Very interesting. On one hand the film seems to use tones of a racial segregation against the red character. And at first, to me anyways, it looked as if it was a reverse or a "getting even" type of Caucasians vs Africans scenario. But then at the end as we saw, the Angel like character goes and gives the lonely(the facial expressions are a bit vague)red character a pair of wings, a chance to be free of being exiled or alienated -

@medredix - However you realize that the Red character actually is an in fact a real Alien when him and the other look a like character descends down into the other wise impossible hole that appears in the ground on outskirts of the films main location(the city.)

All in all I rather liked this short film. =) Thank you Future Shorts it was most enjoyable!

It seems as though the angel is the shooting star that is going to grant the little devil's wish,which was for companionship,so he became his companion and even though he is an angel he went to "hell" with the devil as a sacrifice to keep that companionship. Brilliant animation and concept. And I just looked in the description box "The melancholic film follows an unlucky lonesome creature and his attempts to find a guardian angel." oh well,in the end it's up to personal interpretation.

I don't know about anyone else... this may be wayy off... but to me this means, like, there's this guy who just wants to be happy... so he does anything he can to be happy, follows the people that are doing bad things. but he's not cool enough to do those things... so he ends up taking the "good" path... but even though to anyone on the outside, he's "good", he's still in the same living hell.

but I might just be insane.

Yeah. He spent so much time thinking about how he was different and what he wished for that he didn't live in the present. There's that saying, "Be careful what you wish for because it might come true." This is true for our little red friend, who got what he wanted, but it may not have been exactly as he expected. In fact, it may have been worse than where he originally was. We don't know.

On the other side, the message could be keep searching, you'll find your place. It depends on your view.

the red thing is not a dog it is a demon. i think that the angel and the demon were both looking (and wishing) for a friend and then they met and the demon tricked the angel into going to hell with it. the moral is: be careful what you wish for. great film!

Ok, great piece. Here's how I took it: THe litte red dog was looking for a friend/mate. The angel felt emphathy for the dog after watching it fail to find a place it belonged and sacrificed his 'angelness' to be a friend regardless of the cost.
