The only three cast members in the upcoming Les Miserables movie I'm sure about are Valjean, Madme T., and Enjoras. Hugh Jackman I'm okay with, Helena Bonham Carter can character sing, and Aaron Tveit has been on Broadway for years and he never graduated from college. Russel Crowe, and Anne Hathaway, I'm not so sure about. I just hope they don't ruin it...

Also, there have been actors and actresses I never expected could sing that pulled it off. i think he could manage that inner darkness that Javert has. the high notes???? if he's fanatical enough with his vocal training, quite a bit can be done. it takes quality time in the practice room. good luck russell.

I have friends who have worked with Russell Crowe and they report that, without a doubt, he is totally up his own ass. I found that very disappointing to learn because he is a good actor. As a professional singer/songwriter myself I can tell you this much, if he was singing out of tune, she would have NEVER been able to follow him with her harmony, it just can't be done. I know, I sing and have sung harmony/backup vocals for a number of people. It is impossible believe me. He does great for someone who is not really 'called' to be a singer but to be an actor. give him the credit due, let's see you try?
