GREEN Yoshi - Shoots regular shells unless RED or YELLOW as it will shoot a Tri-Fire, purple shell allows him to fly

RED Yoshi - Shoots Tri-Fire other than that PURPLE shell allows him to fly

YELLOW Yoshi - Shoots Tri-Fire other than that every shell will allow him to ROFLStomp enemies near him creating a shockwave

PURPLE yoshi - Allows him to fly with any shell other than that every shell does the same as GREEN Yoshi eats

In answer to 8:28 - Yes, Jeff, there IS a way to legit fly. Get a blue Yoshi and a cape. Hit the P-Switch, and use your ability to float to get to the temporary cluster of 14 brown blocks. Before the P-Switch wears off, quickly have Yoshi nom one of the red Koopas. Yoshi will now have wings and you can pass through the rest of the level quite easily...assuming you can avoid collisions, of course.
