In Preston's written debate with a fellow named Jerry McDonald, McDonald says Don's accusation that ROE is an atheist would point back to Don's own theology: "...then all of man has been judged and nothing applies to us today. However, he refuses to answer as to whether or not the Bible is all sufficient. If it is not all sufficient, then it is not inspired. If it is not inspired then we have no hope of salvation, we are without God. Ergo Don’s position is “atheism.”
I for one am disappointed with Don Preston hiding from this challenge to debate with RiversOfEDen. The two men are coming from the same Full Preterist perspective and it would be a big deal to see how Preston responds to a detailed discussion of the weaker points of his position that Rivers has begun to show. Now I wonder if Preston's boasting is all in vain. Preston - a great debater????

He also says Riverofeden is not in line with church history or the creeds but neither is full or hyperpreterism either. Isn't that the same reason that James White doesn't want to debate Preston? it seems like all semantics here...

Really? Preston has hit a new low. He whines and complains people won't debate hyperpreterists because hyperpreterism is heretical yet here Preston grossly misrepresents RoEs beliefs. RoE's theology is NOT "atheism" since RoE DOES believe in God. RoE's theology is NOT racist unless Preston thinks God's special love for His people is racist??? If anything, many hyperpreterists come off as almost anti-Semitic -- not RoE.
Preston can't debate Riversofeden. Riversofeden would never agree to sell the recordings so Preston couldn't make any money off of it even if he won. If he lost, who would continue to buy his books and attend his conferences. It's all about the money, with Preston and any other "teacher" that makes their living off of peddling the word of God.
I wish RiversOf Eden would write some books or make a website. He knows more about Full Preterism and the Bible than anyone I've ever heard. I don't know Preston's motives for avoiding the debate but maybe his is worried because he has met his match in ROE.

My only agenda is to see them both debate the issues from scripture, but Preston would obviously rather attack people personally.
@wallsofjericho4 That folks there is the debate "champion" -- A guy who admits he couldn't "grow" his heresy over a 14 year period with a captive audience. A guy who claims to be "president" of a one man "institute". A guy who challenges others but won't allow himself to be challenged. A guy who misrepresents people so he can weasel out of a debate. A guy who threatens people with banning when Don can't respond.
I've been following some of Rivers Of Edens podcasts and he makes very convincing arguments from scripture that other full prets like Don Preston are not telling the whole truth. ROE explains how Preston's own arguments not only prove that the Parousia and resurrection happened in the first century, but also that God's redemption must have ended too becuase both the Jews and the Gentiles were all tribes of Israel.
I haven't heard Mr. Preston or any of the preterists able to refute him.
instead of spreading bit & bites over the internet...why don't you issue an open challenge or a letter, with your background to confront Don Preston.!? I think he should not avoid your proposal.
@IndianPreterist We have sent several formal request to Preston without any reply which is the reason it makes him hypocritical to complain that James White won't debate him. Preston won't debate ROE because there is no money or notoriety in it; only the possibility that Preston will be shamed.
riverofeden and Don preston are both hyperpreterist but riverofeden admits that hyperpreterism is heresy because when Don Preston says that all prophecy was fulfill in 70ad then all Christianity of the Bible must also end at 70ad...riversofeden has shown that a literal understanding of time statments in the bible also demands a bodily resurrection in 70ad... i would like to see them debate the nature of the resurrection of believers
