I pretty much bound every seam until I ran out of the bias seam tape I had made. I had quite a bit, so I think I did the sleeve seam, as well. The lining and the underlining were both very slippery fabrics that also frayed easily at the edges. I wanted to keep those edges protected from scraping movements to prevent their fraying down to the stitching; thus, I encased them. I worked on the dress for at least two months, morning, noon and night, non-stop.
it is beautiful! i somehow missed, do you bind the seam allowance where the sleeve is inserted too? Also, how long do you think this took you, hours wise? Thanks!
the dress was soo stunningly elegant. great job on the dress and beautiful pictures. Would have been a wedding i would have enjoyed going to myself.
