The guitar riffs and some portions resemble both the songs Gimme Shelter by Rolling Stones and Smooth Operator by Sade, but this song is definitely among the 90s classics. Miss those great times.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year 2009 everyone.
kinda makes me think of taken the Christ out of Christmas , the son of god's birthday given to a day of greed and glutny..christmas is the new F%^& , so merry christ-mas all!
You're welcome to your opinion of course, but if you don't like Collective Soul, why the fuck are you watching this video? If it's just to talk shit, why don't you just take it elsewhere? I don't think your brilliant and insightful comments are going to change anybody's opinion.
the 90's wasn't just a decade...every new day i spent in the 90's was always something new and awesome. This song played through my head frequently during that time...man, do i miss the 90's
wow, i was 8 years old when this first came out. i first heard this song threw my father. i would never have imagined 13 years down the road, I would be rockin it. fuck yea go collective soul. you fuckin rock
Excellent song from an excellent band. I remember when this song was played on the radio all the time, but nobody i know ever got sick of it. Rare to find a song like that nowadays!
omg this song is one of their greatest.. reminds me of my dad playing with his band in his base ment when i was 2. i really miss those days when i lived with both my parents in st louis.
wow i havent heard this song since i was 4 lol when it used to play on the radio i always sang the words wrong but it was cute and the same time. when i heard it now im like, omg i remember this song. this is a classic, an amazing classic
any of you ever had deep love for a woman or had a woman with the same feelings for you? This song goes both ways!!! TURN YOUR HEAD AND SPIT ME OUT of your life!!!
I'm doing the best I can, Wolfie. With a possible no.5. You're no.4, ever since Paul got bumped for not doing his year. Your year is up. If you want me to keep in touch, we'll see.
this is the best song evahh i know. aything collective soul does.. brillant. trust me im the collective soul fanatic! ive met them and everythingg.. im their biggest fan!! (:
awesome! im happy to hear that! my dad and mom have been fans since the begining... i wasnt born in 1993, so yeah ive been an obsesssive fan for 4 years! haha ive met them, written them, gone swimming with them (haha i have!), gotten talked to on stage by them, song detications from Joel (guitar player) autograpghs, and guitar picks. haha im pretty obsessive! and im glad you like them now, too! :D

The President of the United States of America,Green Day,Blind melon,Collective Soul,Smashing Pumpkins,Blues Travler's.That was great music back in the 90's.
For any of you stupid motherfuckers who don't remember your past, or you weren't fortunate enough to fit the timeline, know that the 90's were the imperial time to be coming up, there is no comparison anytime. Don't think i'm the only one who see's it either. And i'm only 29
The 90s were supposedly a remedy to cure our selfish ways in the 80s but I suffered 2 divorces in the 90s so Diego, until you go through more than one relationship you'll never know and I turn 43 years young later in September 2008...Mikey
this song reminds me of my best friend who is gone now and his girl friend. they'd argue and she'd always say "you use me and spit me out." the song is incredible!
i'll always love you tim. see you on the other side bro'.
Wait... Just listen to the lyrics, . . . December Promises you gave unto me December whispers of treachery....What they are saying is your meaningless to me, december being endless and cold. and this line. . . dont throw away your basic needs: ambience and vanity... Come on, tell me thats not about a girl
You know, you shouldnt always assume every song is a bout a girl. Think past relationships and try to think of deeper meanings to music. Sometimes messages are hidden in artists music.
Someone asked what this song is about. It is about not being accepted for your beliefs, beliefs in God. Its Collective Souls way of saying they wouldn't be accepted if they came out as a openly christian band.
If you listen to most of thier songs with this in mind, you will hear MANY religeous undertones.
While some may hate them for this. Others, and I applaud them.
My interpretation of this song is the breakdown of a relationship due to conflicting beliefs. Probably due to the vid.
That said: hold up. There is a huge number of Christians in rock and metal. There is also a valid point in the criticism of "christian" genre bands that use their beliefs as a way to hide a lack of talent. Not that Collective Soul is guilty of this, but some are.
I'm curious. Would you applaud someone from a different belief system doing similar? Buddhists? Pagans? Satanists?
Oh don't worry about solitare-I think if your not playing cards with real money it should be alright. My father inlaw thinks cards are evil and I'm intimadated by him because he was a minister.
its not what goes into the mouth that makes a man a sinner but what comes out of the mouth. we are not to judge or condem others, In each heart we all know what is right and wrong in life. religious legalistic people need to get a real life in the Lord and Love their neighbor as they would love their own self then you have life more abundantly.
