Blackmore was one of the most unique players of rock guitar. He practicly invented the neo-classical movement. He was whamming and finger tapping way before van halen etc. He was on par with hendrix a true innovator

Page was good in the studio when he overdubbed his guitar with 4 layered tracks. Live page was sadly, and horribly sloppy. There's nothing Page can play that Blackmore would have a challenge playing.

If you like RB check out the incredible jazz runs he does on "Wring That Neck" in Bilzen 69 and Paris 1970. You'll then see why he's better than Page, Clapton, SRV and the fat guy from Sweden. I like all those guys, but none are as good as Ritchie.
