I agree its not your average thorax but if you look an actual mayfly larvae..... big beefy thorax there!

What we have to remember is that this is his personal interpretation of the fly. Sure, i would use gold wire instead of tinsel, cut down the thorax a little bit, then pick the dubbing a little for a buggy look, but thatt's just my impression. Great tying job, good video.

Maybe too fat, also I dont think a gold tinsel would bring more catch. Just a green dubbing on a little jig would bring better result. We are forgetting that fish doesn't give a shit about how much time + effort we spent for tying a fly.

id use thin oval tinsel and to be more economic you can use the underfur picked out of the tail

very good tie realy. but i agree with mxboy. i would use copper or gold wire because that tinsel is way to thick for that size fly. and another thingi noticed is that i think you dubbed the torax way to thick unless later you are going to pick it out tocreate avery buggy look but i think it just looks far to thick. nice tie otherwize tho
