckin awsome. I broke in my schools basement and a kids house that goes to my school. I didnt steal anything just showed him. I getting the bump key for cars soon so i could start making cash.
But regardless, if someone wants in your house, an unpick-able lock will not stop them. They will just smash a window and last time I checked most houses have windows.
This is just one of many ways to manipulate a very simple pin tumbler design that has been out of utility patent for more than 60 years. People wanting to protect themselves and their familys should purchase more current technology. Visit a Local Locksmith and make an investment in you safety and security. Or call them to come out and evaluate the best sollution for your safety and security. I do this for a living believe me it makes all the difference in the world .
ha ha i got some of these keys for 2 bucks online at superbumpkeys. com, i checked my locks, my friends locks, everyones locks... and it worked all the time.
I actually bought a set of bump keys at a hackers convention (defcon) for $20. They're great you save you a l ot of money on locksmiths if you lost a key or locked the bathroom by accident.
the fat women said its scary not to know watever im sure if they broke through the door she would scare them right back out omg shreks back run!but nice video i broke in my neibors house..lol
@dereksabastian17 That may be true but... If you have no break in evidence... Insurance claims filings are difficult... Only if we had forensic lock investigators =)
i got some for 2 bucks each at superbumpkeys. com, i saw how someone tested his locks and needed to replace his locks, well so did i. i think everyone should test their locks at home.
I like how they pretend this didn't do more harm than good. Thousands of criminals in the making have been alerted to something a ten year old can figure out. But they didn't show to make it because that would be irresponsible. Anyone with an Internet connection can find out how to make one. Top notch reporting dumbasses.
I bought some from SUPERBUMPKEYS. com and they really worked, at first i couldnt believe what i was seeing, so i had to test this on my house and good thing i did because i found out i had to change my locks. atleast buy 1 to test your locks at home. its better to spend alittle on testing then to spend alot on replacing all your belongings.
The thing is, people who wanna gain access will do that, whether it's breaking in through the window or bumping the lock. The important part is making sure they can't get back out through the front door by using a lock for the turnkey. Proper thieves won't carry your shit through the window, they get hurt and the stuff can get busted, and most of all - it takes time and makes noise.
The information NEEDS to get out there so that people know about it. Doing so will force manufacturers to make locks less susceptible to bumping as demand increases. Or would you rather they just keep all this hush so potential victims are kept in the dark?
@TheSummerrider mate last week i bought a bump key (euro cyl) on the net for £3.50 and it works!! just turn the key hard and smack it with a screwdriver its mental
@gunmadkiller I believe you. I'm a victim of bump locking. I just use pad locks and latch locks on my door, works like a charm. I was shocked because I live in a very good area. I assume my neighbor did it because he had some kind of vendetta against me because I drive sports cars. More so, he has been caught bump locking the back door of our building before.
bumpkeys are the real deal, i got my set at superbumpkeys. com and i was able to open the lock to my old bicycle. i also opened my garage door and my front door.
This is why I have a 3D laser fingerprint scanning door... no locks or keyholes :) You can get economic versions at HomeDepot for $240 or all the way up to $1,200 versions.
How embarrassing to be in the same country with a bunch of fucktards who emailed the station 'concerned' that the TV station would teach crooks how to make bump keys. They have been on YT for a couple of years.
1) Crooks know about them and how to make them already. No TV show is EVER going to be a source of information for any crook.
2) TV stations dons dont teach any such thing, they go over the basics. Blank key..line up cylinders, cut each to max depth,..and bump with some turning.force.
the likelihood of successfully bumping a medeco or primus cylinder is pretty slim. unless you are a professionally trained locksmith with a lot of experience, the average person wont be able to do it. its harder than it looks because of the construction of the cylinder.
anybody who really believes in that "good guys/bad guys" thing is really an idiot. the ones you think are good are really bad and the ones you think are the biggest threat are the ones who save your ass when u need it. quit judging people.
The solution is in this website:

@dereksabastian17 That may be true but... If you have no break in evidence... Insurance claims filings are difficult... Only if we had forensic lock investigators =)

Why do they teach people this on National TV~ God let everyone know about this... Crooks get taught on tv. Way to go
sdangela 1 year ago
I like how they pretend this didn't do more harm than good. Thousands of criminals in the making have been alerted to something a ten year old can figure out. But they didn't show to make it because that would be irresponsible. Anyone with an Internet connection can find out how to make one. Top notch reporting dumbasses.
steelcity1017 1 year ago
I bought some from SUPERBUMPKEYS. com and they really worked, at first i couldnt believe what i was seeing, so i had to test this on my house and good thing i did because i found out i had to change my locks. atleast buy 1 to test your locks at home. its better to spend alittle on testing then to spend alot on replacing all your belongings.

this is just going to show people how to do it...stupid
frendlyman 1 year ago
The thing is, people who wanna gain access will do that, whether it's breaking in through the window or bumping the lock. The important part is making sure they can't get back out through the front door by using a lock for the turnkey. Proper thieves won't carry your shit through the window, they get hurt and the stuff can get busted, and most of all - it takes time and makes noise.

Nice one stupid news channel. Tell everyone else how to burgle people's houses!!
gunmadkiller 1 year ago 2
The information NEEDS to get out there so that people know about it. Doing so will force manufacturers to make locks less susceptible to bumping as demand increases. Or would you rather they just keep all this hush so potential victims are kept in the dark?

@gunmadkiller maybe you should watch 00:54 before you comment.

@TheSummerrider mate last week i bought a bump key (euro cyl) on the net for £3.50 and it works!! just turn the key hard and smack it with a screwdriver its mental
gunmadkiller 1 year ago
@gunmadkiller I believe you. I'm a victim of bump locking. I just use pad locks and latch locks on my door, works like a charm. I was shocked because I live in a very good area. I assume my neighbor did it because he had some kind of vendetta against me because I drive sports cars. More so, he has been caught bump locking the back door of our building before.
TheSummerrider 1 year ago
bumpkeys are the real deal, i got my set at superbumpkeys. com and i was able to open the lock to my old bicycle. i also opened my garage door and my front door.

MarkH10 2 years ago
a bump key is considered a burglary tool. Not that the cops are gonna check peoples keys, but maybe they should.
slowplaythis 2 years ago
a bump key is not considered a burglary tool. it is a professional locksmithing tool that can be used for burglary.

"Locks by Medeco and Schlage Primus can't be bumped"
Google Marc Weber Tobias Medeco 3
marshall8787 2 years ago
the likelihood of successfully bumping a medeco or primus cylinder is pretty slim. unless you are a professionally trained locksmith with a lot of experience, the average person wont be able to do it. its harder than it looks because of the construction of the cylinder.
visno 1 year ago
I totally agree. But "can't be bumped" is not the same as "Is very difficult to bump".
