  • hsm = hyper sonic motor, but "high speed motor" explain it very well :D

  • I have problems w/ thesame lens..when adjusting zoom out it will be jumped and not totally focused, anybody can help me?please.

  • Can you actually show us the focus speed and motor noise???

  • ok?

  • hello steven hawkings

  • Is it good lens?

  • @mn3ei The optic is very good for this type of lens. But it does require a lot of light for it to focus quickly indoor. Then again, it's typical for this type of lens (even from other brands).

  • WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR HANDSTRAP FROM? i saw it once in a photo store but can't find it anywhere now.

  • @markazz218 Ebay...they've got tons and cheap.

  • can i use this lens in my d5000?

  • @ocriticz this lens is compatible with any Nikon cameras that uses Nikkor AF-S lens.

  • nikor 18-200 is 3 x more expencive...is it 3 x better?

  • @lokingloking it has much faster focusing and full-time manual focus override. I've never tried it (I'm Canon user) so I can't speak for the optics, but there's likely many compromises as this lens has. It does have f5.6 which makes it faster and more reliable to focus on crop sensor cameras.

  • Alright, sir! Thanks! :P

  • Are you the voice of Microsoft Sam? =D

  • does this lens fit on the d3100 model?

  • @BeppeOwnage Yes

  • One thing to note, the lens emits a faint high pitched whine constantly when the camera is powered on (I have observed this in my Canon copy and a friend's Nikon copy of the lens), though this is only audible to younger users as their hearing can still pick up those kinds high frequency sounds.

Despite this, it in no way affects normal operation or performance.

Overall, I'm happy with the lens, though the AF can be a little slow at times.

  • I have one , this is pretty good lens, and doesn't fall of nikon. For all around lens with my D90 I am very satisfied/

  • I just bought the same lens..for my nikon d300s..its actually my first lens for my first dslr camera. and after seeying this video i have many questions, you mentioned the wide angle is not that good , Im looking for a good lens for wedding picture and neewborn..i was thinking about: 17-55mm nikon, 85mm nikon and 70-200 vr...which one you think will be the best for both wide and zoom? thanks!

  • great review pal, but i have question because I am also thinking to buy an 18-200 but i dont have a lot of money. so which one will you suggest, sigma or tamron. thanks

  • @ny1fanta sigma

  • your d60 is shit

  • hey great video what grip are you using??

  • do you have a battery grip on your camera?

  • This lens has SHIT picture quality.

I bought it to replace my 18-55 and 55-200, but the quality is so bad that it's worth the inconvenience of switching between my 18-55 and 55-200 than using this!!

  • @saskLS1 then why dont u just buy the Nikon one?

  • will this lense work on nikon D5000? reply asap please thanks :D

  • @patrickjambo17 Yes it will work on the D5000.

  • @saskLS1 thanks, is it good? it can take good quality and sharper pictures? :D

  • how are you pleased with th os(optical stabilizer?)Is it comparable with the nikkor 18-200?

  • hello

  • is this lens work for canon eos 50d?

  • is this lens compatible with the nikon D70s?

  • yeah it is,

if it works with any nikon, it shall work for your D70

  • I thought the nikon d60 needed an AF-S lens to autofocus ?? How does it work on this sigma lens??

  • is this a good lens

    ?

  • how long it is in cm when you all zomm in??

and how much was this lens??

  • Can't tell, is this the Microsoft Sam voice?

  • thats what im thinking..hmm

  • Sigma 17-70mm f2.8

    Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3

    Wich one should i choose?

  • 2.8 no contest

  • what do you want to shoot>>?

  • it's for my photography study.

  • i know but what will you be taking pictures of??

  • Comment removed

  • Well for so far not a specific target. I need kind a 'allround' lens to improve myself. The Nikkor 35mm f1.8 G DX or the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 I think.

    any suggests?

  • I have a Nikon D60 as well and I'm in doub about to buy the Nikkor 18-200 or this lense, what do you think about the Nikkor 18-200?

    thanks in advance

    regards from mexico

  • If you have the extra money, go with the Nikon lens. I have had a few issues with the Sigma and required sending it in for repair. Not very confident in the quality of the Sigma.

  • Thanks dude for your sooner response :)

    regards from mexico

  • Always buy Nikon if you can afford it. Except for the Tokina 11-16mm, which is sharper than the 12-24mm Nikkor.

  • @dial2fast yet you fail to mention this in your video.

    Why?

  • how much did the lense cost?

  • I paid $370 online new from an authorized retailer. You can watch my Part 2 video to get more info.

  • Nice lens! I have the Nikon 18-200 VR and I love it. You can't go wrong with the 18-200 range. Sure beats swapping lenses. Enjoy!!

  • how do i do to focus ? not auto

  • If you bought a Sigma without the HSM function, then your D40, D40x, D60 will not autofocus.

  • ahh, my new christmas present. That and a sigma 10-20 wide angle are perfect for my d40.
