  • I wonder how big Henry's cock was

  • @localloadie How does one remember as a composer (without twinging) a self aggrandizing, self serving jerk who none dared gainsay? A man who had countless good people killed, who forcibly wrenched England away from its religious heritage, and who did these things and more, all in quest of a male heir, geared to his misogynist notions of dynasty? Henry VIII will be remembered alright, but his sweet tunes are and should be but a footnote in the legacy that he left.

  • Doctor Lecter love it :)

  • @localloadie But you know a lot of people doubt of Henry VIII credit for a lots of song that he claim to be his ??? Personally I believe he was a Luteist and composer althought there is a debate about it

    ..

  • So is her reconstruction of the language alright?

  • Another great video, I especially enjoyed seeing many images of Mary that I have not seen before, such as the treaties....

I'm curious which is your favorite portrait of her? I think mine might be the Mor one, even if it's not very flattering it's so incredibly life-like and well done it looks like a photograph....I went crazy when I came upon it in the Prado in Madrid!

  • Well said.

  • Beautiful! Love the purity of the music from this era. Thanks littlemisssunnydale!

  • all your uploads are FANTASTIC! thanx. Any cd suggestions ?

  • Thank you!!

I recommend "All Goodly Sports: Music of Henry VIII" by a group called Sirinu. The song in the video is from the album.

  • Oh, how nice of you dear friend. I 've heard of them, even have some songs of theirs on some compilations. I will definately look for it. Thanks for your kindness

  • he did: he was actually a good poet.

much of his work was on love and youth.

  • do you know when henry wrote this?

  • There are few videos dedicated to Mary I.

This is wonderful and the music gives one a real 'feel' of being there in Tudor times at the Court of Henry VIII. 5 Stars. :)

  • so amazing how pretty she was when she was young and then suddenly she was not beautiful at all

  • A youth spent in hardship trying to survive an abusive tyrant of a father as Henry VIII was would kill anyone's looks imo. Henry pretty much destroyed Mary mind, body, and nearly her soul by the time she came to the throne in middle age.

  • fascinating

  • it really makes me travel to tudor court. lovely. it is such a pity not to have lived in those times.

  • Well I'm sure your standard of living is far higher than 99.9% of people that lived then!

  • Even higher than the standard of living of the king. Perhaps I do not have golden beakers, but I have access to antibiotics, pain killers and could be in in few hours in Paris ... just to name a few benefits of our time which Henry VIII could even not dreamed of.

  • great vid. poor mary ended up dieing unloved. she had a hard life

  • Thats a beautiful work you have done.

    I like the song.

  • again another fantastic video! bravo!!!

  • Thank you :)

  • A wonderful work

  • Thank you :)

  • Another lovely piece - thank you! Could you note info about the recording as well? Thx.

  • By which I mean, who are the recording artists and the label? I'd like to buy the CD. Thx.

  • Yep - this version is sung by the group Sirinu, from the album entitled, "All Goodly Sports"

  • Love the vid, she was very beautuful when longer she looks quite like her mother

  • Thank you :)

  • Very nice work as always! Is the last image that of a death mask, by any chance? Looks very life-like, but not very much like Mary after looking at her many portraits of her in your video

  • Thank you! That is her funeral effigy - the rest of it has practically decayed away.

  • Elizbaeth was his eldest surviving child.

  • I meant that out of all his surviving children was the eldest. Henry had four children that survived infancy (Mary, Fitzroy, Elizabeth and Edward) and Mary was the eldest of all four.

  • Oh thanks :) I understand now. Good video although I don't like Mary.

  • no she wasnt Mary was

  • No Mary died when she was 42 and ELizabeth dies when she was 70.

  • What I though she meant at first was who lived the longest not who was the eldest of the four.
