i was at one of these shows, i think i was at the first night, i think it was a friday? i do remember they opened with this song though. anybody remember out there ?
"UFO's live album is one of the best live recordings ever."
I know that Live and Dangerous by Thin Lizzy was overdubbed in the studio before being released. I feel, I would be safe in saying that Strangers in the Night was not a pure LIVE recording.
@AXEFLYERFV FUCK THEM ANYWAYS!! I really don't care the thumbs up or dowm, I will send a lil note to Youtube if they can put [ ASSHOLES ] instead of DISLIKES!!!
I was there witha buddy on a thrusday in 94 in chicago's Vic and it was hot as fuck! especially with so many people. I met michael in the lobby; $25 dollars for an autographed private album. he looked bad tho' because of the heroin abuse; stickman with pale looks and matty, dried flat hair. We got very drunk, got lost finding our car in a homo hood, took a shit in some homo's gangway, but 3 hrs later found it. concert remided me of ampitheater in '79
this was the opening song...hot as hell( mid augest in chicago ) the a/c went out at the vic..... they had fans everywhere ...it was so funny how no one realized that it was REALLY micheal on stage it took like to the second song before any of the drunks figured out WHO was on stage !...shhh my and my ex right in front of micheal ! ! ! ! the show totaly smoked !
@karaokekills Lights Out was to be the gateway album for bigger success for the band. But Michael abandoned the US tour, and only played Chicago,if I remember right. They didn't reach as far as they could've .
IMO there's no UFO without Schenker, I sure wouldn't have bought their albums to begin with. Its a shame cause Schenker has never had a singer as good as Mogg eiter, except Pattison who is amazing, but thats a studio thing.
I don't know exactly where I saw it but I've seen Pete Way kiss Schenker on the cheek while they're playing. Not in a gay way really, but you're right, I think if Way had his way Schenker would never have never left UFO. I wish he never left also.
I forget which video it is but I've seen Way kiss Schenker on the cheek while they were playing. I think he got pretty reved up when Schenker was back with the band. So did I.
No need to reply. I just realized I saw Dokken that same year in Chicago at a place called The Vic Theatre. I saw UFO in Indianapolis but the ticket doesn't say the name of the venue. Sorry for wasting your time dude.
thnx for your comment man & you're not wasting nobody's time,I'm glad you got to experience this show from the Vic Theatre & you made it even without teeth but happy, lol!!!
Hey AXEFLYERFV I still have my ticket stub from the Mon. Sept. 18th show (which Michael signed). Is this video from that show or the other one? Regardless I remember it was a killer show and meeting Schenker was cool to especially since I almost didn't go. The night before I got drunk and got my ass kicked (including getting my teeth knocked out). When I handed Michael my ticket to autograph he said in full German accient "What happend to you? NEVER FORGET IT. Please reply back.
I was at both of these shows, at the Metro in Chicago...they were AMAZING! Even got to meet Michael before the show, he was selling CDs in the lobby! Just saw UFO last night in Aurora, IL with Vinnie Moore, they just ain't as good without Michael! Rock on!
yea they played 4 nights at the metro in chicago they played strangers in the night live plus some songs from walk on water album i wish they would reform while they are still alive and play no heavy petting album in its entirety reasons love is the best song they ever recorded
UFO is the shit....but its clear to me and anyone else who knows what they are watching for that schenker is the total backbone...listen to those damn chops...the rythmn is just all MS..undoubtably and unmistakenly the one and only...
I saw this Walk On the Water reunion at "The Edge" at Mountainview North California. I went there with my Baby Blue. I even have a signed CD from that time. I remember I talked with Pete Way about Peyronel.
Yeah man. I was at this show too. It was incredible! I have to admit though, that MSG in 1999 at the Edge in Palo Alto for the Unforgiven World Tour was just as good to me. The musicianship in his solo band (as much as I hate to admit it) was actually better AND they played songs from Michael's entire career. I'm TOTALLY not raining on your "UFO Parade" here, because I LOVE UFO, but just sharing my amazingly inspiring moments with you from The Edge with the Greatest living Rock Guitarist. Peace!
I heard 2 rumors 1 was a Foot injury & 2 the was he was getting fed up with the continuous feud between Schenker & Mogg, but I think it was mostly the injury!I heard it through the grapevine,LOL!!
I saw UFO with Schenker in 1997. It was awesome. For me the real UFO is with Schenker and off course Mogg/Way/Parker?Raymond.I am glad that Michael and Gary Barden or back together again and make a new album, but I miss UFO with Michael.
I was at this show where can I get a copy of this vid??? Only after I left did I find out there were vids for sale and were sold out when we went back....
Hey myche, did you know Simon Phillips & Don Airey played on the first MSG album and Phillips also played drums on Judas Priest SIN AFTER SIN,you're pretty well informed but just in case you didn't know!
I had never put 2and 2 together about Simon and thats one of my old fav's from Priest but admittedly, I only had it on 8-track and wore the H out of it, and a few Trowers and Bad Reputation to name a few of the only other ones I had. ( I have about 100 sealed 8tracks now, even some UFO i ya want one)Obsession :^)
Saw them in Indianapolis a little before this...or right after....one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Schenker is scheduled to release a new MICHAEL
SCHENKER GROUP (MSG) album in April called "In the
Midst Of Beauty", which will feature returning MSG
singer Gary Barden, drummer Simon Philips (THE WHO,

and keyboardist Don Airey (DEEP PURPLE, OZZY
OSBOURNE).
