I just looked up wikipedia and scott baio was born in 1960 and kristy mcnichol was born in 1962. Love Boat is from 1977-1986. If this info is correct and this show is 1977, then that means baio was about 17 and mcnichol must have been 15. But Baio's voice seems to not have even changed yet. And he looks like he's 14.

Scott Baio must have been a 80s trendsetter to start a fashion that would become the norm in the early to mid 80s, even though this was from 1976. Though the biggest trendsetter was Michael Jackson around this time, though. So I can't argue with MJ's fashion influences, though.
