Well, my teacher's pretty cool, he makes us work yes, but of course that's school. It's my first year in high school and it feels like you're an ant in a colony, and you aren't really important since there's so many other students out there, but the freshmen teachers get along with us. My band teacher goes a little too far with the whole marching band thing, he gets mad at all of us as a whole even though only a few kids talk during practice.
The "average" person THINKS they know what teaching is about because they once were in school. They have no idea how much more goes into teaching besides what they see. No only what you mention but also the political stuff we have to deal with (State Regulations, Federal, Administrative, No Child Left Behind, and many many more "add-ons", and all the work we do after school.!)
Would you not agree that given the desperate need for teacher retention and the lack of attractin for new teachers to the field of education..salary, lack of respect etc... that the paranoia associated with this job has gotten way out of hand? no wonder so few are becoming teachers
