  • Αnd some say he didnt had technique, assholes who can create sound like that and have the technique in the same time, there will be one and only one Segovia whether you like it or not he was and is still the King

  • Andres Segovia... How many people have you inspired by your talent, innovations and dedication? You have played a great role in my life. And for that, I shall be forever grateful.

  • @KarloPero I share your thoughts. He inspired me more than anything/anyone in my life.

  • @gmdinformation How is he extremely overrated?

  • @gmdinformation Common sense?

  • dare I say it but I don't like his interpretation in some of the parts. Of course he has impeccable technique.

  • The master...

  • segovia is the hendrix of classical.

  • @Glassandcandy That is a silly opinion!

  • 100000 hours is more than 11 years lol that is just crazy

  • bastard

  • I bow to the mastter

  • Bravo Maestro Bravo.

  • VERY WEL André

    Hubert

  • ...Has Segovia ever been ...YOUNG?! :-)

  • @Oisselapathos No! He was millions of years old. That's why he could play the way he did. Only one who is that old could possibly play that way. We're all just snot nosed brats and HE is and always will be the grandmaster. It will never change! He came from light years away to educate us all. WE SUCK!!!

  • @Jonlemaar Before him the spanish guitar was different, they made it bigger and harder to press because was needed a stronger sound for the concert rooms...

Also spanish guitar has many chords and you use all fingers, electric guitar has many scales... and that is all.

  • @Jonlemaar ok I dont suck at all im sorry. Segovia is one of my biggest inspirations, but thats not a reason tu suck sir :D

  • I love paco de lucia,,clapton,,,vai,,jimmi,,,but,,,,i never heard a guitarist play like this,,,,he is the best ever,,,,just the flow is smooth,,,godddd

  • When you play the music that people compose and played, you actually get in their thought, you can virtually feel them.. and they become eternal whit it, as long as there is someone to devote to their work.

  • no es la flauta magica.-

esta pieza es "variaciones de un tema de Mozart" de Sor Fernando

  • maestro supremo per sempre

  • Maestro!

  • Era mi bisabuelo , he was my great grandfather.

  • @Cool1Cat75 Wow, that's good to know. Does anyone in your family still play the guitar?

  • What an Inspiration to any guitarist! A true master!

  • yeah a m3alam

  • amazing. and he makes it look just so easy. the king of the guitar

  • Yeah, MAB, you can learn from this man right here, don't be ashamed now.

We know you can wank the strings and all, but, you know.

  • The Great Master!

  • I give my right arm for that right hand.

  • AMAZING !

  • bravo bravo !!such a beauty!!!!

  • the best!

  • michael angelo batio.......

  • Magic Flute

  • The onlyOne Master!

  • he prolly got some serious pussy.

  • I think that it would be more interesting if u had seen them playing together.

  • One feels transported by the beauty...sublime!.. I was so very fortunate to see Segovia in concert when I was a student in the early '70's-- a memory of a lifetime... On the other side of the musical coin, I also saw Hendrix!

  • lucky u! well i will watch Clapton before he died. :D

  • @Bluesbee8 Lucky bastard! xD I'm a thirteen-year-old metalhead and I love this!

  • This is great! I keep thinking of Django tho heh!

  • hermosa la musica universal...

  • it can't be playd better than this. it's said that nothing could be perfect but if you look on how he is playing this song.. well.. PERFECT!!!

  • Musica e musicista di un altro pianeta!

  • His play was noble

  • Precisely.

  • mozart always gives me that special feeling..

    *sits in ecstasy*

  • Yes, I am definitely old fashioned. Andres Segovia has been dead these many years. See my remarks about other old favourites of mine Mi caro amigo Pablo.

This is a very old movie of the master.

    Aled.

  • Huh??

  • really great exellent

  • Magic. I would love to have attended a concert and heard him in person. Same with Caruso and Gigli of course and Chaliapin and Paul Robeson. I could go but I did get to see the Folies Bergeres.or a close facsimile.

    ;o/

  • nice.. peacefull.. i like it (:

  • is there a place where i can get sheet music for this?

  • it's a variation on mozart's theme

  • No, sadly there isn't. There are quite a few great variations that Segovia took to his grave.

  • God

  • exactly what type of music does one play that has talent??????? you seem to be such an expert......so please enlighten us all on that

  • Is that sarcasm, or deafness?

  • Comment removed

  • es una melodia hermosa sin explicaciones......soooolooo

    lo mejor

  • ¿Magic Flute?

It's Variations of a Mozart's theme by Fernando Sor.

  • @pepitojar The melody comes from (was inspired by) a short section of Mozart's opera Die Zauberflote (The Magic Flute)

  • absolutely incredible. those last two 'licks' he picks every note with his fingers the first time, they cut angles, and then he sweep picks with his thumb the second time. hes just showing off at that point. ridiculous.

  • I think he did that to exploit the 'mute' effect from the pad of his thumb... But you are right, that was jaw dropping-ly incredible.

  • In a segment I saw, a student played a piece perfectly. Segovia said it was all wrong due to the

fingering. I wondered... So after some more study,

I realized that if Segovia picks, he picks. If he sweeps, he sweeps. That is just one of many standard's the maestro held himself to.

  • his tone is incredible, he really feels the music. he never just plays a piece mechanically. makes me wish there were video of him playing Recuerdos de la Alhambra...

  • i think this is actually Variation's on a Theme of Mozart and not Magic Flute itself. Fernando Sor not Mozart

  • Yes, you are right about that.

  • I wanna see any other guitar player do this all the "cool" guitar players who do "incredible" guitar solos do just because they have amps. I'll respat them when they can play a acoustic guitar like this.

  • the b&W at first glance reminds me Addams family, and the song too. but he's really one of the top. wait until 0.44 and tune your rap ears on

  • esa mamada no es la flauta mágica!!

  • He is the ZEUS of the guitar from all times!

  • ke buena

  • Είμαι βέβαιος ότι Segovia είναι ελληνικά δεν υπάρχει άλλη εξήγηση για την ιδιοφυία.

  • He plays so well and relaxed it makes one wonder if he could play guitar without hands.

I think he could put every rock guitarist to shame. He smoked those frets and then ever so casually, leans back in his chair as if to say: "Tag! Your it!".

  • i love him. i consider it impossible that young upcoming artists like jung can play masterpieces, they are too young, they can not feel the emotions which you need to have felt in order to make for your self sound music.

  • Grande Maestro !!!

  • muy buen video

  • This is the "youngest" Segovia I ever saw...very interesting document

  • masterful... I play the same piece in more then double the time, though I'm only sixteen so I have lot's of time practicing still ahead of me

  • Segovia practiced a total of 100,000 hours in his lifetime (possibly more).

This guy could outplay the best rock guitarists you ever heard. I don't think anyone mastered the guitar the way he did.

  • @MondoBeno had to be more in my opinion.

  • @MondoBeno Do you actually rate rock guitarists? lol

I learned rock because it was piss easy.

  • @MondoBeno try paco de lucia, he s a monster too

  • @MondoBeno

Rock guitarist!?sry, but i never heard something stupid like that..

I see you dont know anything about classical music.. Couse if you were, im quite sure you wouldnt speak of "best rock guitarist

The diffrence between the master and peoeple like you is not a matter of taste, its just matter of knowledge. And today, unfortunately couse of meny people that listen garbage, the real music becomes forgotten and less worth..

  • @goorance Oh, did I somehow offend you? Well I don't care.

Exactly how much time do you spend complaining about other peoples' posts, in particular the ones that were made 3 years ago?

Were you abused as a child?

  • @MondoBeno

your comment was best rated so i was able to see it when i enter this video. i realy dont like when peoeple come to not smart conclusions.. Im sorry for reply, its just stupid of me, i get it now..

  • @MondoBeno What about electric guitarists who have achieved just as much in their own domain? You are right to say he mastered the guitar in his own way, but don't contradict yourself by saying he could outplay (whatever that means) the best rock guitarists. He could not. Many of the best electric guitarists currently can perform classical recitals fluently, yet are also well versed in jazz improvisation. I invite you to examine in depth the art of such masters as Shawn Lane.

  • i saw a picture of segovia at a desk with an inbox and an outbox and a stack about 2 feet high of music that he would practise daily. crazy

  • Segovia ist der MEISTER!!!

  • i watch this video at least once a day. truly awe inspiring. complete control, deep emotion, and plays with NO FEAR. a true master. R.I.P

  • Thats depressing (in a sense that as a guitarist it would be easier to eat with my asshole and shit out of my mouth than to ever play like Segovia) yet inspiring all at once. I am honored to be able to divulge in such virtuosity. Truly makes other masters look like ass masters.Bravo!

i feel the same way. i got a good advise for you: practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practic, practice and you can get as good.

  • lol 6 hours a day...
