Christianity is founded mostly on the New Testament, in which there are only 3 texts concerning homosexuality. Romans. 1,18-27; 1. Kor. 6, 9-10; 1. Tim. 1, 9-10.

Because the bible is poorly written and extremely unclear, so everyone's "interpretation" is different. You interpret the torture and murder of homosexuals as a GOOD THING in the OT. In fact, all the laws preventing homosexual rights in the U.S. are based on the OT, so there are many Christians who interpret it to be correct.

Part 2: about torturing and killing homosexuals have not been abolished. In fact, Jesus (who actually IS Yahweh in human form) never spoke out against these laws that he himself created. Jesus also never spoke out against slavery or raping virgins either, which were advocated in the First Testament as well. What about the Theban Legion? They had great moral, discipline, and unit cohesion. Not only the Theban Legion, but the Greeks were very tolerant and even celebratory of homosexuality. Christianity is founded mostly on the New Testament, in which there are only 3 texts concerning homosexuality. Romans. 1,18-27; 1. Kor. 6, 9-10; 1. Tim. 1, 9-10.
e.g. quote: "For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature."
If you now think of homosexuality as nothing contrary to nature - as I do, I think my nature is to be bisexuall and nothing else - there is no saying in the new testament left, that dooms sexuality.

Unfortunaely, Christians who do this are not well versed in the bible. Matt 5:18 "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." Jesus is very clear in this passage when he says that Yahweh's laws in the First Testament (con't)

Concearning the old testament: Yes, there are passages that doom homosexuality. BUT: You have to think of the time and place it was written. Of course they had an interest in guaranteeing heterosexuality as it provides children.
But even in the old Testament there are passages telling of love and passion between two people of the same gender.
At last you can't and shouldn't read the bible without interpretation.

Religion and Homosexuality don't have to exclude each other. I'm quite happy to have founded believes and it gives me hope and strength. The only person who'd be allowed to say something against that would be my girlfriend but she's totally okay with it, even though she's an Atheist.
