Except that it's the password for your network. If you tapped into a network protected by a classic WPA or WPA2 password that does not appear in any dictionary to cowpatty attack, you were so fucked up and you luštil him for three days and I just could not find the password. So that is not what the compliment. I have caught a lot of WPA handshake and I still failed to crack a dictionary attack or a network with WPA or WPA2 encryption. WEP key is simple, you louskám to 15 seconds.

I use WPA Personal, TKIP+AES with a 64 character alpha-numeric key and MAC filter with no SSID broadcast at 5.8GHz. I don't think any of my neighbors are going to find my Cisco Aironet.

im sorry to say but when you did the handshake you already was connected to the access point it clearly said connected, so you already knew the password and therefore it wasnt really a hack??? it takes a hell of alot longer than that to crack wpa to be honest its just to get the views for his video dont believe this shit, iv tested wireless networks and this is impossible even with the newest exploits and tools

Not really. I have a 64 million word dictionary on a AMD C-50 dual core processor (laptop) and it usually takes 3-4 minutes to crack WPA/WPA2. I think people are just skipping important steps.

@oreilzac Yes, password complexity is one thing, but usually passwords are like that in WPA. Most people use their very first password ever. This is however, very stupid. Reason: Whenever the router resets the pass becomes the very first ever. This gives you a window of opportunity to in all but physically steal the router. Passwords for WPA are often like 410A32C5. Sometimes they have a little repeation to them like 041A4941.

wpa cracking actually takes a very long time even when a you have a fast processor and a good dictionary, so obviously all you did was make a text file containing only the password and called it a dictionary. would not work in real life situation
