Caroleeena you are an awesome hooper and I love your videos. I have to say I laughed all the way through this one at your bird. Truly enjoyed it. Now I will watch your other ones to see if he's in them too!!!! Ha thanks for sharing!
just started a beginner really. what size hoop and weight are you using I have a 27" but it"s lighter than I'd like( not the cheap kids hoop) and flops over and I have a 40"160 3/4 weight. for hooping. what is good for a beginner for isolation
Hi Caroleena, I am Marge. I bought a hula hoop from you in Lansing, NC at the New River Winery wine tasting. I am wondering if you can write me on FB or at maycockmarge539@gmail.com. I need information about possibly showing art at the school as well as hula hooping in the Ashe country area. I am really taking it up now and love your videos..Blessing to you, Marge..my friend Julie wants you to come to Ashe county to do a hula hoop workshop at her yoga studio...Please write me if you will.
I looooooove hoopdance with a lot of isolations and this helped me a lot along my way. I was wondering if you could possibly do a tutorial on vertical lateral isolations, I think they're called (Where it looks like the hoop is shooting in a straight line out in front of you) I can't figure out how to do it for the life of me, and you explain things so well! Plus I love your bird! Happy hooping!
@dubstepfrenzy There is a really good cat eye tutorial online. You may have already seen it. I was saving this with the intention to do one but then I saw a good one. Have you seen it (or gotten this) already?
how adorable!! (your kitty and birdie :-)...) -- and your tortorials help me with soooo much!! I tried watching other tutorials...and I have to say yours is one of the 2 that make sense!
part2 - 3,12,9,6 go other direction, arms fully extended.right hand only one hand,9>6>3>6 hoop on pad, at 12 u turn hand, 12>3>6>9, go opposite direction, 12>9>6>3,stall on 15 mark 3>9,both directions, using both hands, single hand at a time, hand over hand 20 minutes, both direction, one going down other going upwards, step back do movement from outside, barrel roll 9>12>3>6 keep hoop behind all time, other side3>12>9>6,hold hoop both hand at 12, slide one hand, then use other hand & slide towards top
thank you so much for all the videos, I love the bird & perhaps song. I want to learn these moves. hope u dont mind, here is the brief breakdown, (part1) 3,6,9,12 both hands, start at bottom one hand or 2 hands, inside or outside, arms in opposite direction, top, bottom,u can do turns, barrel roll, squeese out to side, cross hoop in front, swing at back,2 hand isolations 6>3>6>9>6,feet planted,go to 12>6 otherside 12>6,one hand in front of another looks like one,2 handed 6>3>12>grab hoop outside 9>6
Thank you so much for your great videos, Caroleeena! I watched this one last year but I wasn't ready for it yet. Now I'm a little stronger and more connected to my hoops and ready to try! I'm glad the video is still here. Very informative! You break everything down really well and give us stepping stones, which is so important. Thank you! :-) Lulu Hoop
Yaaa i'm a pro now.. I practiced on my kiddie - hoop. I actually made a new one.. out of the black tubing i forget the actual size.. my other one is ridiculous I now realize. SO heavy and bulky.
I recommend making a very light hoop just for learning isolations. I use a 100 psi, 1/2 inch tubing. Big hoops are too heavy and can actually cause injuries across the chest from trying to force yourself to hold the hoop straight. You could even use a kid's K-Mart hoop for learning and building strength if you don't have a lighter hoop. Good luck! (And, yeah. Mulder is a ham.)
i think yu are a brill.teacher, really, really gud at breaking stuff down.been hooping 3 weeks now, just cudnt get a "grip"(hee, hee) of this..still havnt but im getting it..thanks!!!
oh.. i think you parrot(who's very cute!) looks so cool in this vid...he often looks like he's perched on the side of your hoop(:xxxlove and light to you from ireland,ta!
Thanks so much. These look easier than they actually are. I kind of taught myself to do this but this tutorial is a refining step. Your tutorials are great- keep up the good work!!
Thank you. Yeah, that bird. He sat there quietly all evening until I started talking ... then he had to talk too. I swear. He may look like a bird but really he's a ham!. It was hard for me to stay focused but I wes determined to hang in there and finish before I forgot how I'd broken it all down in my head. Thanks for your kind words.
Thank you! Your comment made me laugh really hard. You'll get it. It just takes a while to master exerting pressure in all 360-degrees of the circle and to learn to rotate from the shoulder like you're the hands of a clock. You'll get it. Just keep at it and pretty soon you'll be isolating without even thinking about it.
Caroleena, this was suprememly awesome. And though I don't quite have it yet your break down of the movements are superb and I will definitely becoming back to watch the video again. Thanks for helping out the hoopers! And much love to Mulder :D
Great tutorial - really helpful especially when I practice isolations! I had a hard time going counter-clockwise but this made sense in my brain :) Mulder is hilarous!
I LOVE this video!! The parrot is so hilarious! I like his flipping around!(This is from Dalia, my 7 year old, who appreciates the isolations and other hoop tricks very much as well. And funny parrots!)
dear Caroleena! thank you for your tutorial. Will try out the isolations, which is something I have always wanted to learn. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and grace and I wish you a lot of success in the future!
Caroleeena, one more comment: Mulder's commentary reminds me *exactly* of what my children do when I'm trying to teach! What is *that* about???? :-) See you in the circle!
Hey Caroleena! Thanks for all of your help with the isolations!! I have posted a video, me and a girlfriend tried out some tricks that we learned from YOU :) :) Feel free to check it out :)
Caroleeena, thank you soo much! You've helped hoopers the world over. I've turned my living room into super hooper central. These moves are ultra useful. Look out Tokyo here I come!
This is incredibly helpful for some things I've been working on and new moves I haven't played with yet. Very thorough. Can't wait to practice next! Thank you.
I can't remember what I said the first time, but this is a terrific tutorial. I understand what's happening now. I can't wait to get outside to practice. I can't do it inside because I hit my hands on the ceiling if I raise them over my head! I live in a hobbit hole ;~)
The way Mulder's front crest wobbles about when he's shaking his head, he's just like a Teddy Boy with the flop fronted hair-style!!! He's a 1950's Rock and Roll bird.
Caroleeena, this is just a test post to see if it works. But I just watched Mulder perform his opening show again! Priceless!! He's teaching how to isolate your head crest in case we need to know.
Hahaha! That's funny. He needs to learn to isolate that beak! He was quiet for hours until I started talking to the camera. That guy.
Thanks for helping me figure out this post thing. This one took. Must be that weird technology ju-ju I was telling you about. I still can't see my posts on a couple of other folks vids. Maybe it was just a 24 hour virus. (tee hee...)
Ha! Your bird is a trip! Talk about the Peanut Gallery! Hahaha! <3
