Ghost video recording at Old York Hospital - Perth Ghost Hunters

......continued, to make it creepy the door was locked, so we tried the other door and that was locked too. we got pretty scared and eventually after trying the door opened. we reported it but the teachers to listen saying it was the wind. then one night i woke up to see all the curtains blowing up and down, as you know it gets cold in York at night so all windows and doors were shut. i wasn't sorry to leave that place

I stayed there for my year 10 school camp for a week in 1990. we heard noises and we tried to scare each other but nothing really happened. then one day, a group of about 10 of us were in the boys dorm, and i decided to walk to the toilets, as i came to the door which was open, it slammed in my face just missing me. the door was open and against the wall so there was nothing behind it, what makes it stranger is that the door on the other side of the dorm slammed at the same time........

I only know what my brother & his mates witnessed there years ago........one mate heard another mate calling him from ahead but when he ran forward his mate was running from behind having heard his name being called. They were all pretty tripped out but addicted & used to go there quite often. I parked up out front once or twice but had an awful feeling & saw dark orbs so wouldbn't venture in :-)

@nworb Hey there I went on a school camp to the Old York Hospital in 1985, and there was a documentary team staying there filming at the same time.. Us girls stayed in the old maternity ward, and the boys stayed in the upstairs dorm in the main building. We were meant to stay a week but ended up leaving after a few days when weird things happened. My final memory of that place was looking out the back of the bus and seeing an old fashioned woman in the upstairs window second from the left..

Interesting, send us a link. There has been people living there for a few years now. Before the current owners moved in, someone also lived around the back and kept an eye in and around the former hospital.

@joeliv3y I live in York and I saw the exact same thing! I wasnt quick enough to think about getting a photo because she was just standing there and slowly drifted away from the window....I just stood there and stared - completely mesmerised!

We heard of stories about the place but always concentrated our effort on the main building. We were told about a female that haunted the nurses house building by the caretaker.

@allicando1 Hey there is a 13 part documentary called ghosts haunted on youtube about Australia and they mention this hospital and have an interview with the teachers who accompanied students there in the 80s for camping. R you from that group? The stories the teachers told were pretty scary.

I stayed here back in 1997 when i went to guildford grammar... the teachers made us watch a show on the hospital.... i shat myself,so when we went there i was even more scared...but nothing ever happened.... its not haunted....

That's correct. It's the sound you should be just listening for. The sound of unexplained footsteps reported also by other visitors.

@HellSiega666 No homeless in York. Its a very quiet country town. While inside, footsteps were heard approaching another investigator and matched other peoples experiences inside. Even the new owners of OYH can't explain some things since moving in.

Hello there we stayed at the old York Hospital back in the 90s as back then it was a YHA hostel and we stopped over night and experinced nothing , but my son did fall out of bed my brother was awoken by a stranger choking around the throat also my son was apparently just laying on his bed staring.........

i was there on school camp years ago ,we stayed on the top floor of the old building ,it is one very wierd place i cant find any documents on the place but apparently its haunted by an old matron ,write me if u got clues?

yes it is haunted i believe so i stayed there 20 yrs ago on school camp and i saw what lloked like a figure in the top attic window when i was outside and also heard other kids sensing something especially at night time...i likd that place a lot!!!

Nice catch! There's a lot of non-verbal paranormal stuff out there but it's rarely this clear.

my teacher she used to be a nuse in melebourne and she told us a story that happend to her she said"on the top floore was the chidrens ward every xmas they send the kids home so none would be up there once she was working xmas night and the other nurse said have you been up to the top floore at this time no well go up there so she did she went up and walked left and right and then when she went go on the lift she felt these little kids toching her legs and saying dont go dontleave us werlonly

I too can vouch that that place is haunted as well, my dad and grand dad where both born in there, i was unlucky enough to be born at the new/old hospital, but have seen strange things going on inside from the outside as a kid.

Ive always got the worst feelings walking plast that place

Even the resendency museum gives me the shivers.

One of our neighbours out on a farm was the last baby to be born there, this i guess was a good 40 odd years ago.

It's defniatly haunted.

Also, the old jail gives me a slight discomfotable feeling. Alot of my mates have thought the same thing.

Yes, it just happened to be highlighted by the IR during the recording of the footsteps. It's just the sound to listen for. For people watching this video, turn up your volume as much as you can.

I could tell that flying thing was a moth, but the footsteps... ugg! I have stayed in the hospital when it was a hostel and I have two other close aquaintences that have too and there is definately something WRONG with that place. It was the worst night of my life (or one of them...) FREAKY! Horrible place. I have no idea how anyone could live there.

My eldest sister stayed there when they still used it for school camps. She saw a full-bodied apparition and was chased down the flight of stairs (she'd curiously checked out the second level).  She has never been that scared again in her life. Anything interesting happen to your friends?

Ten out of ten, peoples:). You call a moth a moth, whereas a lot of investigators would call orb, or supernatural entity.

Yes it is a horrible creepy place, I have had the misfortune of staying there in it's hostel days. Nothing actually visual happened, but I heard footsteps from under the sleeping bag I was hiding in (LOL) and felt HORRIBLE and opressed as if I should leave. Also Freo Asylum definately has problems... been there also, felt a crushing opressed sensation, I was so freaked out and it was daytime

Both are horrible places, I have had the displeasure of visiting both, I stayed at the Old York when it was a hostel, and it was one of the most horrible nights of my life, the asylem is creepy and oppressive and there are presences everywhere!
